  I was really hoping for a Rally's/Checkers with a dining room experience here.  Who am I kidding?  I went for the WiFi and the air conditioning.
  
  I'd never been to this McDonald's on the north side of town.  It's part of a Shell gas station and convenience store.  I've been to those all over the country, including the Quizno's that is only about 2 miles away.  Shell doesn't take over management of the restaurant any more than Texaco does, and that's a good thing.
  
  I ordered a cheeseburger in a combo meal.  She asked if I wanted a large drink and I agreed to it.  The total price was rather high, which I didn't understand, and as she looked at the display for the back-up person to get orders, she turned to ask me if I wanted 1 cheeseburger or 2.  They have a 2 cheeseburger meal and that's what she selected.
  
  So, the manager came to help, and refunded everything and started again.  She did the same thing.  It was like cheeseburger combo meal training day.  The next attempt, she asked me "So, you just wanted the cheeseburger by itself? and I probably looked a bit surprised, so I (irritatedly, probably) repeated "cheeseburger in a combo meal" with emphasis on "combo meal" again.  I must have said it 6 times before I got my food, plus I said "fries and a drink, also".
  
  Since I was mostly there for something other than food, I suppose it worked out, but is it so difficult to understand a simple order?  It's a good thing I didn't ask for extra ketchup on the sandwich.  Yeesh!
