On Tap is a sports bar/restaurant with four locations in Alabama. We decided to try this new location in Fultondale. We came about 6 pm on Sunday night and there were only about 5 groups there.
We tried the Philly cheese steak flatbread and fried pickles as appetizers. The fried pickles were only $4.99 and the serving was larger than I expected. They were good, crispy, not too salty, and not too greasy. The flatbread was $7.99 on the menu, but we were charged $6.49 (?). It was A LOT smaller than we expected it to be. It was a small square flatbread topped with seasoned steak and melted slices of American cheese. We enjoyed the flavor of the steak especially but felt it was a little overpriced for the size.
I got the Alli burger which comes with grilled onions and mushrooms, cheddar cheese, and BBQ sauce on a croissant. The croissant was fluffy like a roll instead of flaky so it wasn't quite what I expected. I didn't care much for the BBQ sauce they used but thankfully there was only a little drizzle on it. The BBQ sauce was sweet and very smokey, I prefer a spicier sauce. The burger was juicy but didn't add much flavor. For some reason it seemed like part of my patty was missing  because I got several bites that were just cheesy onions. It was a fairly small burger for the $10.99 pricetag.
My husband got the boneless wings, hot. He and I both agreed that the sauce tasted smokey, almost like a chipotle flavor, not like typical hot wing sauce. He didn't finish all of his because he got tired of the smokey flavor. They weren't very spicy either, they seemed more of a medium heat level.
My homemade chips were very good, perfectly crispy. His side of fries was a large order for the price and they were very good as well, almost shoestring size. The menu price was $2.49 but we were charged $1.99.
My mother-in-law got mild boneless wings and she enjoyed hers. My father-in-law got the classic burger and didn't say anything special about it.
Summary:
The food was just OK but didn't leave us yearning to revisit in the near future. I think our entrees and the Philly flatbread app were overpriced.
The waitresses were young, nice but maybe a little inexperienced.
Seems like a good place to go to watch a game with a group of friends but I don't think it's a place to go if you're looking for a mouth watering meal.
FYI they do not accept Discover.
