Nickson's Eatery

Friendly service, great menu, even better cocktail and beer list.  The shrimp and grits were amazing, as was the elk burger.  Salads are very large and delicious.  Drink was a little weak and the wine pours were small, but overall a good place.

Nickson's eatery was quite good!  I had the elk burger, which was delicious.  My companion, who is a seafood aficionado, ordered the crab cake sandwich and reported that it was tasty and of excellent quality.   The smoky mac 'n' cheese was an enjoyable side.  Coffee was above average.  We were at Nickson's in the middle of the afternoon, when there was a total of three occupied tables.  Still, the server did not refill our water glasses or offer hot tea water or coffee refills, so the service was a bit dodgy.

Came back for the second dinner here, and Craig, our server was phenomenal! Craig made excellent recommendations from cocktails, the peach old fashioned, appetizers the fried green tomatoes, and for dinner my boyfriend loved the elk burger, while I loved the presentation and of course the outstanding quality of the  Jakes Berkshire pulled pork shoulder entree. I will recommend nicksons eatery to anyone willing to listen! I even love that the owner/manager is touching tables and is very involved here, rolling up his sleeves and getting dirty. He welcomes every table and you can tell he appreciates your business! He even helped us wrap up our food! On your next visit to La Grange, please give this spot a thought, I guarantee you won't regret it! And the servers aren't bad to look at either!
