The Tin Fish provides a great dining experience, though a few recent gaffes worry me. Â My co-workers and I went there during their opening week, and we were treated great. Â Free appetizer, a visit from the chef, and even though they didn't have their liquor license yet, we had a good time. Â The fish was good, and I got a kick out of seeing the table next to us get a puff of cotton candy for dessert.
Had lunch there after that time (where we had a great view of the river), but when we tried to go again, the place was (we assumed) closed. Â They weren't normally open on Mondays, but this was supposed to be the first time they were. Â We got in the elevator, hit the button for the 6th floor...and got nothing. Â We went to the 5th, tried climbing stairs to the 6th, and found the door locked. Â I felt especially bad for the elderly couple who rode the elevator with us, also hungry.
It wasn't until we were leaving that we heard that the owner had just gotten to the building, but they weren't going to be open that day anyway. Â The food is decent, the ambiance is great, but it's simply unacceptable that the place wasn't open when they said they would be.
