The weekday-only lunch buffet, though less than $10, is hit or miss. Nearly always perfect are the cakes: carrot, coconut, yellow and the fried fish fillets hiding amongst whole allspice, sweet peppers, onions, thyme, and scotch bonnet bits. If only their jerk chicken and ginger chicken wings were regular features, if only the sweet plantains were consistently moist and sweet, if only the curry goat wasn't so oily and salty, and if only they hadn't removed the cream cheese icing from that carrot cake. It still makes for good hangover food, but I come here less now that I know where to get better Caribbean food for similar prices.

Curry Chicken, peas and rice and sweet plantains - Absolutely delicious!

I used to come here for their lunch buffets about once a year for 5 years.  I took a 5 year break and upon returning, I was happy to see the food was just as good.  The lunch buffet is $8.60 now and offers a small selection of food, but it's definitely worth it.  Whatever curry dish happens to be out (curry chicken, goat, beef) will be good.  They had jerk pork which was ok, but I would have preferred it if it were jerk chicken.  They offer salad and fruit to cleanse your palate and a soup to warm you up but that's about it.  You really can't go wrong by trying it!

The restaurant is large, dark, and tropically decorated.  I would say it's attempting to be upscale, but it's so dark that you have to wonder...  The staff is friendly but they definitely take their time getting around.  I haven't been here for dinner for a while, but I remember it being very good.

    Spicy Heaven!

I went to Nakisaki for the first time last night.  Had the shrimp And fried ripe plantains for appetizers and the sizzling chicken with bell peppers for main course.  Didn't like that I had to peel the shrimp and it came with both tail and head, but it was quite tasty.  I would highly recommend the sizzling chicken, it was healthy and delicious.  Would definitely return.

I've never been here for a party... but the food is decent.. the only signature that separates them from others.. and I'm not saying it's a wow factor but the noticeable difference is their Rice and Peas. I could eat the rice by itself, very tasty. My Favorite Jamaican Dish is always and forever will be OXTAILS!!

I have driven past this place for years and never even gave this Chinese/Jamaican restaurant a second thought, but thanks to the suggestion of a coworker, I now look at Nakisaki in a different light.  We went for lunch recently, specifically for the the all you can eat $8.00 buffet lunch special, and surprisingly, the food was decent.  Although the buffet selection is small, what Nakisaki does offer is actually not bad.  The red bean soup with dumplings was probably the highlight for me.  It was spicy, but not overwhelming, and had a good flavor to it.  I also enjoyed the fricassee chicken.  I wish that they had more of a selection of foods to choose from, but for $8 I'm not complaining.

Service here was a bit too relaxed for my liking, but I must say that our table was promptly cleaned whenever we got up to fill our plates again.  Also, the dining area was clean, spacious and comfortable.

Although I'm not sure I would go out of my way to eat at Nakisaki again, I might consider it if I feel like changing up my routine and getting something different for lunch.  It sure beats peanut butter and bread.

Inconsistent to say the least. Amazingly the cook is Asian and was supposed to fuse a Jamaican Asian cuisine together. The thing is he cooks horrible Asian food and Okay Jamaican food. The best thing here is the Oxtails. Always pretty good but still has off days. The Jerk Pork can have some pretty amazing days here too. Everything else is just okay and sometimes not okay at all. Two stars tops.

Definitely love the food in this place! Good service is rare. I've been there at least 3 times and every time had a different waiter who either did a good job or a wack job.

I went to Nakisaki's for the $8.00 lunch special.   The only meat options was stew salty chicken and not too good looking fried fish.
The options were rice and peas or yellow vegatable rice and salad   The desert was very thinly slice carot cake    Because i was very hungry i ate the food but if i had the option i would eat somewhere else.

    Great restaurant.
Food is yummy and the price is right. Downstairs is club euphoria which is fantastic btw... The Decor is jamaican-chinese infused and is of quailty. The crowd is mature.

Coming from Englewood/NJ or Queens/NY it still a drive (20mins @ speed limit) out to long island.

When all said and done - would highly recommend and more importantly, return.

This place has been open forever ! I hadn't been here on years but my boyfriend and I decided to go last night. The food was okay. I had the combination plate, you get to choose two things for $16 I chose the oxtail & chicken and broccoli it came with rice and peas. I thought the oxtails were a bit tough the rice and peas tasted as though it had been microwaved and I didn't care for the Chinese chicken and broccoli. My boyfriend had the Cantonese fried rice which had chicken, beef and shrimp. He thought it was pretty decent. The drink that I ordered was disgusting, it's called a knockout. When I first started to drink it it tasted okay but the last half was the worse thing I ever tasted! I couldn't finish it. The service was not good. I won't be going back on a hurry. The food taste and quality has gone down.

i've got jamaican friends who have gone to nakisaki for years.  the nightclub aspects are good and if you like comedy then you wanna come thurday nights.  i'm surprised how mild the food tastes here.  the jerk pork isn't even spicier smothered with the jerk sauce.  the oxtail is decent but not as tender as i would've liked it.  they probably mass produce in batches for catering and in house dining.  i haven't tried the seafood or jerk tofu yet.  i'm not so crazy about jamaican chinese food anyhow.  but service is good and red stripe keeps you happy.
