My wife and I went here because I won a gift certificate. Â It's in the middle of nowhere, and adjacent to a hotel off the interstate. Â The parking lot was being used as a car sales lot. Â This should have been our first tip-off that this place was a nightmare.
It's touted as a sports bar. Â There are two TVs, neither of which was playing sports. Â There were advertisements for a Chippendale's "ladies night" event. Â They were blaring county music at an obnoxious level. Â We went here on a Friday night, and were eager to watch the Red Sox/Yankees game. Â No dice. Â Oh, by the way, no liquor license and their selection of beers is terrible.
This is where I would normally comment on the quality of the food and service. Â I'm afraid I can't do that, because we sat at a table for 15 minutes and were absolutely ignored by the staff. Â We were the only people sitting in a table - we were kind of hard to miss. Â The wait staff, two girls, were preoccupied earning their tips by flirting with some construction workers, and never made an attempt to help us. Â We eventually gave up, gave our gift certificate to a group at the bar, and left. Â We won't return. Â I'm not confident this place will last long - as a veteran of the food service industry, it's pretty easy to spot the failures. Â This place is doomed. Â Good riddance.
If your looking for small little bar & grill to unwind, I would recommend this place, a little out of the way but worth it. There is one waitress who does pretty much everything in (cooks, waits, bartends) and does the best job ever. I have never had such wonderful service from any waitress in this town, they could learn from this gal. I mentioned the wonderful service to the manager who told me she would be lost without this gal.
I would recommend going on a Friday or Saturday, some of the best prime rib I have ever had, soft, very little fat and just melts in your mouth. The shrimp is good also.
Give them a try when you want a place where you can eat and drink and hear yourself think.
My dad brought an order of food to go back home from this place when I was visiting over the holidays. The selections seemed varied, we had beef, bison and grilled chicken breast sandwiches. My grilled chicken was well prepared and I wish I knew where this place got their buns! They were a notch above what I'm used to having in Idaho and really enhanced the eating experience by not falling apart. I could have used one more piece of lettuce on my burger but otherwise it was a winner.
My only complaint would be their french fries were kind of limp and very white. This is because most places in Idaho want to serve "fresh" cut up Russets, but don't dry them out enough or twice fry. If someone reads this review from the restaurant, a little coaching and extra time could completely eliminate this issue.
I'd totally eat here again, this was some surprisingly tasty bar food. To go packaging was easy to handle and not Styrofoam.
Hopefully this place's relatively remote location doesn't doom them and they are around for many years. They have live music on weekends, I've been told. The business is relying on Facebook for a website, so I cannot link to it here.
