It s ok. I feel the pizza was dry and not to flavorful. I like the place and really want this to be a note to the owner that something needs to be done. We got the classic pizza and they have a cracker crust which IMO is not a pizza, so I felt the classic pizza was pretty much a cracker crust to me. Dry, flavorless crust. Not a lot of tomato sauce which is disappointing. We also had the caprese salad which was good. My suggestion is make your own mozz. totally easy and tastes way better than commercial Mozz. Also brown spotted basil is not appetizing either so make sure you watch what you send out. I will go back but I hope it gets better...
Review Source:This place is great! Â I came here with my sis, we both had small house salads and we split a large bbq chicken pizza. Â It filled us up for our small littleton bar crawl but we also had a couple slices left over for a late night snack. Â
The salads were great - just what you expect. Â The pizza was wonderful. Â The crust was light, flakey and buttery, the chicken was nice and tender, there just the right amount of sauce and the red onion wasn't overwhelming. Â I'll definitely come back next time I'm i town!
I had come here a few years ago one time and remembered it as good pizza. Â Sadly, I was either mistaken, inebriated, or there has been a drastic change in the ingredients,
I stopped in Friday night for dinner, it was fairly crowded but I got a seat at the bar. Â The bartender was friendly, attentive and quick. Â There is a very good selection of tap beers, and TVs everywhere for game-watching. Â
Unfortunately, the pizza was just not good. Â It was very boring and flavorless. Â I didn't see anything on their creations list that impressed me, so I ordered one with cop pa, meatballs, and pepperoncinis. Â The meats had no flavor at all, the coppa tasted like regular ham, and the cheese was dry and flavorless as was the crust. Â I was pretty disappointed in the pie. Â
It's also pretty small and cramped inside. Â I probably won't come back here again unless it's just for a beer, but there's lots of places around to do that.
I have had their pizza more times than I can remember. Â This is a once or twice a month place for me in the winter time. Â The pizza is fantastic. Â Crust, sauce, toppings cheese ratio and sauce flavor are all really well done.
Not only is the pizza good but the bar is also good. Â Fun place.
We're trying to work our way through the menu and ordered the club pizza with bacon, ranch, lettuce, and tomatoes. Â A fun combination, but not pizza-y enough for me. Â I think my favorite so far is the chicken sausage pizza with gorgonzola- my friend ordered it and gave me order envy.
Review Source:My husaband and I have only visited this place once, and usually I would think about writing a review after I had visited more than once.. However, this is a very sweet local joint that I just had to comment on. Â The servie was good, beer selection wasn't huge, but they did serve some local Colorado beers at a great price, and the pizza was delicious. Â The place was fairly small, but with a good atmosphere. Â I can't wait to go back and try this place again. Â This will become our go to place for sure!
Review Source:Went in late night last night to find a surprisingly good local band playing. Â Place had a couple of large tables but was pretty open for seating at 11 when we arrived. Â Ordered a cracker crust pizza to give it a whirl, and it was served so fast and so delicious!
Definitely looking forward to making this a regular place. Great beer on tap, fabulous and unusual pizzas to eat and live music. Great place!!
Our waitress, oddly enough, was the same as the night we were there the fist time, and she was very friendly and helpful with pizza ideas and such. Â Thanks, Jessica!
Yum! Â Some friends took me here a few weeks ago as part of a mini-bachelorette party, and we had a great time.
It was 9 or so on a Saturday night, but we were actually seated quickly. Â They had a great selection of beer as well as mixed drinks-- they happily made me an apple 'tini that turned out great. Â Service was a little slow, but to be fair, pizza is slow, and they were swamped and kept our drinks and waters full, so we were happy. Â Live music was fun and actually pretty good.
Some of the toppings offered are pretty strange, like hot dogs and pears. Â We went with the "buffza" (buffalo chicken) and the margherita. Â I loved both the blue cheese dressing/sauce on the buffza and the fresh mozzarella on the margherita-- not sure which I liked best. Â We had the traditional crust on both, and I'd say calling it New York style was a stretch. Â It was a little too thick and chewy, not thin and foldable, which makes it more Colorado style-- which I'm a fan of!
I'm in downtown Littleton fairly often, and I'll definitely add McKinner's to my list of places to frequent.
I got some slices here for lunch. I think the pizza is above average. Â It is not NY style but it is thin crust (just a bit more on the crunchy side than NY style). Almost closer to a STL style I would say. Â They have a lot of toppings to choose from, including some that I am not used to seeing like hotdog and pear. Â I went relatively safe and got garlic and jalepeno on one and green olive on the other. Â I liked both. Â I would like to come back.
Review Source:Gosh darn it I really want this place to be better!!!! Ok Mckinners is across the street from the boutique I own and I do love some pizza... HELLO I think I've mentioned more then once that I love me some warm carbs. So the place itself is not too shabby, really like the vibe and the staff and the owner's pretty rad too! (again I really want this place to be better!!!) The pizza's all sound super fantastical great ideas and food flavors to admire, but the crappy crust gets me every time!!! One cannot enjoy pizza if the crust taste like the weird pizza crust from elementary school, You know the one with the weird holes in the bottom, yup as much flavor as that except dryer. bleh! :( so sad too bad. I mean it just makes me sad! If they get better crust I can assure you I'd rock this place once a week, but with school yard crust 2 stars from me,
Review Source:Great service even when they are crazy busy. Â The waitress kept checking in on us while we waited for our pizza. Â
We went on the same night that there was a great family fest in downtown Littleton and they were selling pizza by the slices out there. Â So it took longer to get our food, but it was worth the wait. Â Great crispy crust on their thin pizza, and that was what I was looking for.
Fun place to start if going out, or bringing the family, or to end if you went out. Â I will be back.
I would go here just for the ambiance. Â The Pizza mixes are awesome. Â However, if you order a traditional pizza with one topping only, the sauce almost doesn't add to your pie at all. Â
The staff is friendly and talkative and just laid back. Â There were a few handsome men at the bar when I was there on a Sunday night which made my visit really an eye full as well as a stomach full. Â Yay!
We were in the mood for pizza on Friday and decided to try a new spot. Â We checked out the menu and there was a lot that caught our eyes. Â They have a wide variety of flavor options that I appreciate. Â We ordered to go and I almost wish we stayed as the bar and feel of the place were quite inviting. Â The pizza was good; not the best, but good enough. Â Not sure I'll be rushing back for pizza, but will definitely be back for drinks and appetizers!
Review Source:I feel I may need to give them another try.
My friend went here on night to try something closer to home. We waited so long at the door we almost walked out. [We thought since no one came in the over 5 mins of us standing in the doorway and everyone already seated watching us as if we were crazy that they were closed.]
we got some half-assed put together table. It wasn't near the other tables and was more like the table behind a booth you put all your kids to eat at.
we noted the high quality ingredients on the menu and were excited to try them out. We weren't in a drinking mood but took note of the large beer selection. Our waitress wasn't too focused on helping us as much as the guys behind us. but we were still excited to try the pizza that was coming.
we ended up waiting for almost 35 mins for a medium pizza. They didn't seem that busy that we needed to wait for our small pie. But we were happy to see it get to us.
The pizza was really rich but sadly the wait wasn't worth it. I have had much better pizza's with less wait, just as good ingredients and at a much better price. our medium one topping pie put us back almost 13 bucks.
Disappointed with our pricey pie we grabbed our check. We were starting to get uncomfortable with the very very drunk middle aged ladies next to us talking about the joys of child-birth when they were in their 20's. But we were forced to wait for about 10 mins waiting for our check to get picked up and for use to be given change till our waitress got back from her break [or where ever she ran off to]
But i give this place a 3 star because It wasn't horrible and I feel it would be better if I came in another time. Maybe this time in the day.
This is a fantastic Downtown Littleton pizza bar. It's a great space with a good sized bar. Â The pierogies are my favorite appetizers and the salads are large and fresh. The pizza is very good. Try the cream cheese, prosciutto, and pineapple! We have been many times and it will always be a favorite in southwest suburbs. They also have live music on the weekends although in such a small place don't plan on having a conversation while the band is playing.
Review Source:While McKinner's is bit on the small size, it is huge on quality. What a great little independent pizza spot.
The have a lot of pluses going for them:
- creative and traditional pizza selections
- good beverage selections
- excellent friendly service
- lovely location in Old Downtown Littleton
- live music!
If you haven't been to McKinner's I'd say give it a try for a casual, fun and tasty night out.
The pizza really isn't anything special in my opinion but the service alone bumped this place up a star. Â The bartenders were really friendly and accommodating, especially considering my girl can be quite picky with her pizza. Â With decent salads, a good beer selection, and a really unique atmosphere, this place would be a fun place to spend a Friday night.
Review Source:Nice local joint. Small, with a nice bar. Lots of good beer choices. Easy to miss if you are not looking for it.
Excellent salad, we had the Greek salad, which was on a half head of lettuce, with chopped green beans in addition to the usual. Pizza Margherita was excellent, very good cheese.
pizza.
Yet another gem in the heart of Littleton. While the food is a bit pricier than other restaurants in town, the ingredients used are quality matching the taste of the food. This is by far my favorite place to catch a game as the beer selection is awesome and very cheap. They are extremely generous when pouring wine and mixed drinks as well. My only complaint is they don't serve single slices, which would be nice when sitting and having a beer at the bar. They have live music every Saturday night, which is very loud, making it difficult to have a conversation. I recommend to anyone!
Review Source:This place was introduced to me by my late friend Shane Clark who died of brain cancer a couple of years ago. It's also where I took my wife on our second date! It was loud and hard to hear her because she's a quiet talker and the couple at the table next to us was fighting all the time. I tried given them annoyed looks and it didn't work. Haha. Anyway, they have great pizza, and downtown Littleton is a great place to go for a quick meal. Hopefully we can come back soon.
Review Source:After several more visits, I can officially say that McKinner's is my favorite pizza place in Littleton. (But don't worry, Marco - I'm not cheating on you!) I finally branched out a few times to try other pizzas, but I just keep coming back to the PBR salute. To me, it's the perfect combination of pizza flavors. I strayed one time and tried the proscuitto and pear pizza (it sounded good!), and was sorely disappointed. The pear tasted canned, and the proscuitto had a weird flavor and texture that didn't sit well with me. The other pizzas we've tried have been great though. Maybe one of these days, I'll branch out and try a non-pizza entree!
We've tried most of the appetizers here now - the jalapeno poppers are my favorite, followed by the pizza fries (which to me are really a bit more like cheesy almost-breadsticks). Not as great: the red chicken. It's pretty much a grilled chicken breast sliced into 5 pieces and dunked in wing sauce. It wasn't bad (in fact, the wing sauce had really good flavor); it just seems kind of wimpy and pricey for what it really is (and it sounds silly, but the presentation is lacking).
They don't have an extensive beer menu, but they have enough to cover the major bases for me - only one NASCAR beer on tap (according to their website menu, but it's different from what was in the restaurant the other night), and the majority of the rest of the draft beers are local. The beer pricing seems more reasonable to me than most other places (I think all drafts besides Guinness were less than $4). I don't recall much about HH but according to their website, it's late-night only (after 10pm). Oh, another bonus - live music on Saturday nights. Woooo!
CamStar rating of Epic!
The best pizza bar in Littleton! Chris and Kevin have done a great job in developing a great menu. The waitstaff is excellent and personable.
McKinner's is home to one of my favorite bartenders. Next time you stop in to the pizza bar strike up a conversation with John, he is a class act!
2nd visit I was sitting there watching the pizza chef TOSS THE PIZZA HITTING THE CEILING TILES OVER AND OVER! I couldn't believe he did it with a window in back of him looking out to the dinning room. No one noticed. Then he made another pizza  HITTING THE CEILING WITH THE DOUGH AGAIN. I think this stoner pizza man was doing this since he hated his life or job.
Review Source:If you are looking for a traditional New York style pizza, this is not your place. Â That said, this is a really great pizza.
I like McKinners pizzas. Â I have eaten here three times now, and each time has been a great experience, including the time that I came with eight other adults and several toddlers. Â Their pizza toppings are extensive and all very high quality. Â They do not use gloppy amounts of cheese and the crusts are available in several thicknesses. Â I have tried eight pizzas, all different, and all from their menu, and never had a bad thing to say about any of them. Â Prices are quite reasonable for such great quality. Â Wonderful atmosphere.
This past Sunday, I broke down and tried the chili cheese dog pizza. Â It was interesting and delicious, though it could have used more chili to really get some of the flavor through. Â I would order it again, but next time I will request extra chili on there.
This place has a cozy "small-town" feel to it somehow. I really like that. Even though Littleton isn't really small at all, this place seems like a very friendly neighborly place with good pizza and drinks.
I usually create my own pie when I come here, but they have a great list of unique-topping pizzas to choose from. Some even have broccoli! Some also have chicken basil sausage. I love unique toppings. I have yet to find a pizza place that puts sliced potatoes on a pizza, though (like a place in Boston). I will continue my search.
This is my favorite pizza pub in Littleton. The food is excellent, the owners (Keven & Chris) are great guys...always there to help. We took a large group there one night and everyone had a great time and raved about the food. Â Lots of great beers, wines and liquor to pick from. The only place in Littleton that keeps Famous Grouse on the back bar.
Review Source:I was treated to a surprise early birthday dinner at McKinners on Thursday night. Â Apparently we had reservations but really didn't need them.
I loved the atmosphere here. Â The pizza was made pretty much right in front of your face since the kitchen is behind some glass at the front of the restaurant. Â I also love that it is right on Main Street in Old Town Littleton. Â All the shops and restaurants in the area are pretty unique. Â You can make a night or day of it just hanging out down here.
Our waitress was very sweet and we were allowed to bring in our own birthday cake. Â I don't think many places let you do that. Â Service was pretty slow. Â I guess the pizzas take a while to cook, but it still seemed extra long considering it our waitress paid little to no attention to us during the wait.
We ordered a couple appetizers, the jalepeno poppers were very tasty. Â The prosciouto was a nice addition. Â The menu has some very unique pizzas on it. Â We ordered 3 for 6 people. Â I have to recommend the hot diggity dog (a chili dog pizza) and the chickenzolarella. Â Both were delicious and unique. Â The other one we ordered was plain pepperoni, but I don't think this is the type of place you go for traditional pizza. Â It was OK, not great.
One thing I didn't like was the automatic gratuity of 20% on parties of 6 or more. Â Being a former server/bartender, I have no issue with automatic gratuity, but typically this is reserved for parties of 8 or more and is only 18%. Â I guess I am nitpicking at this, but it did put me off a bit. Â
I'd certainly go back, like I said, it's a unique place and we had a good time.
Oh my goodness....the pizza. Â So delicious. Â They use high quality ingredients and make a mean crust. Â I tried the Lucky 7: fontina, gorgonzola, provolone, parmesan, romano, saprofina ricotta, and mozzarella...and added basil chicken sausage and sundried tomatoes. Â YUMMMM. Â I also tried the Chickenzolarella: basil chicken sausage, garlic ricotta sauce, basil, gorgonzola and mozzarella. Â It was very spicy and oh so good. Â I like the variety of toppings...some of them unusual, including frankfurters, chili, cream cheese, pears, mandarin oranges, and dill pickles. Â My husband tried the Elvis sandwich...bananas, peanut butter, honey, and bacon. Â Surprisingly delicious...and nutritious! Â (well, maybe not the bacon part....)
They have a full bar, with great drink specials throughout the week. Â I went with the Saturday special: $2.50 Harp drafts. Â Can't beat that! Â One of the owners was tending bar that night, and was super friendly and gave great service. Â He even poured my girlfriends and I the extras after making cosmos and martinis. Â The other owner is Canadian, and decided to put one of his favorites, Kokanee Canadian Lager on tap. Â This is the only place in Denver that carries this beer on tap. Â He was eager to give us a taster of it (reminds me of Rolling Rock), and is a great deal at only $3.50.
I really like McKinners...a lot....it's such a great little place to hang out with friends, grab some awesome pizza and beer, and even watch a game on the huge flat screen behind the bar. Â They also have live music on Saturday nights from 10pm-12am....but be sure to get there early because it fills up fast!
I'm sorry that Monique didn't get to try the pizza, because it's some of the best pizza in town.
It's artisan style oven-baked pizza. The ingredients are all top notch, and they obviously use fresh mozzarella because it has melted together SO nicely on top of each pizza I've gotten here. I'm partial to the pepperoni and mushroom, but they have a crapload of ingredients to choose from. (What's that spellcheck? Crapload's not a word!?)
The slight downside is that the pizza is expensive.
It's certainly the best pizza south of Evans in Denver.
I feel bad that Monique had a bad experience here...I had the opposite. Â Four of us stopped in to McKinner's after driving by a few times and wondering about it. Â From the moment we opened the door we were hit with the wonderful smell of pizza. Â The place was all decked out for St. Patty's Day and they were running some drinks specials as well. Â The green beer happened to be Bud Light but what do I care--I was being festive.
We got two pies--the PBR special and the Margarita. Â The PBR had pepperoni, black olives, red pepper flakes, basil, feta and mozzarella. Â It had some serious heat behind it. Â No need for extra red pepper on top. Â The margarita pizza was my choice--and of course my favorite! Â The tomatoes were nice and juicy and the basil was fresh! Â
My odd boyfriend decided he wanted the Elvis sandwich. Â It was grilled with bananas, peanut butter, honey and bacon. Â Sounds pretty disgusting, right? Â Well, it wasn't. Â It was pretty darn good. Â I just wonder how many brave (or silly) souls actually order the thing.
Overall, I was pleased with the experience. Â We had beer and pizza and a fairly good waitress. Â I'll probably be back!
