    Delicious.

Every single time I've ever come I've only ordered the Apple Pancake, not sure if that's what it's called, but it's the special that they have where they basically take a gigantic fluffy pancake, put some baked apples on top, and just douse it in cinnamon sugar syrup. So good. Definitely recommended.

I always leave stuffed which is exactly how I wanna feel leaving a breakfast joint.

Added bonus: the prices are actually decent!

Portions are massive and their pancakes are heaven on a plate. I have a difficult time deciding between savory or sweet, so the two by four is the perfect breakfast for me. Or, if I am absolutely famished, I will get an omelette (which comes with a stack of pancakes!).  The only problem with the Original Pancake House is the typical wait. Fortunately, they are pretty good at getting people in and out pretty quickly and they offer free coffee during your wait.

For me...eating at a restaurant is much more than the taste of the food. That being said the manager or whoever this Hispanic man was that ruined my breakfast messed everything up for me on my first visit.

I ordered the pancakes, eggs and corn beef hash. I did not like the hash...just didn't settle right with my taste buds. I was sitting just over the wall from the kitchen so I could here this man asking my waiter what was wrong the dish.

The waiter said, "She just doesn't like it." The man said something like, "I'll go find out." The waiter said, "No!" as this man came around the wall asking me what was wrong with it.

I told him, "I just don't like it." He proceeded to tell me that they make it fresh and it's not from a can. I told him that I've never had hash from a can and that I just didn't like it. Very nice of him to assume I've only eaten hash from a can.  He was pushy and abrasive and just messed up my meal.

The pancakes were okay but I'd rather not pay top dollar for silver dollar sized pancakes.

I think you can get so much more for your money at 'Wild Eggs'. They put OPH to shame.

This is a solid breakfast place with a wide variety on the menu. They have fast and reasonably amicable servers, and if there's a wait to eat, which there often is, the line moves quickly.

We love the Green Chile Eggs Benedict, which seems to be a permanent staple on the specials menu. The chorizo sausage on it is excellent. The default preparation for eggs on the bennies is basted, but they will do poached too.

The Pancake House has a lot of options for specialty pancakes and waffles. Unfortunately, they do not use fresh fruit. Sugar syrupy clumps of strawberry or mini shriveled blueberries (that taste nothing like the fruit they originated from) are standard fare here. So I steer clear of the fruit items on the menu.

My husband and I frequent TOPH. It is our usual breakfast spot. The wait staff and managers are always friendly and fast. Food is never a let down. Amazing portions and even better coffee! I love love love the banana pancakes, my fav! Hubby is in love with the corned beef hash. He always goes in with a though of something else to eat but always settles for the hash! The buckwheat pancakes are awesome, especially with blueberries.

One of these days were going to try the dutch apple pancake. still building up the nerve to attempt to eat the massive awesomeness!

    Also FRESH SQUEEZED ORANGE JUICE!!!

When I like a place, I'm all in.  They must have the food quality first then service second.  All that and gluten free is huge.  That's why this is a 5 star breakfast.  I bring my little girl her for a 'Daddy'' breakfast time.  They are always accommodating for any changes.  The wait staff always makes a fuss over my daughter and son with crayons and things to draw on.  I dig them the most!

This is not healthy.  Good, absolutely.  Healthy, no way.  At least not what I had.

That being said, this is exactly what I needed after a night of carousing.  I used to live near the DTC location and sometimes did the same thing.  The food does the trick, I think everything is very heavy on butter, that's my least favorite part.  I had biscuits and gravy and bacon.  The bacon slices are massive, which is going to make me happy.  The main dish was tasty, however the eggs and potatoes were too greasy for my taste.  The pancakes are always light and fluffy and very good.

Service here has always been good, we had the puppy and they let us sit on the patio with her as long as she was on the other side.  I was quoted a wait time of 15-20 minutes, but had my rump in a chair in less than 5.

It seems a little pricier than some other breakfast spots, but it's not terrible.

Have you ever tried their green chili cheese pancake? It's like making love under the rain - without the shivering cold and 3 days of fever afterward! Holy cow I found my new fav breakfast!

Waiters never saw a coffee mug they didn't like to fill.  I'm glad I'm as thirsty as a hummer on the highway.  Coffee - They warm it up and keep it filled.  I love the Corn Beef Hash and Eggs.  Sometimes you gotta love the can stuff... but this ain't that.

If you're looking for pancakes, I mean real pancakes that can be made any way you can imagine - this is your place.  Nobody in town is doing it better than the OPH.

The staff works their butts off due to the large crowds all the time but they're still friendly and patient with you as you peruse the huge menu.

They have a big patio area so there's usually a chance you can sit outside, which is what we all want here in Colorado.

Tip:  Ask them to go lightly on the whipped cream if your plate calls for it.  If you don't, you'll get almost two cups of whip cream and that's just not good eats.

That I haven't reviewed OPH up until now seems almost irresponsible of me.  I'm sure it's some subconscious desire to keep others away from this gem, so that my wait on the weekends doesn't get any longer.

I've eaten at a lot of breakfast joints in the Denver area - and OPH is my absolute favorite.  Food and service are consistently outstanding, and although there can be a huge crowd standing outside on the weekends, the wait for a table is always pretty painless and made easier by the delicious complementary coffee.  And speaking of delicious... we've yet to have anything here that we didn't think was fantastic.  The pancakes are fantastic, and though I was usually an apple pancake loyalist, I recently tried the blueberry pancakes, and they are equally amazing (a half order was plenty enough for me to share with my 2 year-old, and feel plenty satisfied,) the bacon is THICK and my husband's absolute favorite, the fresh fruit bowl contains whatever's in season and tasty, and is often accompanied by what seems to be housemade whipped cream (thick and creamy!)  The omelettes are absolutely massive - plenty enough for two to share and served with pancakes on the side.

This is no place for you if you're looking for a cheap breakfast.  For two adults and a 2 year old, our bill is usually in the vicinity of $30.  However, we're usually leaving with something to take home, and with no desire to have lunch after the huge breakfast, so I consider the price to be worth it.  Besides, it seems that you can't get out of VI or IHOP for much less than that anyhow - so the extra couple bucks for a far superior meal is worth it to me.

As expected, the place was bustling on a Wednesday morning, but in spite of that the service was some of the promptest I've ever had. My waiter seated me within seconds of my entering the building, was courteous and genuinely as friendly as can be, and never let my coffee (which was amazing, by the way) run low. I ordered the florentine omelette, subbing fruit for the three buttermilk pancakes that are included because I'm mostly paleo these days and was not in the mood for a stomachache, which was somewhat of a shame because I'm sure their pancakes are wonderful.

My fruit must have come out in less than three minutes and my omelette in less than five. You've never seen an omelette like this. It was eight inches in diameter and nearly an inch and a half thick. I never really knew what it meant for an omelette to be "fluffy" until I bit into this thing: the outer edges were perhaps slightly heavier than the consistency of homemade whipped cream. The inside was packed to the point of bursting with cheese, mushrooms, tomatoes, spinach, and all sorts of herbs. This was the best omelette I'd ever had, bar none.

I don't like to sit around waiting after my meal, so I usually try to pay the bill as soon as possible, and in this case that was taken care of well before I managed to finish eating.

The ambiance of the place is cozy and charming; they've got a wooden motif with stone fireplaces, but the lighting is also just right, not too dim. My sole complaint, which I felt inclined to indicate on the bill, was that while I was eating I could only just barely make out one of my absolute favorite Chopin pieces in the background (Op. 53, Polonaise "Heroic"). If they'd only turn up their music a bit, everything would be absolutely perfect.

The staff is always so friendly and attentive, even when you come in at 1:30 like we do. The food is consistently good and the coffee had a flavor that's good for picky drinkers. They also have complimentary coffee while you wait. I find that this location has a shorter wait than the other one in the DTC.

I am very rarely in this neighborhood so when I am, you know I'm stopping in for a plate of potato pancakes (see my previous review).  They are so good, why would I have anything else?  If you have not yet tried out "the original," just be prepared - you will wait for a table, unless you are open to eating at the Community Table (always nice, interesting folks sharing the space with you) - and - this place operates at a frenetic pace.  It's always crowded and bustling and loud.  Maybe that's how the best diners and breakfast joints are supposed to be!  My point is, this is not the kind of place where you can enjoy a leisurely, serene meal.  It's fast and loud and an organized sort of frenzy.  Most of us put up with it in exchange for those pancakes...

Continuing the celebration of my birthday, my parents opted to take me and the boyfriend out to brunch. I was craving eggs, he was craving pancakes, mom-french toast and dad-anything yummy.

This shop is super cute and country-ish. With long oak tables, old and new dishes displayed on the walls and  big stone fireplace burning makes me feel at home...a country home to be exact.

I ordered the special, which was Green Chile Eggs Benedict [amazing!] while the others in my party ordered the Banana french silk pancakes, cowboy omlette [eggs, meat and cheese topped with gravy!] and spinach eggs. All the food not only looked pretty but was delicious and we spent our morning sampling the various dishes at our table.

    Overall:
-Food: excellent. massive portions. but totally worth it.
    -Service: insanely friendly. helpful. quick.
    -Atmosphere: super cute.

    LOVE!

Arrived around 12:30 PM on a Sunday and NO WAIT!!!  (Lovely, since we had tried Snooze and it was going to be an hour.  Sorry, I'm not waiting an hour for breakfast food.)

I'm not a fan of pancakes.  They're alright, but I can't make a meal out of them.  I am a fan of waffles, and the coconut belgian waffle definitely tempted me.  I was afraid of the tropical syrup, which was described as pineapple, orange, and some other ingredients I stopped listening to.  I may try the waffle next time with regular syrup, but this time I went for one of the specials.

Both my friends got the green chile eggs benedict.  It looked good and they both enjoyed.  I opted for the cowboy omelette, with some modifications.  They gladly substituted the sausage gravy that comes with it for green chili.  And, I was able to get country potatos instead of pancakes.  Two words: huge and delicious!  I took half of it home.  The eggs were perfect, the meat lovely, and the cheese oh so melty and gooey.

So why not 5 stars?  Price for one thing.  We split the bill 3 ways: 2 eggs benedict, my omelette, and 1 iced tea.  With tip I laid out almost $18.  That's pricey for breakfast.  Now, the portion was large, but still.  Also, the glasses are small and I had to ask for more water.  Even with the price, if the water had flowed more regularly, it might have been 5 stars.  I'd definitely go back, someday when I'm feeling flush.

I am a regular at Pancake House and, despite some service mishaps and frustrations over the wait (it can be out of control) I think it might just be the best breakfast in Denver. I am writing about this location specifically, there's another one on Belleview but in my opinion this is the one to go to.

This is the perfect option for all your breakfast needs: after church on Sunday, before work on Monday, during your lunch break on Tuesday, for breakfast with the colleagues on Wednesday, for brunch with your grandma on Thursday, for your TGIF celebration on Friday, and with the fambam on Saturday. Seriously, I can't think of a breakfast occasion when this place wouldn't be a great option. But do be warned, it can be very, very busy.

I think my favorite item on the menu is the coconut Belgian waffle with powdered sugar and warm tropical syrup. If you're in the mood for a more savory breakfast, I'd recommend the corned beef hash with poached eggs or ANYTHING with bacon. Actually, no matter what you order, get a side of bacon. It's SUPER thick and absolutely delicious. Just do it.

Super thick bacon, perfectly fluffy waffles, warm syrups, freshly squeezed orange and, my personal favorite, grapefruit juice. To me that's the perfect recipe for the beginning of a good day. Beware of food coma, but it's totally worth it.

I loved my two experiences at Original Pancake House, even if I'm not a huge pancake fan (I know, crazy, right?).

The first time I went, I was in a huge pumpkin kick so I definitely had to try Sara's Pumpkin Pancakes... and disappoint, they did not. It had just enough pumpkin flavor that made it satisfy my craving but not too much to make me sick.  I also got to try some of pecan Belgian waffles, which were a little TOO sweet for me, but the waffle was cooked perfectly.

The bf and I were looking for a good brunch this past Saturday and after hearing the wait at Snooze (I WILL GET YOU SOMEDAY) was going to be an hour, we decided to head over here.

*Side note* What I love about this place is how fast the wait is. There's free coffee for during the wait, and the staff/restaurant is very efficient at getting people in.

We had the Mediterranean omelette (Love the taste of it, but the eggs were TOO cooked for me) and the Corned beef hash, which was my preferred dish.

I can't wait to try a dutch baby when I have some more people to share it with. That thing looks massive!

I have had breakfast here numerous times and have never been let down. Everything I have eaten there (pancakes, crepes, dutch baby, omelets, benedicts, & Ever Popular Joe) has all been wonderful. The bacon is thick and crispy and the omelets are huge and baked in the oven. They always have good seasonal specials and the coffee is always hot.
This location isn't as crowded as the Tech Center location unless it is the weekend, but even if they are on a wait, it is well worth it!

To visit an OPH in any city in the country on a Sunday is a perilous exercise. Long waits and uncomfortable kids in church garb tend to create a chaotic collision .

That said there's a reason they are so busy. My big tip: Get there by 8am and avoid the calamity.

This location is clean and the table turns were amazing. Quick seating, perfectly breakfast food with thick crunchy bacon, massive plate blasting omelets and pancakes plates akin to helicopter pads.

The service was gallant, artfully spinning around the hordes to refill coffee and water with aplomb. Well managed and excellent food.

Food was great. Pricey but really good. I gave it 3 stars because it was packed and with all the people running around on a hot day it was impossible to get another drink. Also, I sat in a booth by the fireplace and there is an uncovered switch there for gas. Says don't touch ..my 2 yr old grandaughter can't read and her little fingers wanted to turn that on.
Bacon is awesome. My daughter had the crepes and it was a huge amount.
To me $50 for breakfast for 2 and a half people is a bit much. I'd rather not take home a huge order and pay a little less.

Arrived about 11AM Saturday, and there was about a 15 minute wait - but not for the 'community table'!  Well, I'm a sociable guy, so that's where I was seated.  It's a nice long table with about 10 seats.  I chatted with some nice folks while I waited for my Denver omelette.  I am in Denver after all.   While waiting, I saw on the the Apple Pancakes served to a nearby table.   Yikes!  It looked as big as a cake.  I later saw that it was hollow, but what a pancake!

The omelette and it's three pancakes arrived, and it was delicious - and huge!   Yes, it really deserves its four stars.  I'll be back soon!

The Original Pancake House is a Sunday morning tradition in my family. We enjoy the variety of pancakes and omelets all made with fresh ingredients served in generous portions.  The must have is an order of the thick sliced bacon.  We share as it is really too much for just one person!

We prefer to get there very early to beat the crowd.  If we fail to get there before everyone, we put our names on the list than go over to Starbucks for a chai.  By that time the wait is usually not too long.

My favorite is are the Continental Crepes (2 are plenty) or sometimes I prefer the granola.  If I'm slick that day I bring a ziplock baggie and save 1/2 the order for another day. :)  Otherwise I just pig out and eat the whole order.

OPH is a great place to take the entire family where huge portions and lively atmosphere make for an enjoyable breakfast. The pancakes are always fluffy and delicious, eggs are always perfectly cooked, and the homemade museli is to die for. The food is always excellent. The only pitfall is the wait, which there always is on the weekends, especially on Sundays, when it can take an hour or more.

Good place for a casual business breakfast or meetup with relatives. Great food, friendly service. Nice location.  (Go late in the morning to avoid a long wait.)

That said, I'm just not a breakfast-place person. Many of these places are too stuffy and crowded for me (as opposed to cozy) -- the last thing I'm looking for in the morning. Original Pancake House is a bit on the crowded side, but the fantastic food and service make up for it. I've never understood why people tolerate long waits at a breakfast spot (unless it's a warm, sunny morning and they are just enjoying the outdoors).

    Good coffee.
    Pumpkin pancakes.
    Tasty, perfectly cooked, thick bacon.

I've been to this OPH twice and I haven't been disappointed.  No, the decor isn't anything fancy.  But the food is what it's about, people.  Their pancakes, the plain ones that come with most breakfast dishes, are SUPER!  They are perfectly spongy (to absorb syrup) and chewy (not soggy).  I can never eat my whole dish!

My mom loves their pumpkin pancakes, which are on the regular menu.  She doesn't have to wait for fall to enjoy one of her favorite ingredients!  My plain dad enjoys ordering scrambled eggs (without herbs), pancakes, and bacon.  Although, they don't have hashbrowns--they only have homefries.  (his only complaint)

The decor and atmosphere isn't anything to rave about, but the breakfast was one of the best I've ever had. $42 (with tip and tax) bought us a green chilli omelette (humungous, smothered in spicy green chilli that was thick with tender chunks of pork), a ham and cheese omelette (again, gigantic. A little bit dry but really delicious) that both came with three pancakes (light and fluffy. Not the absolute best ever but still very good), plus a side of home fries (generous portion, cooked perfectly extra-crispy as requested), a side of bacon (four rashers of thick and smokey deliciousness), and a couple of coffees (hot, strong, and constantly re-filled). While this wasn't the cheapest breakfast ever, we got a LOT of food.

Our server, Kimberley, was outstanding - friendly, uber efficient, and extremely patient/knowledgable answering our questions. tOPH gets extra thumbs up for offering egg whites-only omelettes and whole wheat pancakes. As far as breakfast joints go, this is as good as it gets imo.

Next to cereal, pancakes are my most favorite breakfast item, so this place is of course of my top places for breakfast around the Denver area.

The food is the reason I venture here, not the atmosphere. But nonetheless, they have a fantastically large selection of pancakes of all varieties and flavors, including Swedish pancakes with Lingonberries (Woo!). My favorite orders have been the Pecan pancakes and the Coconut pancakes though. Plus, the portions are enormous so you for sure will be full when you leave, even with a half-order of 'cakes (3 instead of 6) like I always order.

First visit here was on a Sunday morning before the church crowd arrived.  Definitely a great breakfast.  We had some crepes, specialty pancakes, and the apple pancake.  Everything was delicious.

If you don't get here before the church crowd, expect to have to wait.  The wait is worth it.  If you have a small group you may want to try the community table, it will get you in faster.  I've always loved places with community tables.  They give you the chance to meet people you otherwise may never get a chance to.  Besides it's fun.

Service here was very good.  They do a great job of getting you in and out.  My only beef with the place is it is a bit pricey for a breakfast joint.  It's worth it, but for breakfast, I'd almost prefer to go somewhere else with good cheap eats.

There is an OPH in my hometown and when I was growing up I always thought it was the only one.  I moved to Littleton in the early '90's, discovered this local OPH, and have been visiting ever since.

What Nikki and Lori say are so very true, so I'll simply add to their reviews.  The coffee is excellent.  The orange juice is fresh squeezed.  The butter is real, and it's whipped.  Everything is made from scratch.  The only time (and I mean the ONLY time) I ever order pancakes is here because normally I don't like pancakes.  These, however, are made in heaven.

Sausage and bacon are top grade.  Service is fast, friendly and excellent.  I have never, ever had a bad meal or experience here.  It is one of the very few places I don't mind the wait or the crowded seating.

Now that I'm older and wiser, I know there are OPH's all over the country.  Whatever you do, do not confuse Original Pancake House with Original House of Pancakes.  That's like confusing a tenderloin with salsbury steak.

Mmmmmmm, pancakes! The cakes here are to DIE for. My personal favorites are banana and sourdough, but you can order practically every kind of pancake imaginable: bacon, chocolate chip, coconut, blueberry, Swedish, and so on and so on. The omelets are supposedly great too, but I can't tear myself away from the pancakes long enough to find out.

The Dutch Baby Lori M. spoke of really is a unique treat, but I wouldn't try to eat one on my own! It would be great for sharing.

This place is packed to the gills on weekends, especially those after-church times, so expect to wait. The wait is totally worth it, though.

This is truly my favorite place to eat myself into a carb coma. Both locations (University and Belleview) are equally awesome.
