Middle Country Beer Garden

Totally not a beer person, went here on Halloween night. Pretty cool place :)

Good selection of beer.
But should be ashamed to call itself a Beer Garden, Doesn't compare to the Beer Gardens in the 5 Boroughs or in Hudson Co.
I walked in on a Thursday, there was country line dancing there.
Frightening scene.

overall weak.

My singles gp arrived on a Thur. night to learn how to stomp, um, line dance. The first two line dances were uncomplicated, but the last, well...a complicated four part'er. Know that if you don't wear your cowboy/combat boots you may take a hard heel to the ankle w/o being able to return the favor. There is no room for freestyle dancing. Security carded two of our women...over fifty they  were. Dude! He looked me up and down. Whatever he was lookin' for, he did'unt find. The dance floor was comprised of compressed wall board encircled by straw bales. I am still pickin' straw outtta my stretch jeans. The floor is not made for dancing, but dance they did, and some with aplomb. One of our gp who teaches dance said, "Finally, some men who know the steps". There are many regulars by the looks of it-30-40. One barmaid, was wearing dark jeans, cut off, rolled...bet she was ticked to cut off her good jeans for work. The bar service was good and welcoming. I had a hankerin' for some vittles but none were offered. I saw three peanuts in a basket. Plan to stand on your haunches all night. There are only a few bar stools. I was the biggest hay seed there...MO b. and  raised. I never saw line dancing before this night other than on TV. I think there was a lot more butt shakin' than would be allowed in the Bible belt. It felt like a new addition to country dance. The band was County Line and at $5, they produced a great show...Save A Horse, Ride A Cowboy, got the crowd riled up. Thur. nights are dedicated to line dance. I'm glad I gave it a try. Some of the gp took a liken' to it. Give me DJ. All that country has fallen by the wayside...it was all child labor, no pay, anyway.
