I liked that they had pinball, foosball, pool darts etc. The staff seemed nice enough. But the overall style of the place wasn't my taste. It's was sports bar like and the lights were far too bright. Though I like to smoke on occasion it turns out even with their efforts at keeping the place well ventilated it still bugs my respiratory system to be around that much smoke.

I am a fan of this place. Shuffle board~foozball~Darts~Pool~Music~ Locals. I warn you though, its a smoking bar and from the sounds of it, one of the only legal ones in california. So you can be sure people will be smoking indoors. Pretty good ventilation though. At first it looks dive bar-ee but after a couple drinks, it feels like home. I would recommend this place if you are just going somewhere to hang out and chat with friends while playing some good bar games. Plus there is a taqueria  right across the street :)

Been going to this place like 5+ years now since the Feds moved me into Santa Cruz's W.P.P. (and after stealing it from an Ex-girlfriend)...

Getting right to the point, It's simply a great old skool legal smoking neighborhood bar with the amazing staff of Jeff, Rob, Duane, Vinnie, Katie, Eddie, Val, Kelly & Kathryn, catering to a very diverse and cool local 20's-30's crowd.

She offers three pool tables with decent pool cues (unlike those pieces of driftwood you find in other bars), "Free" (my immigrant Father's favorite word) steel tipped (real) darts & five dartboards/lanes, Free shuffleboard, Free video trivia, TVs everywhere and a jukebox that literally plays EVERYTHING. So if you're like me and you judge a bar on it's eclectic mix of music... This is home. I've literally heard everything in this bar 'cept maybe Mongolian Throat Singing...

Do not take any of the previous "health & welfare" posts seriously as it's a safe place under the eagle eyes of their veteran staff and bar regulars. Issues here are a very rare event as the bar self polices. Douchebags and "ne'er do wells" (both foreign & domestic) are quickly and unceremoniously asked to slink bag from whence they came.

So in summation, If you like your bars dim, Your beer cold, Your drinks strong, Your staff attractive & friendly (with their attitude/sarcasm levels set at "low" unless they know you and you tip lousy... {I said I was Sorry}) then this is the place for you, be you a local, a smoker, pool player, real (steel tip) dart player, drinker, party person, sports fan (Yes even the occasional Dodger or N.Y. Giants fan is welcome even tho' this is a Giants, A's, Niners, Sharks and sometimes Raiders bar), Nascar fan (during certain shifts), pirate, ninja, cowboy, cowgirl, winning coed softball team, hipster, hippy, tourist, blue collared folk, white collared folk, all veterans, surfers, retirees, food critics, rockabillies, rockabetties, trustafarians, tired bikers, the occasional off duty cop, people going to a show at the Rio, people coming from a show at the Rio, soccer players, teamsters, construction workers, contractors, patriots, tattoo artists, lawyers, millionaires, hundredaires (like me), friends and the occasional former New Yorker like me...

One more thing, IMHO Duane the bartender, who works Friday to Monday days, makes the best Bloody Marys in the county.

Love this place, crew is cool! Pour a great drink and much to do. Great place to hang out.

Crowds of (ex?)ska kids bombarded this bar recently before a show at the Rio. The place was packed, and there was only one bartender on duty. Usually, this spells disaster for thirsty patrons, but nope! He was on top of his game! Drinks were plentiful, quickly served, and the bartender was amiable. Win-win-win.

The bar itself was hugged in a smokey haze, but I think it makes for a good dive bar when there's a fair amount of grossness to it. To quote Carl from the Simpsons when Moe was thinking of re-doing Moes, "Oh, but Moe -- the dank. The dank!" Carl knows what's up.

& Smoking Parlor...not on the sign and this place is one of the biggest, smokiest dives in the county. YUCK!

I absolutely love the Double Oh. I play darts there a lot and the bartenders/cocktail waitresses are awesome to be around. You are sure to find a good time at the 100h7

Dive bar, But what do you expect from hippie central Santa Cruz. It's great if you've got a group and can just shoot the bull. There's not much for entertainment or moving around space. Duane the older bartender makes a tasty bloody mary though!

while the darts and pool tables are nice, there are way too many drugs flying around the place both in the bathrooms as well as the side door area

I'm a pretty big fan of this place mostly because I smoke and I love to play pool, but I can see that if you were not interested in second hand smoke, You probs don't wanna kick it here.

They do offer an obscene # of drunken activities to partake in. Pool, darts, scratchers (which I tend to purchase a lot of when drunk). The Bartenders are pretty awesome. Jeff, older guy, is a doll and always gives me big hugs. Big fan of their free drink chips as well, which they slip you if your prove yourself worthy.

The croud you will find here tends to not be the "best looking" and "most popular" crew in town, but it's a mellow place to have a drink, a cig, and a game of pool pre-gaming on a friday night.

This is a good sized bar and you can get your drink without having to wait forever. Even on busy nights. Plenty of fun bar games to play as well. Darts, Pool, and shuffleboard are all available.

My only issue with the bar is how absolutely smokey it is inside on busy nights. It advertises itself as one of the only legal bars to smoke inside, but this place can get ridiculous. So those with issues with cigarette smoke wouldn't be liking this place too much.

One of my all time favorite bars and definitely my favorite in Santa Cruz.  super chill with pool tables, darts, shuffle board, etc... The bartenders are always nice and it's a great place to chill with friends to watch a sports game.

Plenty of pool tables, great jukebox, two HD screens, sports, full bar, atm and last place in Santa Cruz County that you can legally smoke and drink in. Sure, lots of places don't enforce the smoking ban, by the One Double Oh Seven battled the legal world to allow it to continue to smoke. And smokey it is! Mixture of locals and college students.

I mostly go in late on Thursday nights and recently have been honored with washing glasses for Jeff. Bartender Jeff is the KING of Santa Cruz bartenders. This guy has hugged more women than Hugh Hefner and pours a good glass of booze.

A little local Santa Cruz history, the main part of the bar is the original bar from the Tea Cup which was destroyed in the earthquake of 1989. Mark Swanson (owner) was able to save it and install it. Looks pretty good still

Probably my favorite bar in SC.
Intimate bar, friendly bartenders, cheap bar games (pool, shuffle board, darts), smoking allowed, no loud sluty bitches, plenty of room and never crowded, strong drinks, and divey but not at the same time...
Definitely check it out. I feel like if you don't like it, there's only 2 possilbe reasons why:
    1) You don't smoke.
    2) Your friends suck.

One of my favorite places to be:
Drinks are great (cherry kamiz, yum), bartenders are awesome, and the regulars are friendly!  It's also cleaned up nicely every night, so the divey build-up isn't there...

Best place in town for darts!

One of the lesser traveled more underrated bars of Santa Cruz. Off the main bar strip but makes up for it by having a plethora of close parking (as long as you have a DD). This place has virtually every bar game you could want or even think of: pool, darts, shuffle board, foosball, pinball, you name it. There's a plaque inside that says its the only bar in California that allows smoking inside because of their "innovative" wall of glass between the smoking area and the bar. This is obviously awesome for smokers, but can definitely be a drag if you don't like cigarette smoke because the entire place is usually filled with it. Don't expect to escape from the smoke by the bar either, there are ash trays over there too (hush hush) and I swear I've seen a couple of the bartenders smoking on the job. If you're a drunk smoker and you don't have cigarettes on you, don't panic! The 007 has a good selection of cigarettes and cigars. They have a fair selection of beer and a full bar, tho their bartenders will look at you funny if your drink order involves more than two ingredients. One plus is that it rarely gets to crowded, even on Friday and Saturday nights, but always seems to have a fair amount of people inside.

Overall a really fun place to come with a group of friends who are all ok with cigarette smoke, but don't count on meeting anyone particularly interesting there you didn't bring.

This bar is ok if you only drink beer. It's a short walk to this bar from my friends house so we end up here from time to time... but I recently discovered that the alcohol is watered down.

After 4 mixed drinks my friend and I thought something was weird because we were dead sober and both of us are light drinkers. We had our boyfriends get us shots of vodka... which should have smelled and tasted horrible but they were so watered down!!!

I'll probably return at the request of our friend but I probably won't be drinking here!

Besides the clouds of cigarette smoke and lack of oxygen I am really a fan of this bar. They have every game you could want to play and moderately priced drinks. Your typical dive bar with a little extra flair. Don't come here if you're looking for anything more.. you will be disappointed.

It's only a walk from my friends house which makes it's a little dangerous at times. If you're over capitola and downtown the 007 makes for a good place in the middle. Crowd is always lively and gets packed at times. If you're a local you will most likely see someone you went to high school with, and will be forced to say hi. Which can be good or bad.

Overall if you're looking for a good time with your friends or even yourself hit up the 007 I doubt you will regret it.

This place is perfect for owning your friends at foosball and wasting lots of dollars playing Bon Jovi on the jukebox. Yeah, that was me, sorry.
They also have darts, shuffleboard, pinball, scratchers, a snack machine, and "trivia" at the bar. I say "trivia" because it's basically just presstheletterthattheguynexttoyouyellsoutia. So despite the unchallenging trivia, it's a fun place if you are cool and prefer to drink and play games rather than dance skankily at some lame club.

    Oh my god.

This place is out of a movie.

    A bad bad movie.

It has a vibe like that bar in "Monster" outside of which Charlize's character gets arrested.

Complete with cheep beer, gambling machines, REAL crappy (and loud) music, more-than-usual sleezy men, blatant prostitutes, ready-to-fight bar brawling idiots, students trying to be cool by chain smoking, drunk under-agers, all wrapped up in a super super smokey package.

... all of which makes this a great place to play pool.

I almost passed out from secondhand smoke, but then again, I fucking hate that shit.

So if you love lung cancer, getting hit on in Spanish by men with gold wedding rings on, and being dogged by possibly-transexual hookers... you'll be fine.

Yes, the game room offers solid fun, mingling with locals and friendly service.  However...

Trying to watch the Niner game on a Sunday morning, already not feeling the clouds of smoke emanating from either side of me, the bartender announced that they were changing the channel in favor of Nascar.

    Enough said.

Love, love, LOVE one double oh!  Jeff is the BEST.  He always has a huge smile and big old hug for me when I visit.  He also has the most patience I've ever seen when dealing with those who've consumed a few too many.  I also love that you can play darts, shuffle board, pool, listen to music, foosball, trivia, watch sports, dance, yell - whatever you need, it's in there.

Free shuffle board, darts and billiards. Add on a juke box with an awesome selection (Queen and Tom Petty!!!) and make it walking distance from my house.

Splendid perfection. No attitudes - Nothing to prove.

It's my own little version of Cheers...go there often enough and everyone will know your name...which may not be a good thing :)

If i'm going to go out and drink then I want something to do so I don't get bored.  I love this place because they have ample pool tables, darts, and shuffle board (my fav.).  Every time i've been the people have been cool and the staff is always awesome.

1007 sits at the edge of my former home territory in SC. During the day, foraging would take place at Shopper's Corner, Vallarta, and the Buttery (the best smelling place on Earth), and at night, a short bike ride up the hill would drop you off in front of the 1 double oh 7. Strong drinks, nice bartenders that recognize you after you've put your time in, real darts (not those crappy plastic boards), pinball, comfy and plentiful bar stools, and decent ventilation add up to the kind of place that you could drop into at 10 or 11 am or 10 or 11 pm and not feel weird. The crowd here is composed of solid regulars, dude brahs (cruiser and pit bull waiting outside), randoms, people there to play darts and pool, and then some assorted young folks. 4 stars for an emphasis on strong drinks.
