Be careful with the old women, if they don't like you, they'll over charge! By $30-40 if you don't pay attention. I'm glad there are more people that posted how rude the older women are. I can't believe how incredibly rude they are to everyone and still keep that job! I have been a bartender before and understand that people get out of line, but I have never had anyone be rude to me out of nowhere. They are unfortunately on some sort of power trip and need to get over whatever issues they both have. Ugly on the inside and ugly on the outside. Oh! And don't make excuses about being rude when someone says something about your attitude! GROW UP!

Okay this place does have cheap drink deals. Make sure to bring cash instead of a card if your planning on having a couple cheap drinks there is a 10$ minimum. My first complaint is the unsanitary bathrooms. The reusable towel they have should not be aloud at any place. Never!!!!! So my suggestion would to bring hand sanitizer. Also the bartenders have a HUGE attitude problem. Much rather go somewhere else and tip a bartender who appreciates their job. Oh and it would be nice if they had a coat check since you have to wait in line forever to get in and when you go inside its disgustingly hot!
Review Source:We went to the Old Saloon after seeing how dinky the pours are at the 500. Well, they're better, but here a glass of Maker's goes for $8! Look, people: $8 is what you charge for GOOD bourbon, to start. The standard shit shouldn't cost any more than $5 a glass.
Inside, it's a dump. That's a compliment. Dumpy bars are the best! But quit charging so much for Maker's. You're not in LA.
Fun place on Thursday nights! Cheap drinks and fun music. It would be nice if it was larger though because the lines are always ridiculous. The female bartenders aren't very friendly but that's ignorable. The ladies restroom is pretty disgusting. There's always trash everywhere and they expect you to dry your hands with this disgusting wet and dirty reusable towel. Not happening! Other than that it is still a fun time.
Review Source:This was my first time. I just went in for my boyfriend's birthday. The karaoke was awesome (Wednesdays nights only)! It was so much fun. Bit of an college crowd as well as older generations. It started to get busy around 9pm. I didn't drink so I don't know the prices or quality they served. But based on my boyfriend's input, he said that it was overpriced and the drinks were poor quality.

I moved to Fresno in July, and starting my first semester at state, it was told that Old Town was the place to go. Â My first experience was great, and I couldn't wait to go back.. It is true, Thursday nights are the best nights to go-- mostly college students/ people around the ages of 21. Â I had mostly gone on Thursday nights, a few times on Saturdays. Â It is always full so if you want to get in, go there early! .
I am from Merced, it isn't much different than Clovis, so I don't know why they feel that their BAR is like a Vegas Club. Â If you don't get there by 9 on Thursdays, expect to wait in line. Â The funny thing is, once you get in it usually isn't even packed, so I don't know why they feel that they can keep people outside waiting who want to buy drinks and dance. Â
They have these VIP cards that people have, which can get in at anytime of the night and skip the line.. The sad part is, it is mostly girls who are hideous, fat, and can't dress. Â I called once to see how you could get one and they told me "once you start coming regularly for about 6 months, Thursday THROUGH Saturday, bartenders recognize you, the bouncers recognize you, and that they know you don't start trouble, they will issue a VIP card"..... Really?
The DJ sucks and plays the same play list every week and every day. Â They really should invest in a new DJ for different nights. Â I swear I can tell you which song will be played next.
The drinks are OKAY, $2.50 Coronas you can't go wrong.. But I have ordered Vodka plus sprite or tonic water and they are always so strong that I can't even drink them.
The bartenders can be rude, Â but I know which ones to order from and how to talk to them. Â I have over heard a bartender complain about a drunk girl once mimicking her and how she ordered her drink.. Bad customer service?
The place is small and could really do an uplift. Â If they just painted the walls and got rid of some of the junky decor, it would look a lot better.
Ok so, the main reason why I will never go back is because I recently celebrated my birthday there and had some friends come down to celebrate it. Â Our plan wasn't to go to Old Town, but somehow we ended up there. Â It was a Saturday night and we had to pay $5 to get in (which is dumb, c'mon what are we paying for to get in?). Â The night was fine until 2 am and they were yelling at my girl friends to get out of the bathroom. Â What bar does that? Â Then as we were waiting for our taxi, they told us we couldn't stand outside the bar because it was loitering, totally understandable. Â Our cab was right around the corner and my friend made a sarcastic remark towards one of the bouncers and somehow the Clovis police were just right around the corner. Â My birthday night ended with a friend arrested for no apparent reason. Â He is half black and with a staff full of white people.... Well, I can assume why he got thrown on the ground and arrested.
I've been to old town several times and I TRY Â to find the merrits of this place and I just can't.
Each and every time I've been to Old Town, it's been over crowded, the drinks are weak for the price, and the service has not been even remotely friendly from the door guy to the bartender.
The DJ is decent, but the dance floor is small.
The crowd is young and down to earth (and generally very nice).
This weekend, we went to old town with a group of 15 girls and the door guy said he was not allowed to cut a deal for the cover charge on large groups. I asked for the manager and he refused. The cover was $5 no matter what aparently...
Not very smart.... we would have gotten a deal in Vegas, this is Clovis, let's be real..... Â We're not spring chicks granted, but we're smart women with jobs who can DRINK so we went to Kimmies down the street instead and spent a lot of money!

I love it here, a couple of my buddies from home are in a frat sigma nu and we love to hit this place on weekends and fist pump the night away with five dollar beers and not to many stuck up females not willing to dance and have a good time. Staff does well on dealing with the fequeny rush at the bar!
Don't wear a plain white t though and think your getting in lol... Fail on my part but a quick fix!

Old town saloon is a great place to go for drink specials. Unfortunately, the place is a bit small and they can fix it up a bit. Women's bathroom stall door couldn't close/lock and I think that's been an issue for awhile that they still hasn't fixed yet.
Pretty chill place to hang. You can dress casual and won't get denied entrance because you have on some board shorts and flip-flops.
Umm.. what else...Oh and the "DJ" plays the same old songs every weekend..
Thursdays gets pretty crowded, so I suggest you getting there early or waiting in line for an hour and a half.
I feel sorry for every person that's has this place as a bar to go to. On their 21st bday. For having the smell of vomit and ass hit you like taco shits isn't worth waiting in that line. Do bars in Clovis really need a cover charge. I have been to bars in many states and different countries. If there is a cover you usally get a free drink or all you can drink. You figure that they would use the money to fix this place. Even If I didn't travel I would still not recommend this place. The cool part is the mixed crowd, surpraise for Clovis and it's stance on certain things. Â The bartenders are cool. Some of the bouncers are dicks. Take the job too seriously your a step below a rent a cop. You check Ids and God help you if have to break up a fight or have to run . Anyways since Clovis doesn't have much of a selection on bars I and all Clovis have to go here.
Review Source:It was a cool place. However, what really bothered me was the smell of vomit when you first walk in. I swear, it hit me like a ton of bricks. It faded a little when we ordered our drinks. When we started dancing, it got so hot in there and BOOM! Here comes the vomit stink again. I had to go outside and get some air because I couldn't take it anymore. I was getting sick to my stomach and it was way too hot in there. I probably won't go back anytime soon.
Review Source:cool chill place. drink specials pretty good music playing too. wednesday night is karaoke night i hear...gonna have to check that out sooner rather then later. Cool place to just hang out in low key no reason to get all dressed up. It is next door to the cellar a not so great dancing joint i hang out here and sometimes check the cellar after midnight if friends feel like it. Overall chill place. Oh and you can only charge your card here once so leave a tab open till you are ready to stop drinking...just a friendly tip.
