The place was good, the waitress was nice but, the doorman (Jimmy) was a complete douchebag over seating arrangements. We decide to leave due to his power trip apparently this isn't the first time he has done this. No wonder the place has only two stars! My suggestion hire a new doorman that isnt rude to customers. If you don't like your job Jimmy, get another one.
Review Source:We were all enjoying our night here, but when we tried to move a chair so that all five of us could sit together the doorman was a total jerk. There was nobody using the chair, but they made one of my girlfriends sit in a plastic folding chair. The doorman yelled at the one guy who was with us and told him to give up the cushy chair, but refused to let us have one of the open chairs from the empty tables. His exact words to my friend were "if you're a man, you'd give up your chair." The owner defended the doorman on the grounds that teenagers who go there are rowdy. That's fine, but we havent been teenagers in ten years. I'll never go there again.
Review Source:It's the only hookah bar in town so everyone goes there in my opinion. The cheesy bread and gyros and hookah are delicious, but the service is horrible. In my opinion, it is just the little "hipster dive" that all of the 18 yr old kids go on their birthdays because they think that they are the coolest things ever and are totally ignorant about how horrible the place is!
Review Source:This place has an identity crisis. Is it a Mediterranean hookah cafe? A hip hop club? Or an after school teen hangout? The hookah and beer was nice, but the music was way too loud to enjoy my friends, and the seats were not good at all to get my Cheshire Cat lounge on. The food was a salt lick, with crunchy bits similar to when I don't wash the soil off of my spinach. Basically all they have is hookahs and a location. If any competition opened up they would be out of business.
Review Source:Wow this place is... No. I have only been here for hookah and appetizers, so I couldn't say how the food is, but based on my experience there, I have no desire to go back and try it. The music is louder than at a concert and gave me an awful headache, and though the hookah was in the same price range as any other place, the servers were not attentive at all towards taking care of it once you have received it. Bouncer is scary. Not going back.
Review Source:i feel like the mirage has so much potential. the interior could use brighter colors, and a little more attention to detail. at times it feels damp and dark; cheap almost. the server i've had the past couple times there barely ever smiles, and has a somewhat rude demeanor. other than that, it's a great place for a unique hangout/bar night. $1.50 beers on the happy hour menu, handmade pizzas, and belly dancing are some great reasons to discover the mirage.
Review Source:I have been curious about this place for about a year but I couldn't see myself having a good time in Frederick. I was wrong. I had a good time here on Friday night. The place was clean,our server was attentive but not intrusive,the hookah was good,reggae playing all night and the crowd was adults. I decided to go back on Saturday with my gf again and the place transformed into teen-town...kids jumping out of their seats and running outside to see their "homies" and coming back in making lots of noise and blowing smoke straight at other people and at the windows to tease their under aged buddies outside. 4 stars are for Friday and Saturday gets none so they get a 2.
