Ok I found something on the menu that is quite good, the wraps they have there are very tasty, and the onion straws are awesome especially since they have fried breaded jalapenos in them!  I am updating my score on this place

Great place for lunch.  Burgers cooked to order - I had the Big Steve topped with pulled pork.  Nice service.

The Hubby and I stopped in last night.  We got saganaki and pizza.  The food was pretty good the service....not so much.  It wasn't busy but it was still hard to get the bartender to pay attention to us.  She came over when we first sat down, but was MIA much of the time after that.  It was not busy.

The Hubby told me later (he didn't want me getting mad) that the cook came out to tell her that our appetizer was ready and she proceeded to change channels on the TVs for the next 5-10 minutes while it sat there.

She was also one of those bartenders that cannot be distracted (maybe why she ignored our food to finish the task at hand).  I ordered another beer and then someone came to talk to her briefly and all was forgotten about my drink order.

Since the food was good we said we might try it again, but sit a table next time.  Though none of the servers looked very happy to be there, at least maybe they'll be more attentive.

My dad stops in a lot and I asked him how his service has been.  He responded with "spotty" so unfortunately it wasn't just a bad night.

And they put the Bulls game on every single TV in the place.  The Hubby and I hate basketball so it would have been nice if they left a few TVs alone.  I have never seen a place packed with TVs all have the same thing on unless it was huge game.

Since McMichaels is running for Mayor I hope he can service the people of Romeoville better than his bar does!

Best pizza in town. Make sure to get it with fresh mozzarella.
I've enjoyed everything I've gotten at Mongos, including pizza, fried fish, various appetizers and saganaki.

I stopped by on a Friday afternoon. It wasn't very busy. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich and fries. The sandwich was good, but the fries were horrible. Burnt so badly, they were hard as a rock. I told the waitress and she took them back to the kitchen while loudly complaining about me to whoever was back there. Here's the kicker: She never returned!! I had to track down another waitress to pay for the meal that I only got half of.

Too bad. I will not return.

The wife and I stopped in here on a Thursday just to try the new spot in town. Apparently that's the wing day so it was packed. We were crammed at a high table between two tables with more people sitting at them than there should've been. The atmosphere was loud and full of obnoxious middle aged drunkards whom you could tell had been there since after work and didn't look like they were even close do done. We had to hear the lady behind us yelling to the person next to her all evening about her bastard of a boyfriend and her life story.

Service was very below par. It took 15 mins before someone came over to introduce themselves as our server, then we literally saw her 3 times throughout dinner. Once for ONE beer, then to serve our food, then at the end when waited another 20 mins for a check.

The food was terrible... My steak on the steak sandwich was like eating a rubber tire with some salt. The wife's chicken wrap looked horrible and tasted just the same. We would've complained if our waitress was ever around to talk to.

It's a shame cause we usually frequent sports bars and love them, even the dive places. This place is just a dive, period. Slapping a 'big name' on a restaurant and hiring a bunch of girls for their looks instead of skills doesn't mean the place will be amazing. We definitely won't be back.

A couple more visits to this place and all is still well.  The first revisit was for a retirement party.  The whole back room with the dartboards and pool tables was reserved for the party.  We had quite a few people packed into the space, but the waitresses worked extremely hard to keep us watered and corraled.  The food, while I'm not remembering what exactly we had (thanks tequila shots and coworkers), but I do know it was good.  Later on, while trying to quickly sober up, I was pounding coffee (which was very good for bar coffee) and ordered a bowl of baked French Onion soup.  Excellent, beyond comparison.   Also that night, we got to meet the man himself, who was a gracious host who took pictures and signed autographs.

Third visit.  Now I think this time it had more to do with the company I kept than the place itself, but then again, I really have to feel comfortable in a place to get out and dance.  Holy Hell, I had a blast.  Found a great deal on drinks: $2 PBR cans which I happily drank all night.  They DJ they had that Saturday night wasn't the absolute best I've ever heard, but he did his job and got people out to dance.

We had the pizza on the third visit as well, and it was very good.  Thin crust, not too greasy, and the sauce not to acidic.  I plan to order from here soon, for they now offer local delivery of all their menu items.

Nothing special about this place. While it has lots of big screens and is spacious enough, the service was pretty awful and the food nasty. I wondered if maybe this was Mcmichaels recipes or him actually cooking this nasty bar grub. The cheese burgers are moshy and the fries pretty dry and over cooked. If you want a place to watch television and drink then this is the place. if you are hungery you are better off going to Burger king down the street.

I came here for their Sunday wing day, primarily because I needed a place where I could watch simultaneous Euro 2012 matches being played. This place had a ton of TV's, a few regulars and other families, and a lot of Bears memorabilia, which will be forgiven since I'm a Vikings fan.

The bartender was very nice. I ordered 6 bourbon wings and 6 asian zing wings. They took a surprisingly long time to come out given how few people were there, but they were fresh out of the fryer. The wings were reasonably sizable, crispy, and meaty. I am a big fan of providing slightly more sauce than necessary, and they did this quite well: lathered rather than flooded. The sauces themselves were very good. Even with the wing special, they still included celery and carrots, which is a huge plus!

This is a great sports bar. Many TV's, helpful staff (they were all too happy to switch channels for me). It was very clean, especially the bathroom. The back room has billiards and darts. This place completely blows Stone City Saloon out of the water: it doesn't have hidden fees associated with specials and it has more attentive staff. Since I'm only in the area for the summer, I want to try as many new places as I can, but I might try to make a second trip to Mongo's. I was impressed!

I liked it, thought it was good. Even my 6 yr old ate his dinner.
And plenty of games on the TVs so I didn't have to just talk to my wife.

Mongos is OK. Burger special is what brought us in. Good deal and lots of specials throught the week. We had been there weekly, but one time when they were not very busy at all, we were asked for a credit card to run a tab. This did not sit well with us and we decided to leave. Have not been back since and have gone to Stone City Saloon where they actually remember you. Mongos has its palce but I think it is for the Nascar, Redneck tight crowd.

Good food with reasonable prices.  Got in and out in under an hour for lunch.

Stopped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised.
A definite haven for Bears fans for obvious reasons.  Large spacious sports bar and restaurant. Adorned with flat panels and Bears memorabilia. Large bar in the center with ample table seating around. They also have a large banquet room for private functions.

Service was really good. Our waitress took very good care of us. Typical selection of burgers, wings, sandwiches, and wraps. I opted for the Big Steve burger. I massive burger with pulled pork and onion straws smothered in BBQ sauce. My gosh, I could only eat half. Couple that with a cold beer and sweet potato tots. Insane good.

Great place to hang with friends and enjoy the game.

    Cheers!

I already gave it a 1 star last time. Usually I would expect bad food from a place and then not ever give it another thought. However as a company we ordered from there again. I did not get a bacon cheese burger as I did last time because the bun and fries were soggy (we work 1 mile away and in that time it shouldn't have been that soggy) and the meat was absolutely tasteless. This time I ordered a bbq chicken wrap because 2 other employees ordered them last time and liked them.

Upon first sight...feel I was astonished. The take out container felt like it weighted 2-3 lbs. not what I would consider something for lunch. Then when I open the container, I am disgusted by this orange/brown "flour tortilla" that looks like it has been deep fried for 10 seconds. I am starving so I decided to eat it instead of going to get something else. The taste is ok and ok is being nice. Then in bite into something with a weird texture. Turns out there is 1 inch of (and about 1/2 inch still in my mouth) of a mozzarella stick. I love cheese, but this is gross.

This will be my last review of them because I will never eat their below sub-par food again. I wonder if Steve McMichael (owner and former Chicago Bear) has ever eaten there. If I were him, I would be ashamed to have my name on this dive.

    An unhappy customer,
    Brian Stoiber

Average bar food with subpar service. I think I'm gonna stop going to places that hire girls only because they look good. It's a recipe for a very long, unpleasant experience.

Great food....good prices too! Where else can you enjoy a football game with a Superbowl great? Mongo is a lot of fun to watch a game with! He can really give you insight about what happened and what is going to happen in the next play.

It has been so long since I have been out this way. I have seen this place change ownership so many times over the years. I figured that how can a place named after a Chicago Bears great let me down? It didn;t let me down. It was a solid experience. On the flip side, it really did not knock my socks off either.

We went here on a Sunday afternoon with a rather large party. The place was not very busy except for a couple of other larger groups. Our server was friendly but she seemed to disappear for long periods of time and there wee several times that our drinks went empty. This right here was the difference between a three and a four star rating!

I ordered a Reuben sandwich. it was a very good size and very tasty and a very good value. They also have sweet potato tater tots! Cha-Ching! I could come back for those alone! they were that tasty!. OVerall we had a good time here and the next time the opportunity presents itself, I will be stopping by for a few cold ones!

I have been to this place a few times. Each time I have been there I got the wings  and something else.. Everything i have tired was super except the poorboy. They are known for there poorboy but I didn't find it as great as seeemed. It is very clean and the waitress are usually good. Once I had one that wasn't so good but that can be any place. Prices are average and they do have a special each day. I don't drink so not sure about special on drinks. It is never crowded but think they are still building business. they have pool tables and dark boards that seem to draw some business.. I hadn't hear about any band or DJ and it is a big sport bar with alot of TV's and all have some kind of sports on them.
