It was great. Waitress recommended the Crunchy Hunan Chicken, it was spot on.

Always order the sesame tofu! Comes with white rice and is enough to feed 2 people with some left over, only $8! Love it!

Went here on a Sunday night around 6 and the place was empty - steady stream of people dropping in for take out.  Pan fried dumplings were great, crispy beef dish was good but no way I could justify eating fried beef on a regular basis.  Pan fried noodle was fresh and had plenty of veg.  Little hard to find but plenty of parking.

We were looking for a place to eat while visiting Amherst college and this place happened to be open. What can I say? Above average food, very nice and polite server and they accommodated my mom's food allergy well. Good spot to eat and affordable! Will be coming back periodically when I enroll at Amherst!

I am normally very picky about asian food, especially in the NE part of the US. This place however, not authentic, was still good. I ordered the kungpao shrimp and the shrimp was big, sauce was tasty, and good size portions to where I was able to eat it for another meal. The restaurant was clean, slightly more expensive than other chinese restaurants, but for the quality of the food, I am okay with that.

I did have to wait a bit long because their credit card machine was down, but it was fine, the lady was nice enough to keep apologizing. I was in no rush.

All in all, I recommend this place for your chinese food needs in the area.

As far as Chinese food in Western Mass goes, this is certainly one of my top choices. It may not cater the most authentic Chinese cuisine, but it makes up for it with friendly staff, clean environment and tender pepper steak dishes. 4/5 stars only because it's slightly more expensive than what I'm used to.

Freshest, tastiest Chinese food in the area. Never go anywhere else.

This is by far the best Chinese food I've had in Western Massachusetts. For those who like the option of eating real Chinese food (of course they have the Americanized stuff too), specifically Hunan & Szechuan, this is most likely the only place you need to know about. The ambiance is, well, plain, but then again so are the prices. I don't care really as long as the food is excellent. And it was. I'll be back very very soon. I can't believe we hadn't found it earlier.

I'm always impressed when I find chow fun outside of Chinatown; so just the fact that they have it, is reason enough for me to go there.  It is always very quiet for dine-in and takeout is quick.  It's easy parking and close to home.  Service was kind of slow, but the waitress was working on a bum knee so I'll give her a pass.  I really enjoyed their hot & sour soup and their sesame chicken.

This is anything but typical chinese takeout... The food is amazing and the staff and service is great. I personally recommend the crunchy Hunan chicken - a dish I have not found elsewhere. I can't say enough great things about north garden.

OK...this is as good as I have found near Springfield and Northampton.  Some of the food is a little different than the usual suspects.  I'm obsessed with the Crunchy Hunan Chicken: kind of in between General Tso's and Orange Chicken, but unique.  It's not full of vegetables but has julienned carrots in it and sweet but savory sauce on strips of breaded chicken.  It's fried but never greasy feeling.  The Gwin Jin is awesome as well...it's seared chicken (or scallops and shrimp) in a soy wine ginger sauce with green beans, carrots, and broccoli.  It's just different from the typical brown sauce, the chicken or seafood has a great sear to it, and the green beans totally make the dish.  The hot and sour soup is quite good but I find the broth in the wonton soup a little bland.  That said, nothing I've eaten has been bad and most everything is way above average to excellent.

The Lo Mein is light rather than oily, with REAL strips of meat in it.  The Tofu with Mixed Vegetables uses really soft tofu that was simmered in the sauce rather than the usual fried garbage.  The fried rice makes you wonder what the hell everyone else is doing wrong with theirs.  The downside is they don't deliver, and you can barely find the place tucked back off of Riverdale St.  But the dining room isn't too garish to dine in, and it's a 90 minute drive to Chinatown in Boston, so I'm hard pressed to complain much here.  I'm really glad I found them.

A somewhat hidden but good Chinese-American restaurant. I used to drive from Springfield for take-out even though there were 2-3 places within 5 minutes of my house. If memory services me right, they offer typical Chinese fare but it's better than your average joint & even has a good pad thai dish! Serves booze too. Bonus: the consistently kind owners/staff.
