This place was great! Good location, right on the water. Plenty of space and we got in without much of a wait. Service was fantastic, the waitress remembered our names throughout the whole evening and took pains to suggest items, bring repeat bread, and refill water glasses. I had the MOST AMAZING LOBSTER ROLL EVER! Fantastically huge portion and well seasoned, great deal for the price! They have great live music and a fun but not pressured-fun type of atmosphere

Bland, tasteless food.  Gave it two stars for the waitress who was sweet and the view.  However,  we went in for lunch and couldn't eat such boring food.  Wondering if they even know what such simple seasonings as salt and pepper are in that kitchen.
Ordered a chicken bourbon panini.  It came to the table missing ingredients and so very bland.  My boyfriend tried it and said it was tasteless.   He had the special some kind of seafood Po' boy.  He ate about half of that before we left.  Over cooked in the deep fry.  Won't get into the shrimp app...
Service was good.  No problem at all.  Food was terrible!!!
    We won't  return.

We went here for dinner one night on a whim and WOW! What a fantastic dinner! The kids menu is unbelievable! So nice to see some other food besides hot dogs and grilled cheese. My daughter had the chicken and cheese burrito, hubby had the fried grouper, and I had the swordfish special. They were all fantastic!!  Will definitely visit again before we leave.

We had a party of six who went here. I didn't expect an exciting experience based on Yelp's ratings. Four of us ordered Bloody Mary's to start with. They make them with horseradish, which I really like, but we all come from a place where Bloody Mary's tend to be outrageously good with a pickle and beef stick as well. These came with just a couple of olives and were definitely expensive for $8 something a piece. Everyone else seemed to feel that we had come to the right place, no doubt the ambiance was an experience itself. I ordered fajita's which were clearly inspired by a different culture's cuisine. Instead of lettuce, it came with rice and black beans. They weren't bad, they really needed the lettuce though. My husband was surprised by how good his meal was (beer battered haddock sandwich)and everyone was pleased. Angie was a great waitress. The live music was also great.

We have been coming to Fort Myers beach for the last 15 years. We have eaten at Nervous Nellies multiple times. There was one time where the service was great, that was a few years ago, we were outside and we had a great male server, I wish I could remember his name because he is great! We've seen him there working outside but since we have babies in our group now we don't eat outside at night anymore. We ate at Nervous Nellies last week and the service was subpar. Our waitress didn't know anything that was in the dishes we ordered and barely came around to check on us. Last nights service took the cake for worst service ever. We were a party of five adults, two children, one of who is not even a year old. We waited a few minutes to be sat, which is to be expected, but when we were seated, we waited ten minutes before we got menus and after we didn't get menus after ten minutes, we had to go get them from the host stand. After another at least five minutes of waiting for our server to come by, she finally did to tell us she was catching up on a few things and she'd be right back. She came back took our drink orders and came back to get our dinner order. My mom ordered the filet to share with my sister, our server said no you want the ribeye. My mom ended up ordering the ribeye and wanted a side salad. She didn't see the dressings and instead of the server telling us what dressings they had she said she'd be right back, left and took care of her other tables for another 15 minutes. As we were getting ready to leave drink money on the table and leave with a starving two year old, she came back and got the rest of our order. Our soups came out, one missing a spoon, and no salad for my mom. When it finally came out, it had the wrong dressing. Seconds after the salad came out the food came. The waitress told us she waited 15 minutes after putting our soups and salad in to put our food in which was crazy since we waited longer for our soup and salad than for our meal. When she finally came around to check on our meals she asked my mom how her steak was, my mom said it was fine but it was a grisly piece, the waitress looked at it and said yea that looks medium rare and walked away. I work as a server and I could not believe a server would act in this manner. If we ever go back we will request not to have this server.

Went for dinner on New Year's Eve.  The service was horrible and the food not much better. They were not prepared for the crowd. They were out of several entrees by the time we got to order. Our food took more than two hours to get to us. When it did start coming, the last person at the table got their food 15 minutes after the first. Some of the dishes were cold. When we complained to the manager, all she would do for us was comp the drinks we had while we were waiting. The people at the table next to us said they were there earlier in the week and had a similar experience. Needless to say we won't be back.

Made a reservation 1 week in advance for Christmas day. We arrived at 4:30, our appointed time. It took the staff 90 minutes to seat us. We ordered right away.  It then took the kitchen another 90 minutes to prepare our food.  The food was tasty, but after waiting 3 hours with a reservation, McDonalds would taste good too.

I can only say that I'm happy we didn't walk away with food poisoning.
I went here with my mother while on vacation in Ft Myers Beach... looking for a decent place with outdoor seating and music....

Our waitress was OK but not particularly attentive. She messed up our drinks, which sucked anyway.
We ordered the muscles in garlic sauce and they smelled completely dead and like sewage. I'm happy we didn't get food poisoning. We didnt eat more than 2 and the waitress took them away without even asking what might be the problem.
I got crab cakes with scallops plate and my mother got the shrimp n scallop green salad.
The crab cakes were generic and tasted like wax. The green beans served on the side were COVERED in garlic to the point of not being edible (and im a huge garlic fan!). My mothers salad was drenched in the WRONG dressing with the bottom of the plate swimming in some kind of watery substance.
We left as soon as possible.
If you want sea food, try a different place!

Hubby and I went here first day back down to FMB- come to the beach every year (almost) and this was our first try.  Actually had another restaurant recommend it since they didn't have draft beer- Glad they did!  It's off the beaten path under the bridge, great to walk, drive, or boat to!  We ate upstairs at the bar (Uglies), and had a fabulous view.  The food was phenomenal!  Had oysters on the half shel and they were fresh, briney, and meaty!  Also, did some peel and eat shrimp- again HUGE and fresh!  Portions are so large here we split a lobster roll (it's like a one and half pound of juicy flavorful lobster) and being at the beach didn't want "fries" but something more fresh- they suggested the fruit cup an!d swiss chard!  Who'd have thunk!  Perfect compliment to the fresh seafood- and no upcharges!  Big cold draft beers and it's paradise!  The servers were great too- only reason not a 5 star is there weren't enough servers so getting started was a little slow, but I think it was just the timing (shift change, after lunch but before dinner).  Happy hour is all day everyday!  Gotta try this place- I will be back before we leave!

I've been here twice now, and both times I loved it. The first time I got the whiskey chicken (I think that's the name), and it was fabulous. This time I got a special that was pork ribs over yellow rice. It was huge, and it was delicious. The pork came off the ribs easily with a fork. Both times the wait staff were excellent, and the view of the boats is lovely. I'll definitely go back.

My husband and I are celebrating our 3rd yr. anniversary in Fort Myers, Florida,  we went to Nervous Nellies for lunch on Saturday, "the food was amazing" I highly recommend their shrimp and steak fajitas!!! Delicious fresh and authentic Mexican food.  The waitress was very friendly, overall excellent service.  Price a little bit high but the food was worth it.

We stopped here for lunch, having no idea that they were about to close for a few weeks for renovations, and were cleaning out the freezer with free food.  My father in law was happy!  He enjoyed the free sandwiches and *tons* of apps.  The rest of us ordered off the menu, and all enjoyed the food.  Prices are reasonable, given it's a beach town, and the beer was cold.  Mixed drinks were pricey and, if we return, we'll avoid them and stick to beer.  Overall, great service and a fun beach place.

Ate here last night with a group and have mixed reviews. I give it 3 out of 5 stars based upon our prior experience when we were here in May - where everything was good.

Last night: Party of 9 people asked to be seated outside. They seated us under a tiki hut which was adorable but I think it was a little "still" as we had no breeze under there. No complaints, though as it was a nice private little nook for us to enjoy the live music and waterfront. Our server was great - she didn't write a thing down and was able to remember all of our food and drinks.

We started with fried cheese planks, stuffed fried mushrooms, and a quesadilla. The mushrooms were flavorless, even with the dipping sauce. The cream cheese stuffing needed some type of zing - all just very one note. Cheese planks were good as was the quesadilla.

Main courses were spicy ribs (full rack, gigantic, fall off the bone, delicious), tortellini (tasty, gigantic portion which couldve been split by 2), spicy chicken fingers (good - fried chicken fingers with buffalo wing sauce), 2 different sandwiches made with turkey (the turkey was very salty), meatloaf sandwich (extremely dry, needed gravy or some type of sauce), boneless pork chops (bland), scallops with crabmeat (good but sitting in a deep dish which caused the scallops to be very "wet" - wouldve been better if they sauteed the scallops and served with stuffing - not cooked them in this metal deep dish).

Portions here are GIGANTIC, they have live entertainment which is nice and the service is really terrific. Unfortunately the food was a little off last night.  The first time we went back in May, we had fried green tomatoes appetizer (delicious) and an assortment of sandwiches (including turkey), wings - all were great.

We'll be back again. Good food right in Ft. Myers beach district with a huge menu assortment - walking distance to Times Square and free parking for the restaurant.

Went with mom and daughter this evening. We ordered the conch fritters when we ordered our drinks sooo looking forward to them. When they cam out they were burnt and no app. plates were given. When we asked for a new batch we were told they could not cook them lighter as they would be raw inside so we said we did not want them. 5 minutes later  the food runner came out with a new lighter batch that was cooked fine. We were a bit confused  still no appetizer plates. Drinks were OK bit very over priced. I ordered grouper pan fried with two sides one being rice the other kale of some sort? Very bland and I did not eat it the grouper was square thought it was strange it was square? Making me think it was frozen this also not very good. My daughter had mac and cheese this was good she ate about half of it. My mom had the salmon with the mango chutney and almonds. This order was almost messed up but the waiter came back to say hers did not come with the sides when he stated the dish she corrected him on what the order was. Guess it was good he messed up her order and came back to say she did not get sides with her dinner when he said she did. The key lime pie was good but nothing outrages it was good. Over all I would go back to try lunch but would not go back for dinner. The list of menu items is hug maybe this is the problem? There is just too much to choose from. Sitting on the deck was nice bit your on the marina side and the flies and gulls are around seems like when the food came so did they. Not rushing back anytime so many others that are better.

i mean, just look at that steam pot photo that is posted and you can tell this isn't the finest or freshest establishment.  i had the grouper reuben which was decent - the fish was questionable, but with all the other toppings it didn't matter much at that point.  it was also huge, enough for two. the huge drink was, i'm pretty sure, alcohol-less, but fun.  we sat outside which was nice (or would be, had it been less hot).  our waiter was actually fine, though i think he may have been stoned.  who knows, maybe that made him more focused than the others.

Food was average. We had a grilled tilapia and crabmeat+salmon dishes. While both were very fresh, their taste was very bland. 60oz nellies drink was pretty good. It tasted like a hurricane.

Only giving this place 1 star cause we have to. Who doesn't have a beer list when they have microbrews priced on their menu. That is just dumb. Our waitress gave us a major tude when we requested the beer list. Their wait staff is fat and lazy and their menu is huge and nothing on it is even good. Don't go here

This is a must stop for anyone new to the area, very large portions. The food was cooked perfect and the price was fair. We had a party of 9 and had no problems getting great service.

Menu is very large and made it hard for everyone to decide what they wanted, other wise we had a great time and will return.

I loved the live music and outdoor seating by the water. The menu is massive, looks like a bible.

I ordered the blue crab stuffed jumbo shrimp. A dish I've tried in different cities and I wasn't satisfied. The appetizers were much better than the entree I ordered.

Great Location.  Waited over 2 hours for dinner to arrive (it never did) . Waiter and manager kept telling us how slammed they were and that they were moving our order to the front of the line.  Left after 2.5 hours of waiting.  Way too many items on the menu to serve that many people efficiently.  Heed the other reviews and find someplace else

My husband and I went here when it first opened a few years ago and the service was absolutely HORRIBLE. We figured that it was just opening week glitches that made the experience so deplorable, and decided to give Nervous Nellies another try in good faith.

...Well, we would have been better off to stay away and just eat elsewhere. There was no wait to get in, but once seated it took our server fifteen minutes just to take our drink and app orders. We told him we were ready to order food (our daughter was already crabby) and he cut my husband off and told him he would be back shortly to take main course orders. Shortly came and went with no sign of our waiter, or our drinks and appetizer. When he did come back to take main course orders, he was sweating and stank of cigarettes. And still didn't bring our app and drinks. Now that I think of it, we didn't even have water at the table, and had been sitting there nearly an hour.

Another server finally brought our appetizer (shrimp and grouper bites) and drinks, which were lousy and over priced.
Main courses showed up thirty seconds later...well with the exception of mine. In fact, mine NEVER came. I didn't get a chance to even complain to our waiter, because he completely DISAPPEARED after my daughter and husband's food came. We didn't see him again at all. Another server finally materialized, I complained, got a rude "our kitchen is very backed up. Thanks for being patient". They took my food off of the bill (since I never got it) but never offered any kind of an apology or any general contriteness at all. We went back to our hotel and I ordered delivery from a local sandwich shop. Needless to say, this place will not ever have our business again, and we will make sure others know and avoid wasting their time as well.

Went for lunch after a boat ride from Cape Coral. Restaurant was recommended  to us from several people. 5 of us sat outside by the dock on a beautiful day and enjoyed watching boats passing by. The waiter was prompt, attentive, and friendly. Maybe due to the fact we were N.Y. Yankee fans and so was he.(tough to find in this area). The menu was large with so many items it took us a while to decide what to eat. You name it, it is on the menu. We thought the prices on most items were reasonable considering most restaurants on the water tend to be a little steep. We all decided on having sandwiches which were impressive in size and also very tasty. The Reuben sandwich seemed to be the best along with the fish sandwiches. Doggie bags were needed. A pitcher of ice cold beer also hit the spot. I would definitely return next time in the area.

When I was younger, we would visit Cape Coral to see family. We would include a visit to Snug Harbor every trip - it was one of our Florida favorites. Since I've been an adult, I haven't been able to make it over there as much. Since I hadn't been there in almost a decade (I'm ashamed to say), I didn't know that Snug Harbor was Nervous Nellie's. For old time's sake, we first gave Nellie's a shot in May 2010. We liked it enough to return this visit (December 2011).

First time we were there (May 2010), I had the Nervous Nellie's Incredible Island Paella - should have sued them for false advertising. "Incredible" should have been "Inedible" - as in watery, bland, flavorless & greasy... After I ate what I could of the seafood, I could see that at the bottom of the plate there was at least a half inch of slightly flavored water covered by a layer of grease (from the greasy sausage). Oh, and the mussels were actually bitter. Icky.
However, my dad had the Pan-Seared Mango Crab Cakes & Jumbo Scallops, and they were totally kick-ass. I tried a scallop & they were easily the best scallops I've ever had - perfectly cooked. My aunt had a steak & she said it was very good. My then 2 year old girl had the chicken fingers & fries, which were pretty basic, but good as well. It seemed like it was just my dish, so I decided to wait on reviewing & not write off Nervous Nellie's completely...

Redemption came on this past visit (December 2011) when I got the Nellie's Ultimate Steam Pot (see my pic). If you love seafood, this is the Holy Grail - shrimp, clams, mussels, scallops, & oysters, topped with a cluster of crab legs, all steamed. It's everything you love about the ocean on a plate, served with melted butter. I added a pint of Guinness, and it was heaven. I am unashamed to say that, yea, I ate that whole thing all by myself.
Dad couldn't pass up round 2 of the scallops & crab cakes (I must say, I can't blame him), and once again, they were great. My aunt had the Slow Roasted Prime Rib, and it was cut-it-with-a-fork tender. My now 3 year old girlie had the kids' mac & cheese, which was meh/okay by my standards, but she seemed to like it a lot so I guess it served its purpose.

The prices are pretty good, but on the high side for some things - mainly the appetizers & the non-seafood items. My Steam Pot was $25, which I thought was reasonable for the quality & (especially) the amount of food. The kids' menu is huge, but $7 is too much for a quesadilla or mac & cheese (not including drink).

Service was very good both times. Refills were prompt, food came in a timely manner - no complaints on either visit.

The ambiance is fairly good, but loud. Here's a tip, Nellie's: If it's a nice day/evening out, and we choose to sit inside, I think you can safely assume that we don't want to hear the crappy wannabe cover music outside. Shut the back door. When I'm inside, I shouldn't have to talk over a band that is outside & on the other end of the restaurant. Sometimes I just want good seafood & to talk to my family.

We will be going back here when we visit again (hoping for this May!), but we're going to try to hit it earlier (i.e., before a band sets up). I'm really looking forward to the return trip.

Went here despite marginal reviews about service. Bad,bad, bad idea. When the server was asked if a steamer was big enough to share, she asked if my husband ate like a girl. Strike number one. No beer list but she said they probably had whatever we wanted. Three domestics later, he settled on a Bud Lite because they didn't carry the other 3. Our $40 steamer basket came with half of it still frozen. We can call that strike two. Then after eating the half that didn't get sent back to the kitchen, we noticed a battered and raw scallop sitting in juices under the rest of the seafood---our meal didn't even come with scallops. Strike three. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! Oh, they bought our drinks for our trouble. Awesome.

We had a walk in party of 12 and we were seated right away on a Friday night. The food was awesome and they have a house lager that is one of the best I've ever had. They had a band playing that provided entertainment and the service was quick. Our waitress was very nice and got us everything we needed. Will go back again

Went there today and left with a bad feeling. Let me start by saying that the food was very good. But the service sucked...big time. Prior to making plans to go there for dinner, we had called ahead and asked if they had any specials. We were told that there were a bunch of 'tourist' pamphlets out front which contained a 10% off coupon. Great! When we tried to use it we were told that the coupon had expired, which it had, and that we would not be able to use it. So why are you telling us about an expired coupon which you won't accept?

Upon arriving the hostess, the one that answers phones and seats you, was rude and unfriendly. I ordered the Mile High Meatloaf which reads on the menu as follows:
Mile High Meatloaf Sandwich - Any idea
what this is? Imagine home-cooked meatloaf crispy grilled and topped with Applewood
smoked bacon, romaine lettuce, ripe tomato
    and savory cheese

When my sandwich arrived it was missing the tomato and lettuce. I asked our waitress about it and she replied without hesitation, "We don't usually put those on unless the customer asks for it."

Why the heck not? That's how its supposed to come according to your menu! If your statement were true, then why didn't I have to specifically ask for the meatloaf and bacon? Or the cheese?

Plenty of places to eat in the same area. Go spend your money in a place that will appreciate you.

Ate there the other day. Cannot understand a 4 star rating in average. Starting with the Nachos - besides the fact that they were completely bland, the meats tasted like they were from the day before. Do you know what warmed up chicken tastes like? That's it. How can such an easy meal taste so bland?!?!? The roast beef panini was equally tasteless and left us with the impression that the kitchen does not necessarily call freshness their utmost priority. Left half of it to go back the spicy baby back ribs were ok.
In total not worth a recommendation. Location wasn't special either. We will not go back.

Excellent waitress. Cheerful.  But I didn't like that they hit me up for 18% GRATuity for 2 people.  They have descent food. Scallops were LARGE.  My wife had the scallops and I ordered the Gulf coast grill.  The food was ok... but the side dishes need to be saved by the great "GORDON RAMSEY".  Side Dishes were terrible. I had the Green beaans and cole slaw, wanted the salad but for my meal that cost $28.00 you could not get a salad. lol. The basket of bread you get before you start your meal was excellent. So this place needs to work on sides, Gratuities, and prices.  But it was OK.

It was after 9pm on a saturday & we had just gotten off the sunset party cruise from Snug Harbour marina next door...we were tipsy & hungry but wanted to keep the party mood going. Nervous Nellie's definitely sounded like the party was on & poppin'. Naturally we sat on the outside deck, waterfront. (who the hell goes to a waterfront restaurant to sit inside?!) The live music was Megaforce Band & they were GREAT!! Expecting typical bar/pub food (burgers, wings, etc) I was very pleasantly surprised to find a WIDE variety of a bit more upscale cuisine (lobster salad, scallops, crab bruschetta, etc). The service was prompt & friendly, the food was DELICIOUS & fairly priced, & the live entertainment was just as great!
Will definitely be coming back here!!

Great. Service, we were there at a slow time, but that is usually when service is terrible. The service was friendly and helpful. the food ,
I ordered fries shrimp and scallops. The shrimp were fresh tasting and cooked perfectly. The scallops were large and buttery tasting. They had just the right amount of batter. My granddaughter had chicken fingers. Again they were cooked just right with very crunchy and tasty fries the fries have a spice added to them but it is not overpowering.
The location overlooking the water is very relaxing as we watch boats come and go
this is a great place to eat in fort myers beach.
    Thanks captain Dan!

Patient is a virtue! Trust me, register your patient before you go to Nervous Nellies.

Patient gets you through traffic; Patient gets you through reading their menu.....................Are we there yet?

If you made it without losing your mojo, enjoy the restaurant.

First floor has indoor and outdoor dining 'saute' with pleasant music. Second floor is more of sports bar. Either way, you will find your spot to entertain yourself.

Food is average. Plenty to choose and portion is huge. For the money, it is reasonable. Wherever you come from, you will enjoy this restaurant. It is hard to give it less than 3 stars. Why do I give it 3 star? You talk to me? Well, Dude, because it is a tourist trap and you know it and you like it. What can I say! Throw your hat and enjoy it. One way or another, you are in Florida, and life is a Beach.

Stopped in for drink and app yesterday. The hostess directed us to the upstairs bar because it was Happy Hour there. Sat at the bar.  Food was okay, beer was cold, but the staff was totally indifferent. At least a dozen passes by bartenders and staff before someone greeted us with "what can I get ya?" We were getting ready to leave. We've decided that we are going to spend our $$ where we feel welcome and they appreciate our business.
