This place is a poor excuse for an italian restaurant. Â I read the previous reviews and someone said that this place had good alfredo. Â My girlfriend and I were traveling from NC and we decided to gas and try the local food in Lynchburg. Â I gave it a shot considering it looked and SMELLED like a hole in the wall.
We ordered calamari and marinara sauce, chicken alfredo with broccoli and cheese tortellini with pesto sauce. Â I asked for light on the alfredo... it was ignored... Â YOU COULD SERIOUSLY DROWN A RODENT IN THE AMOUNT OF SAUCE. Â (strike one).... Â The calamari claimed to have marinara sauce... the chef decided that shrimp cocktail sauce would be a perfect substitute. Â It was terrible. Â My girlfriend and I were making jokes about how we bombed our dinner plans with crappy food.
When I checked out... Â I couldn't help, but notice the BUCKET full of marinara sauce placed next to the pizza station. Â I was tempted to ask the server what was the proper sauce that goes with calamari, but my girlfriend advised me that it would rude and improper, so I went with the next best thing. Â BASHING THIS PLACE ON YELP.
If you are tiresome traveler... avoid this place with all cost. Â The serving staff doesn't listen... they don't abide by the ingredients posted on their menu... and they even jacked up the garlic bread and salad. Â
Lesson learned.... for me.... Â suck it up and speed passed this crap hole of a restaurant. Â Save the appetite for the restaurants in Charlottesville, VA. Â It's worth it... at least by then you would have a better selection on food.
Pretty good!
If you have ever enjoyed a meal at a restaurant named Vinny's, Sal's, or Mario's you will find something you like here. Â I prefer OIP's Sicilian Style Pizza. Â It is a thick but light dough crust. Â
If you are looking for middle to high end Italian, this is not the place for you. Â This is more of a "neighborhood Eye-tal-yen." Â I've never had a bad meal here, and the price is right.
