I really like this place, good food, good service and usually some local beers on tap. Â They make a great burger here, in fact that's all I've ever tried here, but it is very good. Â The service I've had has always been really good and the place has a cool atmosphere. Â I like that they rotate local beers on tap (2 brothers, Solemn Oath), plus they have a pretty good variety of other craft beers on tap and in bottles. Â Overall a fun place to hang out and watch a game and grab some beer with friends. Â I will definitely be back.
Review Source:After the renovations I feel like this is a new bar! The tableside taps are awesome! Love the concept! The food is always exceptional and the atmosphere is always upbeat.
They added A LOT of new TV's! Good viewing angles from all over.
And the server we had last, shame on me for not getting her name, was by far the most energetic and fun server we have had there.
I really look forward to my next trip to Old Towne!
Was physically assaulted by the 5'2" Bar tender at last call- he poured too late then rushed us through the round. Â When we voiced our concern, he charged us from behind the bar.
Managers/owners- Check the security tape for closing time on 4/14/2012 - you're lucky you still have a bar and that I don't own your house.
Came here a few weeks ago got the VIP Bobby Hull event they were having. I had a great experience from start to finish!! I found this place on my lovely little Yelp app and then found them on facebook and of course "liked" them. I saw an advertisement for the Bobby Hull book signing event and knew I had to do it for my boyfriend for his Valentine's Day gift, He would love it!!! the flyer said you had to come in and pay for the book ahead of time, well I work all day and Geneva is about 30 mns from my house so I didnt really want to drive there to just pay for the book. I decided to call them and Chad was a huge help!! He let me pay for the book online with my credit card so I did not have to come all the way there to do it, THANK YOU CHAD!!!
the VIP event was $50 bucks which included Bobby Hull's book, his autograph, pictures with him, food and a $10 giftcard. I did not think that was bad at all!!!
I got there a little late cause I dont get out of work til 5 and it started at 5 but he was signing autographs pretty quick and letting people take all the pictures they wanted...such a nice guy!! While I was in line the event coordinator gave us our $10 gift card and then ALSO gave us a $25 giftcard......SWEET!! I had also seen a groupon for this place so i bought that so I could try their food(mostly the buffalo sauce that I had heard so much about). My friend and I ate some of the food they supplied for the VIP event and then ordered off the menu. We started with the nachos which were amazing and full of toppings so you didnt have any naked chips! I then ordered the buffalo chicken with fries...OMG the buffalo sauce is so worth all the hype and was even dipping my fries in it. The fries were seasoned and crispy and you got a huge amount. We had so much food to go home and still have the $25 giftcard to use!!! We will be back for more Buffalo sauce very soon!!
We had our rehearsal dinner here in October. Â Since our party was 35 people, they had us in their newish basement room. Â At first I was apprehensive and was hoping to switch to upstairs - but it turned out really well! Â The basement area has it's own bar and everyone had a great time. Â The price was very reasonable per person - I think $15? Â Much cheaper than other nearby options. Â We had fried chicken, Italian beef, pasta salad, salad etc.
I've also been there on other occasions - be sure to sit outside in the summer!
Came here with my friend Friday night around 7ish. Packed! It's funny to walk into a pub and see families with kids, grandparents, college kids to young adults. This place is a hang for everyone. Nice decor, good feel, a nice Pub. GREAT FOOD!
I got the Buffalo Style Breaded Chicken for 8 dollars and added the bleu cheese for a dollar. Sandwiches were served with choice of fries, potato chips or homemade chips & salsa, and I got the FRIES! They were seasoned and tasty, loved it. I was hungry and finished everything. It was cooked well even thought it took forever to come out.
My friend got the baked mostaccioli and her's look awesome. A large plate filled up good with garlic bread and she was served a yummy salad before that. That was 10 dollars. We were going to get dessert but we were too full!
Our waitress hardly gave us attention, she was friendly but too busy talking with the other waitresses. It was a good stop in Downtown Geneva and I will go again for some good food and hang.
EH, went on a friday night. the main floor was pretty packed with diverse group, singles, dates, families(!). It was so nice out, so we sat up on the deck, which was empty. We ordered Nachos and the sampler app - all of which tasted like it came out of a box....cheap nacho cheese, fake gauc, over fried, it was just horrible. Oh yeah, and the beer was served in plastic cups! Will NOT be back.
Review Source:I've been going to OTP since I turned 21. That's when I discovered that they had AMAZING food! Â The drinks are usually strong (which means you're getting your money's worth) and decently priced. Chad is hands down the best bartender there. For alcoholic drinks, I highly recommend their Long Islands, Purple Haze, and Shock Tart shots. As for the food, the chicken fingers are huge and meaty, the potato skins are pretty much half a potato, and the mostacholli is TO DIE FOR! I hear the wraps are killer (I know they're HUGE), and their pulled pork burger (so I hear) is delicious. Great prices for the amount of food you get, too!
Review Source:How can anyone not give this place a 5 star review!
I'm a vegetarian and it's really hard to find food to eat in a Pub/bar atmosphere without going appetizers. Well, I have found the place! Three different items on the menu for vegetarians; Eggplant sandwich, Baked Mostacolli and 1/3lb Veggie burger (I love that they put the 1/3 lb, makes me feel like they're advertising a 1/3 lb burger!)
The interior is very nice. Wood, several high tables and enough flat panels with sports on to know what's going on but it's not constantly in your face. I've been there twice now and only sat downstairs. I can't wait until it's warmer out then we can sit on the roof-deck!
The only thing that I would like to see is some sort of beer menu. I can read the taps, but no idea what bottles of beer they have unless I go up to the bar and squint to read the labels of the bottles that they have on a shelf behind the bar. I've been told that's not all of what they have though. So please, just get a beer menu and this place will be over the opt!
If you're looking for some tasty wings, go here! Â (40 cents on Wednesday nights)
They also have great burgers, dogs and other specialties. Â From what I could tell, pretty much all of their food is made from scratch.
They have an outdoor deck and plenty of space inside to bring your friends for food and a few drinks.
Enjoy!
This place is cool. Appearance is everything and this place has it. Yes, it's just another pub with decent food but they have two great party rooms and a great deck for the warmer days. The deck doesn't aim directly at Rt. 38 which is nice but you can see it from there to see some action. The drinks are reasonably priced and they have some good bands from time to time. There is also another one in St. Charles that I here is cool but I haven't been there yet. Service isn't bad but it can get busy in there especially during festivals in Geneva.
Review Source:We stopped by here on Friday afternoon for some lunch and some pre-tux-fitting beers. Â We were seated at a table on the roof-deck and it was a beautiful day outside.
The servers were fast and friendly. Â we all had the "Famous Italian Beef" sandwich and it was amazing - the fries were really good too.
I've eaten here a couple times and everytime the food was tasty. However the last and final time (I'll ever eat there again) was a couple months ago when both my wife and I got salmonella poisoning from the place. I'm sure it was a fluke, but nonetheless- when it happens the place is blacklisted for me. I even contacted the owners to let them  know of the situation, no response was given.
However it should be mentioned that I would have given the place 4 stars prior to the incident. And I have friends who live near the place who frequent there and have never had a problem.
I am convinced they put some kind of addictive substance in the Buffalo Chicken Wrap. Â Its super good! Â (i literally eat it once a week)
The food is great, they always have drink specials and its just a fun, laid back atmosphere. Â It gets crowded, but there is an outside deck, upstiars and downstairs seating.
Its one of the best bars in Geneva!
This place was actually pretty good for a bar/eatery. Â I ordered a Snakebite, (Woodchuck and Guinness). Â It was awesome! The appetizers were surprisingly good for bar food. Â I had 2 kids with me and they were welcomed with no probs. Â It was around 1:00 p.m. when I went so there werent too many people in there which was fine with me...the waitress was attentive and pleasant.
Review Source:I have eaten here a number of times and it's usually pretty good. I like the chili dogs, potato skins, and the pepper and egg sandwiches. They have these sweet peppers that are really good, they're very sweet like they have been in sugar. Â The help can either be bad or good. I have had a few orders messed up and I did get a piece of Key lime pie and it tasted liked they left the key lime out of it. It was so gross, it makes me want to puke just thinking about it. It tasted like a sweetened condensed milk pie. Not sure if that is how it is usually or if it was a mistake that day. Will go back and would recommend.
Review Source:If you are on the lookout for a bar with decent food, this is the place. We were on a morning bike ride along the river and on the way back decided to detour here for lunch. Food was decent, with many options to choose from, including a good variety of salads. Buffalo Chicken salad had a whole chicken breast laid atop the combination of chopped Romain, egg, bacon. So plenty of protein, although the salad itself was overdressed with ranch a bit. Chicken wings were not bad either as an appetizer, with the right kind of zing to them. So would I make a special trip here? No.... but as a lunch option this place is worth ducking into if you are in the neighborhood over the weekend and are looking for a cold draft beer and some food to go with it.
Review Source:I went tonight to meet a friend who now lives in Geneva, IL. Â He suggested Old Own Pub. Â Now, Geneva is a yuppie/richie town, but still breathes that small town feel being 30+ miles west of Chicago.
Guess what I ate at Old Town? Â Fish. Â Fried fucking fish. Â Succulently breaded haddock....It was amazing and well, I'll have to go back to Irish Mill in Mundelein, because I think Old Town's rivals Irish Mill's fish fry! Â That is definitely saying something. Â I've had fantastic Midwestern fish fries in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan, and Old Town lived up to the challenge.
Portions the size of the state of California served at reasonable prices, I'll be back. Â Granted, it's a hike from the Loop to get to Geneva, but the food is damn good.
Ed, if you read this review, let it be known that I'm bathing in fried fish grease tonight. Â Bring home the bacon and a bottle of gin and we're in for a nice party! Â No pigeons allowed!
