Ate late lunch today. What a great restaurant in the middle of nowhere. We had a small green salad loaded with cucumber and tomato and onion with a delicious vinaigrette dressing. Then shared a falafel pita and a spicy chicken pita. Both were cooked to perfection! The chef went out of his way to make sure everything was fine and our waiter was attentive and friendly.

Not bad.  We happened by while passing through Kanab and had an excellent lunch for 25 bucks. Recommended if you're passing through and looking for respite from the usual burgers/BBQ that you get in southern Utah.

I debated between 2 and 3 stars but given the limited options in Kanab, I decided to be nice.

The good: the bread was yummy! The atmosphere was decent. The falafel pita that one of my dining partners ordered was pretty tasty. The price was decent (not super cheap, but reasonable).

The bad: service was bad. The waitresses were overwhelmed, which at least one other reviewer has commented on as well. Food came out slow. The restaurant was 2/3 full and it's small. They need to learn to handle a "busy" night. Secondly, the gyro was awful. I've never had chopped gyro meat, but I don't ever want to again. I'll stick to the sliced stuff. The pita bread was bland and not very fresh. The tzatziki sauce was way too thick and didn't have that great of flavor. All in all, would not recommend the gyro to anyone.

Worst "meat" gyro in the universe. Falafel gyro fared better. Steak/fries seemed popular. Steer clear.

Not sure how this had 4 stars which typically indicates good food
Food inconsistant , served  cold meat balls, undercooked rice in the grape leaves (hard), in fairness   some food tasted very good, some horrible , busy 4th of July tourist overwhelmed kitchen but definitely couldn't rate it any higher

The owner/chef Elizabeth Berkhoudt lived in Italy and Greece for 10 years following her husband's employment.  Her husband is now employed in the Kanab area and will be for some time.  Elizabeth had studied culinary arts while living in the Mediterranean and decided to open her own restaurant.  She has only been open since April of 2012.

The food is excellent and the prices quite reasonable.  Her menu is mostly Italian and Greek.  The menu runs the gamut from soup, salad, sandwiches, mains and desserts all made from scratch.  She even bakes her own bread served with a roasted garlic and sun dried tomato olive oil dip.

I ate there twice during a three day stay.  I had the Horiatiki (Greek salad), Dolmades (stuffed grape leaves), Baba Ghanoush and Tzatziki (dips).  My dining companions on the second time had a Panini and Souvlaki plate, I sampled both.  Everything was as good or better than the items that are served at my local Greek Church Food Bazaar, which serves up homemade items by very good cooks.

Elizabeth will be changing and adding items to her menu in June of 2012.  She will even have outdoor dining in the evening using the patio of Jakey Leigh's coffee house down the block (Jakey's hours are 7 AM to 2 PM).  She plans to vary her menu depending on the season, so check her web site (listed in the description).

We came from SLC to hike Buckskin Gulch and hopefully The Wave and decided to try out this new restaurant. The staff was friendly and fun  and the food even better. LOVED the caprese salad, the hummus, baby bakers, falafel, mixed berry crumble...it was all fantastic! Would definitely come again.

The little restaurant that can. An excellent less expensive alternative to the Rocking V. My dad and I rolled into Kanab late, but The Mediterranean table was still open. Over two days we tried the steak frites, risotto, stuffed peppers and salads everything was tasty and satisfying. The best was the humus. We liked it so much we ordered it to go. Good luck Mediterranean Table thanks for the food.

For the price, this place is pretty fabulous.  It is brand new, been open about a month.  No liquor license yet, but they said they have all the approvals.

We are passing through, staying down the street at the local Best Western.  I was walking up to the State Store to buy some beer (this is Utah after all) and the smells of the cooking coming out the door were pretty intense.  My wife and I have been on an extended  car trip around the Southwest and are sick and tired of ribs and Tex-Mex and, well you know the rest.

We went for an early dinner.  The souvlaki was as good as we had on Naxos, the salad ($2.50) with a home made herb dressing was great and my wife's baklava, she said was just right.

The dessert menu even looked good to this non dessert eater.

This was served in a little cafe dressed up with table cloths, good greek pictures, good service and  a nice ambiance for a very small town in Southern Utah. Very neighborhoody and very nice.

If you are here, pass on the cowboy stuff and have a really good meal for a very small price tag.

    It was great!
