Started with the black bean dip. It was ok. Add some Crystals hot sauce and it made it much better. Next course was a Jambalaya Po Boy. Not to shabby. Lots of stuffing for the bun. Once again a little Crystal Hot Sauce to kick it up a notch and it was a good inexpensive meal. Good selection of draft beer. It's Wednesday night and bike night. Band was setting up so later would probably be pretty good. I travel for a living and would recommend the place. Much better than a TGIF or Applebee's. Both bartender's were friendly and prices were reasonable. Food is homemade so it is a little slow getting it, but nothing to complain about. Enjoy.

Oh- what a disappointment:( my husband and I were really excited to try Moonshiners, since spending last Christmas in NOLA. We are on a quest to find great creole & Cajun cuisine here in WNY.
We went to Moonshiners on a Tuesday night around 730pm. When we got there, there were about 10 people seated at the bar just having drinks. No one was sitting at the tables having dinner. We decided to just sit at the bar.
The friendly bartender came over, we asked her for Abita( a beer that is brewed in NOLA) she never heard of it! REALLY! First strike. So we started with the black bean dip as an app, it was good. After finishing, we placed the rest of our order. At this time it was 8:15pm, I ordered the catfish PoBoy and my husband ordered the mufalatta sandwich. Two SANDWICHES! And no one else eating and only about 6 people now at the bar- we received our sandwiches at 8:45pm. It took a half hour for 2 sandwiches! We were really disappointed in that. Strike 2.
The food was just okay. Nothing special. We have had better PoBoys at Dick and Jenny's and Chester's, the mufalatta was kind of dry. Strike 3.
They get 2 stars because the bartender was nice and the bathrooms were very clean. Sorry to say- we will not be back.

Who knew I could get delicious Louisiana style food in Hamburg?

I've only been once but I'll be back for sure! The owners and staff were very friendly and the food was great. I tried the red beans and rice because I was afraid the gumbo wouldn't rival my mom's authentic recipe, but the red beans and rice convinced me that the chef knows what he's doing. I'm excited to return and continue tasting the menu.

Moonshiners also has multiple televisions and a projection screen we watched a Sabres game on and after the game on the Sunday I was there, they had a live band!

    What a fun time!

Great New Orleans style food in the middle of Hamburg, NY where every other pub serves wings & fingers (which they also serve to those less adventurous). Big projection screen for all the Sabres & Bills lovers and awesome live music a couple nights a week. LOVED the fresh ingredients in the steak street tacos & the chicken-n-Chilis is to die for! Gumbo, Jambolya, Bayou Shrimp bisque....mmmmmm!
