The food was great! Â I ordered fried catfish with a side salad and green beans. Â The green beans were awesome! Flavored well (down south taste) and definitely not canned! Â The catfsih was seasoned well, fried and flaky. Â The dinner rolls were yummy. Â The side salad was just iceburg lettuce but its like saying Paula Deene is known for making salads and she isn't!! I asked for vinagrette and you would have thought I cursed the lady - she said we have creamy italian! Â
Now, the place looks like Mel's Diner - it even sits in front of a pay by the hour type motel. Â I debated getting out the car, but decided to go for it. Â It definitely has a Mayberry feel. Â The service was horrible. Â I walked in, no one greeted me. Â The one lady kept stapling the daily specials to the menus. I spent most of the time talking to the back of my waitress's head as she walked away because she never made eye contact, brought me extra napkins, a straw, refilled my drink or anything else.
HOWEVER, if you look like you belong in Mayberry then you will receive awesome service! Â However, if you are just passing through or happen to have a designer shades or a handbag expect to be treated like an alien! Â There is no southern hospitality to strangers at this diner!
