We love the burgers and the (what you all are calling) dive atmosphere. We ate here a lot after late work nights in the 90's. We've since moved away, and cannot find a place to match Olde Towne! Prices are great, service is fine. We can't wait to return - so glad it still is what it was 20 years ago!
Review Source:This place suits me just fine! Â Good live music with a rockabilly and Americana feel on the nights I go. Â It's an American dive bar and I wouldn't want it any other way! Â Â ---------- Â Go to Applebees or TGIFridays if you want fast service and clean cut, interchangeable bartenders. Â Go here if you prefer real people with their own personalities.
Review Source:This place is pretty divey. And not so much in the "oh, this place is fun and unique" way. It's pretty rough around the edges, and the usual scene here involves scanitlly-clad women and Ed Hardy-clad men. The bar did have some good deals but not enough to warrant going there again. I think the guy that threw up in the middle of the room (and about three feet from me) and seriously turned me off from this place. There's plenty of others places in Frederick to get a drink; avoid this one.
Review Source:I seriously do not get all the hate on this page for some poor little cheapy main street bar. I'm sorry you got beat up, Lee M., but let's not get petty. Calm down people, and have a beer! The PBR's were only like $1.50! My boyfriend and I effortlessly nabbed a table in the front window (perfect for people-watching [this is code for stranger-mocking]) all night on a Saturday and had a very pleasant time. The bartenders were attentive but not overbearing, the band kinda sounded like a Nickelback knock-off, but they weren't too loud in the front, the crowd wasn't chic, but hey that's just more fun (see above hobby). We spent a good couple or hours there and our tab wasn't even over $20, I can't tell you how refreshing that is having lived in DC for the last couple years. We left wishing we could find a place just like it near our house.
Review Source:Small town bar full of rednecks and washed-up jocks looking to take out their aggressions on an innocent bystander. Bouncers? Yeah, not so much. Pretty useless, considering they are FRIENDS with the knuckleheads that pick fights every Saturday night. The bartenders are average. Pitiful excuse for a stage for the bands to play on.
Review Source:Based on one visit: Typical bar food in a typical dive bar with pretty slow service, especially considering the place was almost empty. Â Minimal beer selection. Â Holds some promise for the fact that they have live music, but I haven't experienced that so rating is for food, beer and service only.
Review Source:A buddy of mine summed this place up pretty well when he said, "Basically your in a bar that at any moment someone is going to punch you in the face."
Roughneck crowds aside if you catch the OTT on the right night it can be pretty fun. Also, Virginia Coalition used to play here all the time. Talk about an intimate venue.
Plus, I hear they have great hamburgers.
