Mel's Diner

I have not been there or awhile so we thought we would try it on Sunday AM. The kitchen was having big time problems. They lost 6 tickets and it took over an hour  to figure it out. Once we got it, it was OK but we were overcharged for breakfast. Too bad I used to like this place.

Where to begin, after I order & got my coffee I went to restroom, came back my table had been cleared for ? reason.  I order a bacon and american cheese omel. and received a ham and chedder omel.  The prepared an new order that was correct, however the potatoes were cold and a slice of amer. cheese was tossed on top as like an after thought but at least the right order.  While I was waiting I noticed another table having send there order back.  When I received my bill I received a cursory sorry about that but adjustments on the bill.  I hadn't eaten there in several years because the last time I was served sausage patties that were unfit for consumption (my waiter told there had been several complaints about the meat and passed my complaint to the mgr who ignored me) and off course not adjusts were offered on the bill even though it was not fit to eat.  I rarely complain about mistakes or poor quality food but this place is amazingly bad.  I ate there a lot about 5 years ago and it was great then, what happened?

Loved this place, had the Friday night fish platter, the Cod was good, reminded me of a Friday night meal up in Eagle River Wisconsin. The staff was very nice, the owner very friendly, the owner even prints on the menu Worlds greatest staff. How about that.

I saw a few negative posts above from the penny pinchers. If your hot over one dollar, maybe they should eat at McDonald's.

Come to Mel's, lots of neon, and old license plates. Spotted one from our ex governor who will soon be out of jail.
