Nomads Canteen

Kind of...okay more than kind of...FLOORED by the bad reviews.  My husband and I have eaten at Nomad's at least a half a dozen times since they opened, and can't say enough good things about the staff (Danny the bartender is great), the food, and the vibe.  

This place fills a void in SC dining in that they offer craft beers, healthy food, and great ambiance (love the U-shaped bar) at an affordable price and without even a hint of pretentiousness.  

We've tried quite a few things on the menu and have boiled it down to 2 go to meals that leave us satisfied without the icky stuffed junk food meal feeling.  For me, the poke bowl is A-MAZ-ING.  If I'm feeling extra health conscious, I order it on cucumber salad, instead of the delicious coconut rice (instant regret in the moment, but good on the waistline I suppose)  Certainly leaves more room for a few good beers....loving the Palm.  My husband is a sucker for the Steak Mundaka, and after snaking a bite or two each time, can't say I blame him.  Guacamole is good, tacos are tasty, and been itching to try the Belizean stew.  

Love love love this place.  Don't be thrown off by the haters.  This place is the real deal and is doing it right.

Some good and refreshing place - wide variety of beer on tap. I got the jaco poke bowl it was sooo good. I definitely recommend this place . Nice and friendly service.

Was hoping for a cool new place, and liked the name and concept. The service was good, gal was very friendly. I ordered the shrimp tacos and my wife the house chicken. The tacos were the worst i have ever had, no flavor at all, tasted like they were boiled, and no sides, way over priced. Wife's chicken was ok but not properly butchered so the bones in the stew were not safe. No way it will last unless this place gets it together quick. Good,luck!
