They get 5 stars for the Name, Decor and the Texas Tea (Bartender, whoever you are you rock!) I was disappointed in the food.

Clam Chowder in a bread bowl: Blah, not fresh at all. The bread was good.

Pear and Walnut Salad:  I had to order more Blue Cheese Crumbles and Blue cheese dressing on the side. I've had better at home.

Jumbo Chicken Wings Tossed in McCovey's traditional Buffalo Sauce and served with Blue Cheese Dressing: Where is the JUMBO? Tyson Frozen Chicken? Sigh..

MCCOVEY'S FAMOUS TEXAS TEA: OOOOOHHHH YEAH!  Party in my mouth for sure. Vanilla vodka, Rum, triple sec, orange juice & whip cream.

I will be back, for drinks and a good time. For drinks...Just for drinks. GO GIANTS!

I struggled between 3 and 4 stars. I ended up with 4 stars because the ambiance was great and the service was good.

I had a pulled pork sandwich and it was really lackluster. Cold bun and the sauce on the pulled pork was flavorless. The pulled pork itself was dry and chewy.

The decorations and general vibe was great.

Next time I'll just have a few beers and enjoy the atmosphere with a friend.

Nachos were much, much too spicy. French fries weren't cooked. Potato salad was bland. Love the ambiance. Prices are good. Go A's!

The only reason I give one star is that I am a baseball fan and love the memorabilia and the ability to watch a game while I eat.  This place maybe three years ago would have gotten 5 stars - the food and staff were great. It was my son't favorite birthday dinner spot for years.  I am not sure if the ownership has changed, but it is the only reason I can think of that might explain why it has tanked. When we went Wednesday night, the place was only about half full but it took a half hour for the server to come back and take our order after bringing drinks.  When when the food finally came, it was cold and congealed.  The shrimp pasta dish left my friend feeling ill all night and it looked like a bland colorless puddle when it came.  Could have at least used a piece of parsley.  No flavor.  I had the California burger with cole slaw, and it was also flavorless and overcooked - I ordered medium rare and it came close to well done.  My son't cheese burger was cold and the bacon was uncooked, and when I asked them to fix it, They just nuked the plate so the burger got dry.  On top of that, the chocolate shake got that weird consistency as it melted that comes from a non-ice cream dairy product.  Almost $60 wasted.

Really sad, as this place used to be popping.

Hot dog was way too much bun for the dog. I cut half it off. Work partner did a similar thing with his sandwich. Not sure what the point was. I guess to make it look big. But come on; when you ask for a hot dog, you want a HOT DOG! Not a hot bun! We were there for lunch; but the setting seems like a nice local for after-work brews; or watching a game.

When given the choice of sports bars in Walnut Creek, McCovey's is a solid bet.  The restaurant and bar themselves are about 3 stars.  I would say better than average sports bar food, acceptable drinks, above sports bar average pricing, obscene numbers of TVs, and ample space to hunker down for a game.  The bar and restaurant are sufficiently separated to be family friendly.  Perfect for Dad to take the family to dinner, but still feel like he is out watching sports and throwing one back with the guys.

This place gets an extra star because I'm a Giants fan.  Dear lord, the person who started McCovey's is PASSIONATE about the Giants.  Take the most obsessive Gaints fan's man cave...and make it into a restaurant.  It kind of looks like the Giant's Dugout Store exploded on the restaurant.  Feel like running the bases?  No problem, they are embedded in the diamond shaped dining room.

I find it funny that the restaurant with the most Giants spirit that I have seen in my life....is in Walnut Creek.  Sure, why not...die hard SF Giants fans MUST take a pilgrimage here.

We had lunch here yesterday with my wife and kid and the food was very tasty.   I ordered the Catfish Po' Boy and it was fabulous.   The Buffalo Sauce, made in house, kicked some serious tastebuds.   The garlic fries were beautifully prepared.   My wife had a burger with a salad and she thought it tasted great.   Portions, as always, are huge.   Still the food was definitely very good and a vast improvement over our last visit here a few years ago.   My kid enjoyed his chicken fingers and french fries.  All in all a big win.  We will be back more often!

We visited McCovey's a few weeks ago with a large group.  THIS is a Giants fan's mecca...no doubt.  The owners have done a GREAT job of building a sports bar with the ultimate theme - around the World Series Champs, of course!

    Many many pluses:
    - the could handle a large group
    -TONS of parking
    - FAST service
    - good food
    - TVs EVERYWHERE, tuned to every possible sports activity
    - Giants jerseys everywhere

We had a ton of wait staff assigned to the various tables.  Our table of four did a broad spectrum of the menu...the wife got a salad, I got a chicken club, one of the guys ordered appetizers only (fried zucchini and fried calamari) and the other guy at our table ordered a burger.  We got our drinks and chatted while we waited for the meals to show - and they showed up pretty quickly.

The appetizers (as a meal) looked good (although why anyone would eat zucchini...fried or not, is beyond my simple realm of comprehension) - the wife loved her sald...and the burger looked like the side of a mountain (picture uploaded...you can see I'm not kidding!). The chicken sandwich was good - AFTER I removed the top of the bun.  I'm not a bread fan to begin with, but the bun top was over 2" thick...again, not kidding.  Upon removal, the sandwich was pretty tasty.

    Oh...and did I mention....garlic fries?  MMMMMMmmmmmMMMM!!!

Overall, definitely a cool place, and if I were in Walnut Creek during the playoffs, there's no question I'd hang here.  Worth checking out.....

I really wanted to like this place, and while food & $10 pitchers were awesome, the rude servers killed it for me. Honestly, the worst customer service I've ever had in my life. Both waitresses had a major attitude problem even though our tab came out to be close to $130 in the end. They didn't even crack a smile, and made me regret even waking into this place. We ended up leaving a lousy $4 tip and got out of there as soon as possible. Go here if you want a cool atmosphere, but be warned that the servers have a stick up their a$$es.

The food is not the greatest. We go here for the atmosphere mostly GO GIANTS! Pretty much your all-American eats and nothing special. The bar is fun to grab drinks and watch the game and it can get loud (which I actually like).

I suggest coming here with friends to watch the game, grabbing some drinks and an order of the pork nachos (the only thing I like on the menu) but not a place for a yummy dinner.

I absolutely love the GIANTS so the decor of this place is obviously to my liking but that's about all the place has going for it.

The service was very mediocre and I was amazed when they messed up my order, considering my friend and I were one of 3 groups of people in the entire place on this before dinner rush.

The food is decent at best, the wings had zero flavor and I could have done better at home. All the prices are just over the top. I know it's Walnut Creek and people just obliviously consume and spend haphazardly all day but I am not willing to throw my money away here again.

My friend suggested this bar to watch a 49ers playoff game a while ago. It's first and foremost a Giants bar but since it was the offseason, I guess any bay area sports team will do. We came about half an hour before kickoff. They were filling every seat, combining different parties at the same tables. And there was no saving seats really. So we really had to come together and stay there basically the whole time. Though one couple at our table did leave at halftime and another party of two quickly filled their seat. Anyways I don't know how people stay at a bar drinking and eating for the whole 3 hour game. My friends and I aren't big drinkers so we had a beer each. I tried to stretch out my beer as long as I could but I think I was finished by halftime. We did prolong our meal by ordering an appetizer - buffalo wings, before we even ordered the entrees. The buffalo wings were tasty and not too spicy for me. My entrée was the pulled pork sandwich. It was a pretty big sandwich and a side of fries after the wings. The pork was moist but I wish it had a little more sauce. The crunchy onions were good to break up the mushy texture. I finished about half the sandwich and my fries and was stuffed. Luckily we were sitting there so long, watching the game that I picked and picked at the sandwich till it was done. That's what happens when there is food in front of you - you will eat/snack even if you're not hungry. It was a really nice place to watch a sports game though. Most everyone is cheering for the same team so it's more exciting than sitting at home with a few friends. They have a bunch of TVs and projections of the game but we sat in a weird corner where no matter what TV we looked at it, it was still a weird angle or too far away. And they are all so high above everyone that you have to crane our neck. There's no staring at it for too long without getting a crick in your neck. That could probably use some changing around.

Welcome to baseball heaven. If you are a Giants fan, you have to check this place out. We had a fabulous lunch here last week. Ashley, our waitress, was great. She was friendly, sweet, and knowledgable about the food without being overbearing. The food we had was delicious. I had the catfish po-boy and it was fabulous. My macaroni and cheese side wasn't anything to write home about, but the rest of the meal did not disappoint. My mom and I walked around the place in awe looking at all the memorabilia and nerding out. I would love to go watch a game here when it's a little more loud and rambunctious. Great food, great service, home run.

The worst restaurant in Walnut Creek!!

We were given a gift card for Christmas to McCovey's. We went to a movie and came here afterwards. When we asked the server/waiter what he recommended or what most people enjoy, he hesitated and stumbled and then came up with "fish and chips." I asked about the bbq, he said he didn't like ribs so he couldn't give an opinion. ok....well I guess I need more time since he really didn't have a good idea of anything good to eat in a sports related restaurant. Well I thought we were safe when we ordered a bacon cheeseburger and a wedge salad. Well, we got our  food...it was not great at all.

Very plain, no seasoning, bland, blahhh. I cook better than this shit!!!

So I'm eating my not so good cheeseburger, and I look down at my plate and I see a hair. My first thought was...well maybe its mine, it kind of looks like mine....ok, I dealt with it without throwing up.

After not being impressed with anything they served, my partner started putting her salad in a to-go container...when she noticed a hair on her plate. I know it wasn't hers because hers is black and this one was not black.

Now, I'm disgusted...I called the waiter and he looked at us like we were aliens. He said "I'll let the manager know." He came back and said: "The manager said he'll take off the burger and the salad." The manager never came over and apologized, and frankly I thought it was lame that they didn't comp the entire meal.

I still have another gift card and I WON'T be using it. I guess I'll give it to someone who I don't like.

    This place sucks!!!

woof. the waitress totally messed up my order (a hot dog with chili and cheese on top)....not on my diet list of approved foods, but heck,  you gotta live life.

soooo when the waitress knew she messed up, she just looked at me like I had five heads. Okay, maybe my hair was a mess. After all it was a Sunday afternoon football day.

She neglected to properly fix the order and her manager came over and just handed me a cup of cheese and a cup of chili to "toss" on my hot dog. Really?!?!  My fiance was less then pleased and in his corporate, business tone ordered them to make me a chili cheeses hot dog.

Asked the waitress for salt and pepper. Nope, she never brought that over. She was horrible. Manger was a bit of a dope too which sucks b/c this place could be a better place than what it is.

My fiances enjoyed all the tv's, but who doesn't  on football sunday?!?!

This is one of those jaunts you take your visiting relatives who are die hard sports/baseball fans to and it stops there.
Aside the nachos and some other items, the food is 'eh-so so'.  On Sunday's they do have a brunch at a very fair price which looks awesome!  I'm not sure if mimosas and bloody mary's are thrown in or discounted.  There seem to be drink specials, evenings or certain time on Sundays in the bar area.
Some of the staff are kind of out there but for the most servers and even the busser guy adds a bit of chutzpah to the environment.  But guess that overpriced food tag is worth it when your brother in law gets his pic taken next to DiMaggios jersey:)

My biggest disappointment in Walnut Creek so far.
The place is cool inside, and the food is ok. But that's about it.
Service is the worst in the town and you can eat the same type of  bar food in other places for much better  prices.

I got there and they gave me simply the worst seat in the house. And the place was empty. I found it really weird. The waitress basically took forever to get our orders and once she brought it she never came back. The couple next to me sat for 30 minutes and no one came to get their drinks order or nothing, so they just left.  I wish I have done the same. Did not worth my money, and I will not go back at all.
Walnut Creek has so many cool places to go, definitely not worthed  to spend your money where the staff is so rude and the service is so poor.

    Memorabilia = 5 Stars
    Food = 1 Star
    Service = ZERO stars
    Cleanliness= ZERO stars

This is a good place to visit have a beer check out the memorabilia maybe watch a game and leave... The service is nonexistent, most of the employees we observed or had any interaction just kind of moped around and didn't really seem like they wanted to be there.. We went on Day 3 of the world series and this place should have been jumping and the employees should have been energetic since the Giants were in the World Series and up 2-0..

    * The memorabilia, décor and memories this place house is unforgettable and mesmerizing..
    *  The food was horrible! We ordered a Hamburger and the Ball Tip Sandwich.. The hamburger was OK, the meat on the Ball Tip sandwich was so tough I literally could not chew it!! The fries in both place were cold and our drinks never got refilled until we were just about to leave.. Our server took our order and then we never saw her again until the check came and we had to wait a long time for that to happen..
    *  The restrooms were also messy and not kept up
    *  The kitchen- I peeked in as I was done using the restroom and headed back to our table and honestly if I would of seen this mess before I ordered we would of left!!!

It's a shame that whoever is responsible for the service and food (basically running this place) have run down such a wonderful  baseball icon as McCovey...

I always like to give restaurants second and third chances but i will NEVER EVER go back to this place.  Every time i went here something went wrong.  Service is slow, something in my food, food is not good...i could go on for pages and pages!

I went there with a couple of friends on a Sunday to watch some football.  Got there at 930 and the place was practically empty, but the service still sucked.  We decided to get the  buffet which was disgusting and not edible sine it was STONE COLD!!!!!  Basic food safety, c'mon.  I also saw someone who worked there pick a sausage out of the buffet with his bare hands and eat it-how nasty is that!  Eghhhh!

    Everything was horrible.

Man, if only the food was as awesome as the restaurant itself, I'd probably give this joint 4 or 5 stars.  But nope, food sucked and the restaurant decor was cool.

Let's start off with the good stuff.  The restaurant has a super cool layout:  The center is in the shape of a baseball diamond, there are tons of baseball jerseys, balls, memorabilia, and there are a bunch of TVs on each wall so you won't miss any game from wherever you are sitting at.  Also, the staff is really cool.  They made sure to take my lil nephew's order immediately, gave him some crayons, and baseball cards.

The bad stuff was the food.  My pulled pork sandwich was so bland.  The sauce was boring, the cole slaw was average, and the fries were probably Ore Ida or something.  Ball park food is better than this.

Maybe I ordered the wrong thing but I wasn't impressed by the food.  On the other hand, I was impressed by the inside of the restaurant.

I came here because it's Giants game season and I haven't been here before. When I walked into the joint the first thing I noticed was the mass amounts of Giants memorabilia and the nice ceiling.

As I was sitting in a booth, I was looking at the menu and looking at what Yelp recommends. People on Yelp pretty much said nothing good about this place so I played it safe and only ordered a beer and some garlic fries. I was hoping that the garlic fries would be on par with the ones from AT&T Park but they were nowhere near that. They tasted like normal french fries without any garlic. If you mess up on garlic fries, then you probably can't get other things right. When our beers came, they weren't even placed on coasters--to me this is important.

Service was mediocre. Since the restaurant was not busy, service should have been superb.

There was like one TV showing the baseball game and none of the screens were even that big. This is supposed to be a sports bar but it felt like a generic restaurant that some baseball player opened without putting any heart into it.

Definitely not a must-visit place in Walnut Creek.

Best chicken tenders around. I've been to McCovey's probably 20 times over the years, and I've had the tenders all but my first time. Oddly, the portion size has gotten bigger over time, too. Combine them with an order of garlic fries, and you're doing well.

Definitely not cheap, though. The above meal will run you $15 before tip. If I had to throw my two cents in, I'd say this place is on the pricy side.

Fun environment for watching sporting events.

I don't understand why people are giving this place a 1 star. this feels and looks like  a hard rock cafe for baseball. service was good, and the food was fresh, my girlfriend wish she didn't choose the fish tacos but the curly fries were amazing.. great place to watch the giants and enjoy some beer!

also, we almost forgot our sons giants hat and the hostess ran outside going the extra mile to give it back!

The worst spot to eat in Walnut Creek hands down - so don't bother!

I went in this past weekend, I got seated pretty quick so that was positive. But we had two servers ask us for our drink orders; obviously, no communication there.

Then, it took our waiter another 10-15 minutes to come back with our drinks. By then, we were ready to order, he took our appetizer order that felt like forever! We didnt receive that for another 30 min.

After we put in our lunch order - I ordered a cobb salad and my husband ordered another appetizer (sliders) which shouldve been a quick order, but it took almost an hour for just those two orders to arrive! I have no idea if they went to grow the lettuce or kill the pig, but it's not like we ordered steak or lobster! They never refilled our water, nor they never came back to check up on us if we needed anything. Mind you, we had to ask them for a refill on our drinks, ask for extra napkins, and ask for our bill. The place was not packed and there was even a game going on! I've never felt forgotten in my life. Funny how they were so quick to take our money....I'm definitely never going to grace them with my hard-earned cash and presence again.

I have to say, I've never written a negative review in my life until I ventured to this spot. I wish I could take those 2 hours of my life back!

Biggest plate of nachos around.  My most common meal selection and rarely do I finish it all.  Man vs Food for the amateur.

Great sports ambience, though my Canadian buddy mocked it when he noted just the 2 hockey jerseys hanging, further commenting that they were the only 2 hockey players most Americans know.

Lots of tv's and like their daily specials.

My wife and I went in on Thursday a little after 6pm.  The place was really warm inside and the dining room was empty.  We went to the bar to watch the football game.  The Bartender was rude and didn't acknowledge us when we sat down, but was quick to attend to an obvious 'regular.'

The food was nothing special.  The only item we enjoyed was the pork sliders.  Other than that, typical bar food.

Beer was not cold, barely chilled.

We were excited to watch the game on a Saturday afternoon and figured McCoveys would be the perfect spot.  The fact that the restaurant wasn't packed should have been our clue.....

Although the food was great, it was served lukewarm to cold.  My lukewarm fish tacos were delicious.  The fish tasted fresh and wasn't fishy.  The sauces were great.  The hamburger was also great.  The sweet potato fries were cold and nothing special.

The too small service staff was too busy socializing with each other to help any customers.  With the 40-50% patronage they had, food should have been served a lot faster.  After waiting about 20 minutes for a house salad, we reminded our server. "Oh yeah".  She had apparently forgotten that we came to the restaurant to eat food.

The decor is great.  It's definitely a must-see for a Giants fan.  Maybe go in a check check it out.  Get a drink at the bar if you really must buy something.

The prices were on par with other restaurants in the area.  Based on the service and the cold food, I probably won't go back.

I came here for after-work drinks with some coworkers. We sat at the bar and was very happy to see that no matter where we sat, we were facing a tv, so we could watch the game. The decor is really cool - especially for the baseball fanatics in our group.

I ordered the Left Field Lemon Drop and Calamari. The Lemon Drops are pretty darn good, maybe a little on the light side for alcohol, but tasty nonetheless. The calamari was a bit disappointing. It was definitely more batter than squid.

On a previous visit, I had ordered a sandwich and recall being rather disappointed...it seems McCovey's isn't really a place to go eat, but more of a place to drink. Their happy hour specials are awesome, especially because they go from 5-close. If I go back, I'll eat before I get there.

Well I was really excited to go to this place since I am a big Giants fan, and the decor with all the bats, jerseys, balls, autographs, etc... is fantastic. The service as well was very good.

This is not a bad little place.

With all the years I have lived in the bay area and all the times that I have driven by this place, I finally get around to checking them out.

Located on the corner of California blvd. Right across the street from Yogurts Castle and Scotts, this place is extremely spacious with high ceilings, plentiful seating and a decent sized bar in the right side of the restaurant.

I arrived here early on a friday afternoon and was greeted by a super friendly server who answered a handful of my questions.

I ordered a blue moon beer and a small order of Chili while I waited for my hun to show up. They have a decent selection of items to choose from on the menu everything from burgers, hot dogs and even a healthy selection as well.

I was in health mode this time and thought the Grilled Pesto Chicken over cabbage sounded good, though, I opted for steamed veggies instead of cabbage. My bf ordered a burger.

My grilled chicken arrived fresh and appealing and tasted quite good however, the portion of the chicken was quite small and there for not too filling. My bf's burger looked delish and the sweet potato Fry's along with them were pretty good.

Overall, its a fun entertaining atmosphere, the service was extremely on top and super friendly. The food was pretty good ( nothing spectacular) and a little too pricey considering the portion but I definitely would not mind coming back again  and perhaps ordering a burger my next visit.

Went out here for my birthday lunch with a bunch of coworkers and well, I was happy with the selection of food and the plentifulness of it. The prices kind of are high compared to other locations, but well you're in WC, everything's more by $1-2 days. But sadly when we needed the bill and needing to get out of there, it was like pulling teeth.

One of us ordered nachos and boy was that a pile of nachos! I had a combination of ball tip and ribs. It was okay, but I was so hungry that it was the best thing in the world. I also had the blackberry pear cider which was dangerous. It's like bubbly alcoholic juice.

I don't think I'll be back, but it was good to try it once. I'm sure if we were just having drinks or happy hour, it might be worth it otherwise parking's a pain and well again slow service. Do not come here if you're on a schedule.

Definitely a fun place to go if you're a baseball fan like I am.  Lots of jerseys, autographed balls, bats, pictures, etc from not just the Giants but from other baseball teams and local notables as well...  it's like eating in a baseball museum!  The design is fun, it's like a stadium!

I ordered the pulled pork sandwich ($12.95, I think) and it was pretty decently sized with more sweet potato fries than I could finish!  The others in my party seemed to like their food, especially the guys who got the fried chicken.  Service was attentive, they kept coming by to check in, refill our drinks, etc, which was definitely a plus.

I noticed that many of the reviews complained about how the food is a bit pricey and that the food isn't so sophisticated.  Well, spoiler alert folks, this is a SPORTS bar!  Just the simple fact that in a sports bar people might sit around for hours watching the game helps me to understand why a place like this might be a little more expensive- you're paying partly to watch a game as well.  If you go in with this mentality you'll be fine.  If you're not a baseball/sports fan, I could see how you might be disappointed- though I'm sure there are other restaurants that would appeal more to you.

The concept of this restaurant is 5 stars. The reality of it, though is only 2.

Although this is a SF Giant's restaurant they do represent all other baseball teams. They have a huge TV so everyone can enjoy sports with their meal/drinks. However, the food is not even worth ordering. I recommend only coming here for beer. Even the drinks are watered down.

The service is mediocre. They used to have some Shazaam guy here (or something like that); this guy would walk around and be all loud and obnoxious. He was kinda fun. I'm not sure if he's still there.

I do approve of the bathroom. Its nice and they have TVs inside. You can still watch the game while poppin' a squat.

With all the choices Walnut Creek has to offer, this place hits the bottom of the list

Name brand food: It makes sense that this place is no better than Bing Crosby's (better the WC location went out of business) or Maria Maria. They are all umbrelled under the same owner.  In summary of those three businesses: The food isn't that great and it has a name-brand price tag. The only reason McCovey's gets two stars is the great ambience and decorations in there. It's actually really, really fun to look around, whether or not you are a Giants fan.  There are a lot of great pictures and signed balls and paintings... really fun.

But I don't go to a restaurant and spend my money for "fun". Well, I do if it's Dave and Busters. In Walnut Creek though I'm going for the food.  Our last visit (3/4/12) was really fun because a friend of mine I hadn't seen in a decade was in town and we let him decide where to meet. McCovey's wasn't in WC 10 years ago as far as I can remember so I'm pretty sure it was the love of baseball that brought us here. He and his friend ordered nachos on a separate tab.

My fiance and I each ordered a non-alcoholic beverage. He also ordered spinach-artichoke dip and I ordered calamari. The calamari actually came with a lot of pieces and it was a nice breading; not too much. It was very good but the dipping sauce our server (Billie) brought out was thousand island. I asked if they had anything else that would better fit calamari and she brought the italian dressing. It was better.... but a lemon aioli or something might be wise to add to the menu when serving seafood.

My fiance didn't really like the spinach-artichoke dip. It came with tortilla chips and they included sour cream and salsa on the side. (?)  We took his leftovers home and I added some mayo, garlic powder, salt and pepper, and parmesan cheese... and he said it was much better! He grabbed a bag of pita chips and finished the dip.

The meal for us two was $24.74. That's a lot for two appetizers and no alcohol.  Service was so-so. She was pretty slow getting around to our table. I finished my water and my fiances before our drinks even showed up and they were pretty big glasses. She gave a look like "oops. I forgot about you" not long after we ordered the drinks. The food came out faster but I wouldn't say anything about her service stood out in a positive way. Nothing really horrible either but that's not the kind of impression I ever wanted to leave when I worked service industry.

Places like this make me realize I need to be more assertive and not let someone else decide where to eat when they haven't lived around the area in a long time.

My 92 year old mommy has been a San Francisco Giants Fan since they arrived in here in 1958. Fatefully, with her transistor radio, she has listened to almost every game. Of course, it was a big thrill for her to watch them win the 2010 World Series.

Mom as been going to McCovey's since they opened. You could say she is a regular. The staff who know her always come and give her a hug. The lovely bartender, bring Mom's ice tea to the table. Sometimes Mac is even there and always shaking hands and giving out autographs.

The Blue Burger is her favorite, sissy ordered the calamari, and I go with the ribs with McCovey's own sauce. We've had the fried chicken, which is fabulous. Most of all, Mom's likes it there because of the baseball theme and the kindness of the staff.

We went there today after shopping. Mom wanted to celebrate the court decision regarding Barry Bonds! We had a great meal, Mom received many hugs, and lunch just made her day!

The staff hits home runs every time we are there. Rocky, thanks for much for your kindness and the very special gift you bestowed upon Mom.

    Go Giants!!!

I've been looking forward to trying this place out for months since moving to the area....finally had dinner there on MNF and I was SO disappointed.

The lumpia rolls were dripping grease and pork literally tasted like salt.
The reuben sandwich was all fat and ligaments.
The baked mac n cheese had zero flavor.
The garlic fries....talk about disappointing...how do you F up garlic fries?!?!  they were saturated in grease, the fries had no potato and everytime I bit into one an explosion of grease would fill my mouth...it was  disgusting.

    Some places I would give a second chance...this place I won't.

    Danger Will Robinson!!!

I ordered the fried chicken which is my all time favorite food and because its fried I can only have it once or twice a year. Anyway,  A huge plate of fried chicken is set in front of me and I am really happy at this point.  I cut into the chicken and it's raw (not just a little pink, I mean it still had the frozen ice crystals from the freezer raw) in the middle.  I pointed it out to the bartender which immediately took it away and cooked up a new order. (on the house) and the paid my bar tab as well.
I was pleased with the action taken but you should never question whether the food is safe to eat.

I've been to McCovey's several times before without issue. I do agree with several of the reviews.

Prices are too high for the quality of the food and the help needs help with one exception. The bartender are far better than the restaurant help and they just recently updated the menu and lowered prices.

If you do go eat at the bar!

I give the restaurant / kitchen zero stars.. The bartender 2 stars!..
