This is a simple review, no frills, great sandwiches, and attentive staff: perfect combination for a great experience. Keep an eye out on those Nashua meter maids, I was enjoying my sandwich so much last time that I missed my meter expiration by 18 seconds, but the sandwich was so good that I didn't mind the added $15 ticket!
Review Source:I have been coming  here for a few years and love this place.
I like grabbing a few beers and getting a sandwich here to watch the game. It does get to be a bit crowded at night and during the peak hours on the weekends, but that's to be expected of a place with good sandwiches.
The sandwiches are not New York Deli sandwiches, but a different animal...a delicious animal.
These sandwiches are freshly made and can be custom made.
Table shuffleboard upstairs is a good time.
Oh, the veggie sandwich option here is a solid option also.
This is a great place to go to with friends and unwind. Since the first time I tried the Garden, I haven't gone back to Subway. There's just no comparison. They have plenty of sandwiches to choose from that are made fresh with quality meats and cheeses from Boars Head. The decor is every sports fans dream with vintage sports memorabilia all over the place. Gloves, photographs of Boston sports legends, old photographs of Nashua High School sporting teams, etc are all over this place giving it a unique look and style. They have a great beer selection as well and there staff is always great and personable. All of there sandwiches are named after Boston sports from the "Big Poppy" to the "Esposito" to the "Buckner" (two white pieces of bread with nothing in the middle) Awesome!
Definitely recommend this place to everyone. Full service bar upstairs, sandwiches with tables downstairs (you can also get beer downstairs). The upstairs bar is only open during the evening I think. I would imagine its because it gets busier at night but I'm not 100%.
Definitely check it out, guarantee you won't regret it!
As sandwich shops go this place is the BEST for lunch. Â I love their sandwiches, always fresh and delicious. If I could I'd eat there every day. They are a little slow when it gets busy, but it's understandable and worth the wait.
My only two negatives are first, the bathrooms need to be cleaner. Second not a fan of the late night bar upstairs, it gets way to crowded for such a small place.
Right in downtown nashua, The Nashua Garden offers a convienent place to grab a sandwich and a beer, which is all they have. The beer selection is decent. The staff is sort of friendly on a good day - but since this is supposed to be a representation of Boston I guess thats about right. The sandwich selection is OK, you can create your own if you dont find somthing you like. The ingredients are definently fresh (this is plus) but the bread is dry, not stale, dry. All in all a good spot for a sandwich and a beer, if thats exactly what your looking for. The night life is So-So
Review Source:The Garden is great. Â They serve sandwiches and beer, and they always have something good on tap. Â They about ten meat-based sandwiches and two or three vegetarian sandwiches, all with sports-based names. Â They offer a lot of toppings, such as a variety of cheeses, hots, vegetables, etc. Â The prices feel slightly pricey, but they really aren't; they're typical compared to any sandwich shops, whether local or chains such as Subway or Quiznos.
I've been to the Garden for a simple order pick up as well as to hang out at the bar upstairs, and even to see bands play. Â The place is small so it gets crowded very quickly, and generally I'm not a fan of the nightlife clientele. Â I prefer to stop in during a Sox game to get a sandwich and drink a beer on my own or with a friend or two.
I don't drink beer... so I cannot comment on that aspect of the Garden. They honestly have some of the best sandwiches in New Hampshire. The staff is always super friendly and willing to explain ingredients that you may not be used to. While you are there take a look around and see some of the sports memorabilia, you will not be disappointed. Bonus, they are open really late.
Review Source:Ah yes...The Garden. This little place makes a meaaan sandwich it is definitely a local bar to visit. This place has two floors the first floor is pretty much for eating their amazing sandwiches and hanging out, while the second floor caters to the night life Nashua tends to like. It's not too rambunctious but it's def a good time with a group and without. On Wednesdays they have their beat the clock with a decent selection of beers. Unfortunately they don't have hard liquor but this is the kind of place that is perfect without it. Big downside of the beat the clock is they only take cash! BUT there's a bank across the street that has an atm sooooo it's not so bad.
Review Source:Now, I don't live in New Hampshire, and I don't think I'd ever want to. Â There's something creepy that goes on up there where people from Portsmouth will grow up in the area their entire lives and for some reason never even venture to an area like Nashua. This concerns me. Â I'm pretty sure the motto should actually be, "Live Free in your tiny ass town you're entire life, never leave, or die." But that's a story for another day.
Getting back to the Garden, this is the exact type of place that I look for in Boston, and for some reason, I can never find the damn thing. Â How hard is to add in a balls to the wall deli that's got some superior combinations, to your day to day bar experience.
Good prices, solid beers, and they were playing Blink 182's Cheshire  Cat? I would normally think this is some made up version of a bar that I'd imagine in my head, but somehow it's real and only located in Nashua.  Throw in some shuffleboard, and I would make this place my official watering hole if I lived closer.
This is my type of place.
Since I've now been here well over the actual amount of check-ins I have here, I've had the pleasure of trying most of the sandwiches and have yet to find one I haven't enjoyed thoroughly. Also started experimenting with the myriad of "additions" you can put on a sandwich and have to say, cucumbers have a place on them. The upstairs bar is a fun place, different crowd from what you find downstairs and managed a table up there during the Stanley Cup Playoffs last year...intensity is the first word that comes to mind watching big games up there. The crowd is great, bartenders are generally friendly, of course when they know who you are, I guess that'll get you some preferential treatment of sorts.
I've also started coming here for lunch (not liquid lunch) as it's relatively close, inexpensive and I just love the feel of the place.
Some say that you don't really appreciate things until they're gone. For me, this holds true with the Garden... except it's not gone. I am. But I will always pay it at least one visit when I make trips back home to NH.
The Garden has quality sandwich meat and add-ins, but the fresh bread really makes it incredible. You can have them wrap up half of the sandwich to eat later, and (unlike Subway) it will still taste fantastic. Great selection of beer, and there is more Nashua and Boston sports memorabilia than you could ever imagine.
I don't know what it is about this place that compels women to write the most ridiculous, vile, and offensive things in the bathroom, but that stuff is hilarious. There is some pure gold scribbled on those stalls. Every time I go to the restroom at the Garden, I come out laughing hysterically.
Wednesday nights at 8PM they have "Beat the Clock," where (let's hope I'm remember this right) beer starts at $0.50 and the price increases by $0.25 every half hour. Happy hump day, indeed.
Finally, yes, the floor is creaky. When you sit downstairs, it can sometimes sound like HHH came back to Nashua and is throwing bodies around up there. But you know what? If I'm downstairs eating my Larry Legend, drinking my Dogfish Head beer while watching the Sox play and the floor actually DOES crash down on me... I'd die a happy woman.
Nashua Garden is Nausea's local sports bar. Â The place is ten feet wide and a hundred feet long and you're never farther from a TV than you can spew beer when John Lackey pitches another 'gem".
The downstairs has the best sandwiches in Nashua - all named after local sports heroes. Â Remember Phil Esposito? Â Rico Petrocelli? Â Sam 'Bam' Cunningham? Â I do - and they all have namesake sandwiches. Â
Upstairs there's no food but the beer flows like the water on the Nashua river. Â Sometimes you can smoke up there, too - which is how it used to be everywhere here in New Hampshire until all those out-of-state politicos decided that the natural order of man is to be swaddled in a diaper and clutching the milky teat of mommy government.
I went on a busy night and trying to move in the narrow space was difficult but once I found my friends and sat in a booth things were less claustrophobic. I ordered a green monster and it was great. I enjoyed all of the toppings there were to choose from (there were a lot). Even though it was busy the sandwich came out it good time.
Review Source:This was one of the very first places I went when I first came to New England, so I might be reviewing the Nashua Garden through slightly rose-tinted shades. However, one thing is clear: the Garden serves the best sandwiches in Nashua, with a variety of quality cold cuts on freshly baked sesame-seeded bread (seriously--they get a shipment every morning). They also have quite a variety of beers on tap and bottled. To say that the Garden is decorated in Boston sports memorabilia would be an understatement; the walls are covered in photos, posters, pennants, and other knicknacks. The ripped booths, narrow passageway, and uneven floors only add to the Garden's charm.
Service is a little spotty--it can take the guys quite a while to make a sandwich, and they won't be winning any awards for friendliness. And in case you're wondering, no, those guys in the ESPN ad don't really work there. Those are ACTORS. (I hope the guys who work there smack anyone who comes in and asks, "What's with the capocolla?" ESPN ruins everything.)
Dive bar? oh..we've got your dive bar alright..
No one will touch the ultimate dive sports bar in the immediate area.. Even Billy's in Manchester lacks the asthetics that the Nashua Garden oozes. Ripped seats, flat screens, old memorabilia, squeaky wood floors and probably the most offensive bathroom wall scribblings you'll find north of Boston.
The food? You come here for the sandwich, strictly. Scripted right out of the local sports scenes, youve got the 'Larry Legend" (my personal fave), or the 'Big Papi' as examples..dozens more to choose from (including a couple of hot soups and vegetarian choices). Boars head quality products sliced fresh off the block and served on a fresh, (local?) braided roll.
It's where the youngsters (aka amateurs) go to get their drink on heading into the weekend, so tends to lean towards the young crowd at night..but lunch/late lunch you get a more casual/older crowd. The beer selection is the best in Nashua bottled/tap with a solid selection of micros/craft/tap. Reasonably priced and daily beer specials.
You have this, or the chains..this will be my choice every time
Fresh, fresh, fresh! Â Been coming here for years, although not nearly as often as when I lived in Nashua. Â Recommend the Purple Panther, toasted, with a pint of something yummy from the taps. Â What other place can my wife and I go for great sandwiches, chips and a couple of beers for less than $20 including tip? Â No where!
Review Source:Sports themed sandwiches, beer, and homemade soups. The bar is small, cozy, and covered wall to wall in Boston sports memorabilia. Worth dining-in just to take in all the decor. Plus, there's usually a game on. I prefer ordering to go because the creaking floor above is too loud and distracting (also, it's hard to get a table outside unless you're one of the regulars or ride a motorcycle). The staff, though small, is always friendly and fast at preparation. Great place to get a fresh-tasting, Boars Head sandwich (once in a while).
Review Source:Went to the Nashua Garden for the first time today. Â They have quite the selection of sandwiches, the rolls were very soft and fresh and the portions are large (I split my sandwich). Â Additionally, they have a large selection of beer.
They have tons of memorabilia and many tvs to watch the sports.
As a sandwich enthusiast I am always on the search for a great sandwich. When one of my friends said, "I know this great sandwich shop down the street, that you'd like." I had to bite the bait and check it out.
Nashua Gardens is in the heart of down town Nashua and makes a pretty mean sandwich, as well as has a full stock of bottled bear and tap beers. The atmosphere inside is great for any Boston sports fan. The walls are framed with memorabilia that are signed by Boston athletes and rare pictures and tokens. Their sandwich line up is pretty simple, many of them are named after local legends. It's a 2 floor bar, but I only stayed on the first floor. Beer is cheap and food isn't that bad either.
Overall it's a pretty good place to hang our, have a beer and eat a sandwich. Lots of TV's to watch the game and lots of beer to drink!
I love the Garden. I go every Wednesday (and some) for beat-the-clock $1 beers starting at 8pm with the NHSSC (.com) sports league.
Their sandwiches downstairs are delicious. Great bread, great meat, nice menu choices, average price.
The place has character. If you're a Boston sports fan, you'll enjoy the walls covered in memorabilia. Hell, I'm a Yankees fan and I think it's awesome.
I love the Garden.
Ah, the Nashua Garden. What fond memories I have of this place that introduced me to NH night life...I always have fun here, and will occasionally chow down on a yummy sandwich in addition to my brew.
Downstairs is for eating/"watching the game" (as if...) and upstairs for games like air hockey, chilling at the bar and getting crunk with friends. With a staff that tends to be at least competent and usually friendly I'll keep coming back & back.
Best.
Sandwiches.
Ever.
Not only are the sandwiches at the downstairs deli the best I've ever had, but they offer a huge variety of suds. Â It's great to have a break from the Bud/Miller/Coors/Sam selections at so many bars. Â Any bar that stocks Rogue brewery (and even has it on tap) gets a huge thumbs up from me.
I miss being able to smoke upstairs while I enjoy a few pints, but that's not the fault of the Garden. Â I guess I'll have to wait 'til summertime or go next door to Castro's.
Best subs in Nashua!!!
Cool little sports bar w/ lots of memorablia on the walls. Â Another Nashua staple.
Great beers on tap, lots of tv's for watching the Sox on a nice hot summer day w/ a ice cold beer and a Petrucelli (their version of an Italian sub).
Many a brain cells have been killed from drinking 10 too many beers here.
