The bartender was not friendly at all. Â I didn't want to be chatted with, but you could at least not act like pouring a cider was the worst thing you had to do all day (okay, maybe in some circles pouring a cider instead of a beer is the worst thing you had to do all day). Â Other than that, I like the atmosphere and the patio is great. Â Strongbow on tap will keep me coming back.
Review Source:Great location on the river. Â Sit outside for people-watching and the downtown Reno feel. Â I love the wide selection of unique beers here. Â They had a Firestone special release barley ale, which we'd never had before (and one of our good friends is a VP at the company). Â Great hangout with a cool vibe.
Review Source:This place use to be one of my favorite places to grab a drink as the riverfront location is great, but unfortunately my last few visits have been less than thrilling. The bartenders have become slow and lazy, and the newer faces in there seem to have little to no experience bartending on top of knowing the special beer selection that makes Ole Bridge stand out from other downtown bars. Even if you don't know the products you are selling, you should at least be on your game with customer service. A taller blonde bartender there basically ignored my group and was chatting with her friends at the end of the bar for at least 15 minutes. When she finally came to us she was rude and couldn't answer simple questions regarding the beer selection which was crazy to me! Good thing their free shuffle board was open to take my frustration out on!
Review Source:My BFF and I stopped in on a Sunday at 11:30am so I think we lucked out as far as a crowd. Â Since we were the only ones in the place, our service was excellent. Â We were tourists and our bartender was a local so not only was she friendly, she was really informative. Â If you like anything "different" this is the place for you! Â They had so many different beers to try! Â It was a bit eclectic and easy-going. Â Very casual dress (which I love in my bars) and great location! Â Also, they do this great thing for charity by collecting dollars, pinning on the wall, and when it fills up, taking the money down and donating it. Â Pretty nice!
Review Source:Stopped in here on saturday night and it wasn't too crowded inside. I really like the location and the fact that they have outdoor seating. The outdoor seating was full at the time of my visit. Their beer selection was quite large which made me wonder why they didn't have Newcastle. The service was a step above poor. Both bartenders were more worried about watching the olympics than serving me a drink. I have been here on a previous occasion and had poor service on that visit as well, I guess they haven't learned yet.
Review Source:Great beers on tap, and available in bottle. Â Most importantly, they let me hang with my dog (golden retreiver) on the patio. Â Any dog friendly bar is okay with me. Â They don't serve food, but Campo is right there. Â Their beers are on the expensive side, but then again you can't/won't find these beers at a Bully's or Sparky's.
Review Source:I like this place, but always have the same problem, and that is the lack of good service. We walked out last night after being skipped over for our drinks, the bartender just talking to his friends and serving people he knew first. We waited 15 minutes then left, not sure I will go back this time.
Review Source:Cute pub with a great riverfront location. There was only one bartender working on a Friday (which I've heard is the norm) and he was slow as molasses.
There's a small dartboard and shuffleboard table, which adds to the attraction. Drinks were good (once we got them) and they had a decent selection of beer. Around 8pm, the place started getting more crowded, and it was literally 100 degrees in there. I'm not sure if they were trying turn the place into an oven so we'd all pop out like gingerbread men, but I couldn't hang any longer.
Wish list: More bartenders, faster service, better ventilation. Free beer would be a plus too, but I won't hold my breath.
Great little pub.  We were here on a Friday after noon and just a couple people were hanging out.  The bartender was cool and let us try a couple beers before we settled  on some ales.  My wife had a vodka cranberry and it was a good pour not over powering for her.  We sat on the patio over looking the river, very relaxing.  As the wives stayed outside my friend and I played shuffle board.  Really like the atmosphere of the pub.
Review Source:What an excellent little pub! Â It had great beer and wine selection as well as a fantastic patio with views of the Truckee River. Â It is small, but very welcoming. Â The staff was friendly & let us try out some beers before we settled on one for a pitcher. Â
Happy hour is from 5-7 PM here & gets you half off pitchers of beer and half off bottles of wine. Â We opted for multiple pitchers & the patio for copious amounts of sunshine & people watching. Â I'll definitely drink here again upon my return.
I still haven't figured out what bridge they are referring to.
This is my favorite bar in Reno during the summer. They have an awesome selection of craft brews. Lots of bottles and a rotating tap. Prices are comparable to similar places, though knocking a dollar off across the board wouldn't be a bad idea, unless of course you own the place.
The outdoor seating alon the river is very nice - perfect for kicking back with some friends and drinking tasty beers. Reno ought to get some river-drinking legislation drawn up because it would be awesome to take one of their beers for a walk along the river. Not in a romantic way or anything.
They have stocked themselves an attractive, young staff. They are much nicer than the douchedom that makes up the bartenders at St. James. They would likely be much better to take on a walk along the river than the beer, or maybe you can have beers and walk the river together. They probably get a discount too.
They have shuffleboard which is quite fun as well.
If you're counting, that's five sentences in a row starting with the word they. It's like I forgot everything I learned in English 101.
Unfortunately during winter hours the outdoor seating is unavailable/undesireable and the pub itself is quite small. And then of course you have to factor in the ridiculously loud music. It's not a club and I don't go to bars to discover new music. And if you recall from my North Beach review, raising my voice makes me much less suave.
Happy hour discounts apply only to wine bottles and pitchers. That's kind of lame. Sometimes people like to go to bars alone, you know. Especially during happy hour! If I drink a pitcher by myself I'm just going to feel worse about drinking alone. That is not a happy hour for me.
So the conclusion is bring some friends and enjoy some great beer along the river. 4 stars during summer, 3 during winter.
This cozy little bar is beautifully decorated and in a terrific location. Â The shuffleboard is a really nice touch. Â Overall, it really does feel like a pub-type atmosphere, which may be why I can't get a decent cocktail here. Â Still, I like coming here so I just stick with a straight one booze, one mixer drink that the bartender is sure to get right.
Review Source:I went in for wine and was unimpressed with the selection. I understand it's a beer kind of place but how hard is it to keep a few nice bottles of wine around? Especially when the happy hour is 1/2 off wine bottles. They offered 2 white wines and 4 red. Not the selection I was hoping for
Review Source:This is in a good location right near the river. Drinks are ok and somehow ordering the same drink from two different bartenders gets you two different drinks... oh well. Stick with beer, that's an easy one to get right.
There's shuffleboard inside and lots of patio seating outside. Good vibe.
I love this bar. It has a great location, and it's awesome in the summertime when you can sit on the patio and people watch, also there is an excellent selection of beers.
The main reason I can't give them the full 5 stars is because one of the bartenders there is kind of an idiot.  One time I went in there and ordered a cocktail off the menu, and the bartender, who seemed like it was her first day EVER bartending, looked at me as if I was crazy.  The drink was  "moscow mule".  It's only vodka, ginger ale, and lime juice.  She proceeded to make something different, but it tasted good so I drank it anyway.
When it came time to pay, she tried to charge me $2 more than the menu had listed, and I refused. Â She said the drink had three shots in it, so it had to be expensive. Â However, it's not my problem that she didn't know how to make the drink correctly. Â I wouldn't let her over charge me though.
Another time I went in and ordered the house wine from this SAME bartender. Â She poured me the glass which is normally $5 and said my tab was $8. Â I asked why it was more and she said it was because they had ran out of the house wine. Â Again, it's not MY problem that you ran out of the wine. Â She should have said something first, or just given me the other wine for the house wine price.
Other than those two rants, the bar is pretty sweet. Â The other bartenders are legit, but that one chick, uhh she's not too bright.
What a great location! Right by the river downtown and they have outside seating so you can enjoy downtown Reno in the warmer months. We tried this place for the first time - kicked off our 4th of July celebrations here and tried a tasty IPA (sweet grass I think it was). The place has a DEFINITE European feel. Dark interior and dark beautiful wood. Many TV's for soccer viewing purposes! The inside is not huge so it probably gets pretty packed, but I imagine it still being intimate. The bartender was great and knew what she was doing and gave us some info on our drinks. They have local art displayed too, we will be back soon!
Review Source:Fun little place! Always a great vibe! They have an outdoor patio that is a perfect way to spend an afternoon!!! They used to have an amazing hard cider, they replaced it, hence the low review!!! Thier new cider SUCKS!!! It very pricey and not worth it!!! I am bummed I can't get the origional hard cider!!!
Review Source:The BEST selection in bottled and draft beer you've never heard of. Â Chris is very knowledgeable and passionate about the beer they stock. Â They also do booze, wine and cider for my wife who doesn't like beer. Â New shuffleboard table, very nice decor and awesome patio area with the best river views of any place up or down the river. Â Futbol and rugby on the tele!
Review Source:They have a shuffleboard table! Nice.
After finding this little bar right by the river, I was very pleased. I go to this place late afternoon or early evening and have beers with my friends. Bar tenders are very friendly and their beer selection is great. Very clean since it's fairly new. I don't go here on weekend nights just because this place is too small for big crowds and I don't really enjoy that.
This is a very nice bar to drink beer, hang around, and chat with friends.
Again, needed to kill some time in the downtown area. Nice outdoor seating over looking the river. Really decent beer selection. Had a bottle of the Deschutes 2009 Abyss, which is a favorite. I don't know how much it was, but my bill was pretty low so I know it was cheaper than the places in Salt Lake that carry it. Good, attentive service from a gorgeous waitress, too.
Review Source:The only reason we came here was for the shuffleboard table. Â It's a pretty nice one, actually. Â Some places that claim to have a shuffleboard table actually feature a piece of plywood with some legs underneath and sand thrown on top - that was not the case here. Â The drinks were decently priced, and since the place is relatively newly everything is clean and nice, which is big in my book.
It's not a huge place, but it's a nice little pub to stop by on your downtown bar hopping experience. Â
Oh yeah, and the shuffleboard was free, and most places charge, so that was a plus.
