Nick Foster Entertainment

Nick is a real class act.  I called him just a couple days before a big party not even sure if I'd be able to get anything.  Nick talked through exactly what we'd need, delivered exactly on time and came back in the same timely manner for pick up.  The equipment worked really well, and it was extremely easy to use.  I'd definitely use him again.

I went with the $295 deal (including delivery/setup/pickup) for my event that was held at a rented hall.  Nick, the owner, showed up on-time and had everything set up right away.  He gave me and one other of my guests a quick overview of how to operate the thing and it was a cinch.  The system was solid... TONS of songs.... it kept my family/friends/guests well entertained for the entire duration of the event.

One thing to consider though is that he (Nick) seems to be the only person working for the company; a one-man business.  So, I chose his service, kind of "already knowing" that he would be driving all over the place, and likely not able to pick the equipment up on the same-day.

And as such, that ended up being the case.  We called him towards the end of our event, and he said he was across the bay and likely unable to guarantee being able to pick up the equipment -before- the hall had to close.  So we agreed to have him pick up the equipment at 9am the next morning.

I ended up coming back to the rental hall,  the next morning, like an hour or so before 9am... just to make sure nobody broke into the hall to damage/steal the equipment overnight.  When he showed up, he said I didn't have to go back there.... but hey, better safe than sorry.... it's a $4000+ system!

Nick's a good man and provides a service that I appreciate... but considering the kind of responsibility involved and darting from city to city to make appointments, worrying about the equipment, and that he's just one man running the whole thing... that's a bit overwhelming if you ask me!  I don't know how he does it!

Zero stars if i could.  Incompetent., unprofessional.
This company supplied speakers for our outdoor wedding event.  When my husband called to order/book, he immediately liked Nick, said he sounded professional.  We were excited that he could come all the way out to Lafayette, in the East Bay, on our wedding day.
Problem #1:  The day we ordered the speakers, the charge appeared on our credit card immediately, but it was $100 more than he quoted us. We called him that day, and he said he would be able to refund us in 1 week, when his bookkeeper came in.  Not that big of a deal yet...
Problem#2:  Nick said he could arrive at our wedding venue at 1pm on our wedding day, but didn't actually arrive until around 4:30 (our wedding ceremony was supposed to start at 5pm).  We needed the speakers for the ceremony!  
Problem#3:  He didn't come with enough microphone cable.  We requested around 150-200 feet when we made the order, but he was short.
Problem #3:  Nick told us he would pick up the equipment that evening, but didn't show up until the next day.  
Problem #4: That $100 he overcharged us, wasn't refunded. It wasn't until 2 weeks after the wedding that we got an email saying the money was being sent in the form of a money order.  One week after that email, the check still hadn't arrived, so I called him and he was nonchalant about it, saying "you don't understand how a small business runs, it's not that easy, things don't happen that fast."   I gave him a piece of my mind on the phone, and the next day, suddenly, our check appears!  Yea, must have been real hard to make a refund after all.  We'll see if the check is any good.
