I think the people going on about how shabby this place is are being very harsh . I mean it is a dive bar , but so what . The bartenders are very friendly and they make you smile . The only problem is they serve very weak dive bar drinks ! I think if they poured heavier a lot more people would go there . I seriously had 4 cranberry vodkas and a fireball shot and barely had a buzz . It was weird and made my experience a bit boring and disappointing .
Review Source:I started off my 7 day vacation at "Nice Rack". I ended up going to the barber shop which was located next door and afterwards I had to wait 10 minutes for my ride to show up.
I looked around for something to do and I ended up walking into this place. I thought it was going to be a bar, and ended up being a pool hall. It was pretty big and kept up pretty nicely.
I go served immediately as I walked in and the waitress was real nice. When I asked her what the name of the place was (so I could check-in on Yelp!) she stated... "NICE RACK, DUH!" As if I was supposed to know. I loved her attitude though.
I walked in wanting a beer (but the minimum credit charge was $10) so I ended up having 2 shots of Cuervo and a Corona within 10 minutes. On the drive home.. I was pretty buzzed.
I will definiately be visiting this place when I have more time on my hands!
This was not a very impressive place to play pool. The place is really big with old tables. Â
My Fiance` and I came here because its close to our house. Â The crowd was manly older which did not bother us at all... As we were there a little while longer the place started filling up with people that just turned 21 if at all 21 and the music went to heavy metal.. Unfortunately we will not visit Nice Rack again.
This is a great place to meet up with friends, play pool, watch game, have a drink. Â
It's perfect! Â Lots of parking. Â Lots of friendly faces. Â No one is snooty. Â Nice Rack has the best service for a pool bar anywhere! Â Good, cheap drinks. Â Comfortable. Â It's like going to visit good friends. Â It just feels right!
We got trouble, right here in el cajon, with a capitol T that rhymes with P that stands for Pool. (kudos if you catch the movie/musical reference). Â Although you could get into trouble here if you drink too much, this place is actually a friendly neighborhood pool hall with the proper mix of regulars with their own pool cues and those of us who use a wobbly stick off the wall. Â This place is not built for comfort as the seating is barstools and there is not much of it. Â The bar menu is limited to burgers and bar food and needs to be improved upon. Â The food isn't that good either. Â Everyone was friendly but the bartender actually gave our credit card to a regular customer nearly 35 years older than the cc holder. Â Luckily he was still there and ultimately we figured out what happened. Â There are approximately 8-10 pool tables here and they have nightly tournaments. Â Also dart board and some video games. Â The TV's are not well situated and on the small side but at least you can watch the games.
Review Source:This place really needs a revamp. Â
They have a huge place but funky. It's just old. They have a lot of pool tables (no hand chalk though). They had this vip area to the right when you walked in and um,,,,that was an old dirty couch.
The beer was good and so was my pool game...lol. It was one of the female bartenders b-day and she was a drunk mess. But what better was to celebrate your b-day when your a bartender?...lol
The other thing than was kinda off is that the pool table in the very back could barely hear the music. I asked them to turn it up but nothing happened. We didn't stay long, but it was fun going out and trying a new place. But no bar food is a no no
I was coming here fairly consistently for a while just to enjoy a drink and play some pool. Â
Never had a problem, and the bartenders were good for a little chat and a good pour of jameson.
Then I ran into some of the tournament players. Â That day, I happened to be playing pool with an old friend whom I hadn't seen in a while. Â We weren't playing seriously and just meant to have a good time. Â At some point, I sat on a railing for about 10 seconds -- tops -- before standing back up. Â
Before I continue, I'd like to say that I'm generally a respectful guy. Â I'd also like to say that I'm fairly certain that my medium frame is not going to bend the railings on a commercial pool table to any noticeable extent. Â I realize that maybe if a hundred guys all sat on the edge of a pool table in succession, then maybe the rails might bend down, but I doubt it. Â I'd also like to point out that there isn't any signage that I've seen stating that the pool table shouldn't be leaned on. Â That doesn't even make sense... Â
Either way, this chick who decided to interrupt my good time so that she can play pool cop obviously isn't at the bar to police ever person who has ever sat or leaned on the edge of a pool table. Â How do I know? Â I was there every other night and had never seen her before.
That was annoying. Â It ruined my perception of this place. Â So I stopped going as often. Â Actually, I just stopped going.
But, the other night, a buddy of mine wanted to play. Â So, I thought what the heck. Â So, we packed into the car, including my friend who happens to be an international visitor who doesn't have a CA I.D. Â When we got there, she showed the bouncer her foreign I.D., and he denied us entrance!!! Â He said he couldn't accept it because it wasn't in English, even though it clearly shows her birth date. Â Now there's some East County brain power for you. Â
Anyway, if you do decide to go, be sure to avoid the tournament players (unless you're there for a tournament) and be aware that this is a bar in El Cajon. Â Otherwise, the bartenders are usually pretty awesome/nice and sometimes pretty good looking. Â They've got tons of pool tables, a ping pong table and some video games.
The Nice Rack is Awesome. Great people, cheap drinks, beautiful women. What more can you ask for from a bar in El cajon? Hey, even the bathrooms are clean...... well sometimes. This place also has a Shit ton of pool tables. The barenders are awesome. This place is pretty sweet check it out. This place is also an awesome place to watch football on sundays.
Review Source:Place is alright. Drinks and pool are cheap and it's a good place to come with a couple of friends to end a night.
The jukebox is awesome, for four bucks my friends and I picked out about ten songs.
The bartenders are a little airheaded, and no one really comes around to pick up empty glasses or offer you new drinks. We weren't bothered at all by other people and it was a nice relaxing hang out- but when we went to pay for the tab this VERY drunk chick came up and started talking to me and hugging me.
All in all, I'd come here again it's not amazing but it's a pretty fun place.
Ok so right off the bat...yes, it's an east county bar, but don't let that stop you from checking this place out. Â One of my favorite spots because unlike most east county bars there's no drama and b.s. and that I can appreciate!
Great spot to play pool, obviously, if the name didn't give that away.
Lots of t.v's so you can catch any game.
By the way, $7 domestic pitchers for happy hour.
Happy hour EVERYDAY from open-7.
The first place I got drunk on the west coast was in the confines of Nice Rack. I didn't play pool. but I drank a bunch of beer. This place is pretty cool for a east coast guy. The folks were pretty friendly, and I thought the bartenders fit the title of the bar very well! :)
It's cheap, which is excellent. I wasn't driving, and it seemed like the only way to get here was via car. I'm used to walking to bars, but I guess on the west coast there is a lot more driving to get drunk...
anyway, the bottom line is this place ain't too shabby.
Very EC but what can you expect from a pool joint in a strip mall in El Cajon. Â drinks are good and pitchers are cheap! Â Pick your fun from darts, pool, ping pong, shuffleboard or the ultimate show of manliness...the punching bag machine. Â That's funny to watch when guys have had a few too many! Â
There are people who play there that take the games just a tad too serious, but all in all good fun! Â
Pretty chill place to spend a friday night!
Rack em!
First off - HOW CLEVER IS THE NAME OF THIS ESTABLISHMENT?!
No - it is NOT a strip club
or a lingerie boutique
or an adult store
It is a *SERIOUS* pool hall. All serious players here. Hardly any bs....
Darts. Â Billiards. Â Games galore. Â Drinks.
Nothing fancy...just a place to get your game on.
