All the locals eat here for the best burger in town.......And it only cost $3

Went into this bar on vacation. It's definitely a dive but that's part of the fun. It's also well priced.

I got a schooner of Blue Moon while I was there. I knew Utah had wonky alcohol laws, but I didn't know the details yet. Apparently draft beers are all 3.2. So, even though I had a big beer, I wasn't feeling it. Depending on your opinion, that may be a good or a bad thing.

They are also a peanut bar.

When I went, men outnumbered women 5 to 1 and the ones that talked to me were quite rude, so it kinda ruined my experience. A very bro-like attitude.

Note: they don't take Amex cards

Spent a week in Park City...local bars are pretty bad...either after the tourist dollar or nothing.

One place my buddy got in a fight with the bartender who gave us the finger....at another a local drunk (no better way to put it) hit on us to buy him a beer...this was at 1 in the afternoon...the guy was plastered and they just keep serving him.

O'shucks should be O'Sucks... is a dirty, filthy nasty place...look a the goblets hanging from the ceiling and tell me you want to drink from one of them. Bartenders were vapid hippy wannabees...if you go in look at the electrical connections near the wall...they are a electrical disdaster waiting to happen...then look at the floor near the ice machine...not messy or dirty...filthy...it's plain gross...

    Never again...

Now THIS is a dive bar. It looks seedy and dark. The kind of place you really don't want to see with the lights on.Staff was super friendly and attentive but not exactly professional. More like their place of work is their home.. they're going to do and say what they want but will make sure you're taken care of as a good host would. Definitely the most laid back and casual bar on main street. FYI They make a mean Hot Cocoa with amaretto ;)

So disappointed with the bars in park city. Especially this place. Bartender was ridiculously rude, I walked out ! Fuck em!

Leave your Gaper clothes back at the hotel, this is a locals spot.

Very worthwhile to pick up some cheap schooners and mingle with the crowd.

I certainly met some interesting folks, and some who I'd have rather avoided.

    Good dive bar.

    Sweet things about this place:
    - It's cheap for Park City, and in general really.
    - Their stein glasses are freaking awesome. You'll feel like an irish medieval man, or a greek goddess I guess.
    - It's warm and cozy, and the bar tenders were pretty chill.

The only kinda lame thing about it is that the place looks dirty and ran down, but to be honest, it adds a fun personality to the bar, increasing the irish feel.

Just had drinks at the bar but the bartender (big tall Steve - and very mellow) was great - very friendly and calm even as the evening got really busy. Fun place to hang out and talk to different people as they come in off the slopes.

I stumbled in here during a night out in Park City and it was awesome! What a cool dive bar with cheap drinks and awesome music. The outdoor seating area and it's prime viewing for people watching and pregaming with their reasonably priced beverages. Love the schooners of beer... I haven't seen this anywhere else.

Usually like visiting Shucks for the cheap beer, hamburger special and peanuts. I also tend to stay away due to the "dude what do you want service".  I stopped in the Park City location mid day on a Sunday and found a spot at the bar. The first question the bar tender asked me was "do you have a tab", not what can I help you with, or welcome. It was fairly obvious that I just arrived since there were 4 vacant stools in a row.  I asked for a hamburger and a beer.  I waited about 10 minutes as he wandered back and forth taking new orders, no beer yet. I then got up to the bathroom, hoping it would be there when I returned, no such luck. A new group of sat in the vacant seats next to me and he took there order. I walked out! I have been here many times before, not a newbie. Too much hassle to get a $3 hamburger and PBR

It's not as bad as they say. I have never seen or smelled vomit, though I do try not to touch anything while inside.

The bouncers are also friendly and funny. What more can you ask for?

Dive Bar with super cheap beers, free peanuts you shell and toss on the floor, cheap and good burgers and filled with working class locals.  Order a schooner of PBR and wear your old jeans, and a tee shirt and save a few bucks to take a cab home or the bus.  This is a drinking hole in the wall, get down dirty and drunk.

Trashiest bar in Utah.  If your looking for trailer trash garbage go here. Employees are losers and place is absolute dump. If you're on vacation, skip this place at all cost.

We got the slowest/worst server on the planet. He delivered the wrong drinks when he finally showed up and other drinks he completely forgot to bring, even though we reminded him twice. Weird. The music was great though, live band- Controlled Burn.

Total dive bar. The lack of attitude was refreshing. They had a slightly malfunctioning pool table in the back, but we couldn't hang with the bathroom smell.

The burgers are average, but the drinks are cheap and the local oddballs hang out here...so the ambiance is great and the people watching is always stellar.

Super inexpensive drinks!! Quite small and smells like a frat house, but you forget all that when the drinks flow like water! The pool table serves as a great betting incentive.

Big beers and good guy to girl ratio!

This bar is small(about 15' wide) with a Pool Table in the back. Its a good place to drink with $3 Schooners on Tuesday Night.  There is a young crowd here with tourists who want to DRINK!

During the Sundance Film Festival the cover goes to $20.

    *Big drinks, good fun

This whole place smells like puke... then I found puke, and later stepped in it when I was drunk.  This place is a shithole, but I like shithole bars.  Cheap drinks, and PBR tall cans, yay.
Despite stepping in puke, my buddy and I pulled two girls from this place, so 3 stars for you O'Shucks!  Thanks for getting me wasted during Sundance  :D

O' how I am a fan of O'Shucks $3, what I will call mega glass, beer night. After a day at work, it's a perfect place to pop into to sit and drink a significant quanity of beer. I also like to enjoy there $3 ($4 with bacon) burger. There's nothing special about these burgers except that they are cheap and go along great with the 'mega' glass of beer.  Drinking and eating for under $7- who can ask for more.

Seated ourselves in the empty beer garden on a sunny Thursday mid-afternoon.  The outdoor seating area is shaded and dog-friendly.  Much less sloped than the street and ancient  food and beer spills provide traction within. Fun place to people watch along Main street but the views were obstructed by too much wood fencing.  Observed a lot of dog walking and tourists.  One lady had a stroller for her teacup white terrier named 'Precious'.  Larry David's stunt double sauntered by. Along with an ipod of teeny-boppers wearing Beatles and Jonas Brothers t-shirts.  I think I saw some famous people but no paparazzi were around to confirm.

The complete menu printed on a tiny one-sheet slipped in a clear plastic displays set on each table.  Walked inside to order because the bartender, Stephen ("big steve" on the printed receipt), was a one-man show. It felt like walking into a cave it was so dark inside. A pool table and video games sat deep inside this dive bar waiting to be played. Mac and Charlie would be comfortable sitting at the bar slowly getting stoned here.

    The "BALT" Sandwich:
crispy bacon, avocado, fast food-style shredded lettuce, tomato, toasted country white bread.  Every ingredient was fresh. Served in a plastic basket on a bed of plain old stale potato chips. Sandwich had too much slathering of mayonnaise. Easy enough sacrificing a couple potato chips to scrape it off.

    The Veggie Burger:
The only data point I have is my friend saying "its good" upon inquiry and eating the entire burger.  Didn't see the potato chips touched once.

    The Potato Chips:
    stale.

    The Sauces:
bartender set down a six pack cardboard case that had six sauce bottles instead of beer. Nothing was labelled but identified what I think were the following options:
    (1) ketchup
    (2) mustard
    (3) country mustard
    (4) bar-b-que
    (5) horse radish
    (6) secret sauce

The secret sauce reminded me of the conversation in 'fast times at ridgemont high':
    "What's the secret sauce?"
    "Thousand Island dressing."
"What's the secret sauce at Bronco Burger?"
    "Ketchup and mayonnaise."

    The PBR:
The cheap PBR in a can made the secret dirty hipster inside me happy (i.e., slightly less ironically bemused by life and/or living).

    Peanuts:
unshelled free peanuts served in schooners. Kept full solely by adding more. To play it safe don't go below the the top layer.  Clearly they just add more and never remove residual peanuts or shells. finely ground peanut shells form the base of the peanut schooners.  Protip: throw the peanut at your companions to accentuate your rants. The duct tape around the edges of the peanut schooners is just plain unsanitary.

As to be expected, people smoke in and around the outdoor area. Even the bartender took five.

    Oh shucks!

my first night in town i went down to shucks on main, where apparently everybody knows your name, well the recognize the face..it's all good.  it's a definitely a dive bar, but a trendy dive bar, but not a manhattan style trendy dive, but a $3 dollar schooner PBR, bud..but it's $3 for 2 beers worth, which is sweet.  the burgers are worth every penny of the 3 bucks, I would even pay 4 bucks, they are just that good (not $5 tho).  Peanuts are free as long as you toss shells on the floor or at friends, not the bartender tho James is a big dude.  pool table and buck hunter in the back, if you think you got the skills, but once your good and drunk, you will definitely think your good.  Kitchen closes at 11, but if you show your boobs you might get a late night snack, depending on your boobs.  All in all it's a good place to drink and snack cheap, hang out with the locals and maybe pick up a straggler or 2 late night, from inside or from the nightclub next door.  Though I have never seen a midget here, i think its my best odds at spotting one in PC.

    A complete dive.

    The floor - sticky
    The staff - rude.
    The patrons - drunk

    In short - perfect.

At some point in your life, you've probably been to a bar just like O'shucks. It's one of those throw-yer-peanut-shells-on-the-floor places whose regulars take pride in the bar's reputation as a dive.

Depending on the day of the week and the time of day, the clientèle could be i.) 20-somethings looking to tie one on for $30 or $40, ii.) well-off 30-somethings hoping to hook up with the 20-somethings, or who are just there to slum it with other rich 30-somethings who are slumming it, or iii.) heavy drinkers who've been sitting at the bar all afternoon.

The service has just a slight edge of rudeness ... enough to feel authentic (and you can see the appeal, since Park City has a lot of bland, upmarket bars & restos) but  not enough to actually be rude. I guess you'd say that the service is "cheeky," except that the servers are all dudes who probably would hate to be called cheeky.

The beer is cheap, the burgers are totally fine for the price ($3 on Tuesday afternoons during the low season!), and the peanuts are all-you-can-eat.

    What's not to like?

One of the best dive bars ever. The closest thing you'll find to a jock is the guy with a beanie and hoodie who rides park city all day. Down to earth fun people, cheap beer (scooners on Tuesday are 3 bucks yeehaw), great location, peanuts that can be eaten or used to throw into other people's scooners resulting in war, and close to the bus stop that will take you home for free.

This is a great dive bar!  Cheap drinks, big mugs for beer ($3), peanuts that you toss their shell remains on the floor, pool....and the original Mortal Combat game!...need I say more.

Beers are big and cold (order a schooner of anything on tap), peanuts are free and can be tossed on the floor, it's full of ski bum dirtbags, and the music is always good.  I am not a smoker, and hate the smell of smoke, but I almost liked this place better before the smoking bans kicked in, go figure......

Burgers are good, service is okay. I'm local and grow weary of the "we can screw the tourists" mentality that sometimes prevails here. I was given a gift certificate by my employer but discovered after I paid with it that they don't give change on gift certificates. That means my employer gave them $50, my bill was $40 after they added 18% gratuity to it. And then they kept the $10 change as well. What a rip off. And what's worse, they don't tell you. I found out after waiting for change that would never come. I had to ask. There's plenty of good food and atmosphere in this resort town that I don't have to feel like I got mugged when I left. Oh, and they don't take American Express either.

Okay, I am a bit hesitant to write a review because I don't want all the Sundancers flocking to this place, but here goes.

O'SHUCKS IS AWESOME. There are peanut shells on the floor, old men at the bar, and guys who just came in from the ski slopes with their arm in a sling.

The staff is quite the rag tag group - in fact, we got there around 2 in the afternoon, and most of the people at the bar, we found out, began working there around 6.

It is the perfect dive bar to escape all the Park City/Sundance Film Fest posturing.  Beers are cold, drinks are tasty, and they played some great music off the house iPod last night.

Cheers to everyone at O'Shucks, I had quite the sloppy good time.  Will miss it when I get back to NYC.

Even if it's below zero outside, people flock here. All this talk about Utah being a weird place to drink in gets thrown out the window here. No one ever asked us about a membership here and we were drinking well past the  normal hours. Especially when there are huge international events going on, this place is packed to the gills.

    Review Source:

Here are some tips for the o'schucks.

    1. If they ask you if you have membership, the answer is YES. If you answer no, then they will get money from you and generally think you are an idiot.

    2. When you order a beer on tap order either a "big beer" -- i.e. one in a schooner, and about 32 oz. or order a "small beer" -- i.e. a pint.  DO NOT under any circumstance order a beer in a bottle, and mixed drinks are also a little bit silly here.  If it is tuesday, then don't consider anything but a schooner, for it will be $3 and a small one is also $3, so you get 2 for the price of 1.

    3. If you order a mixed drink, it can not be a double (liquor laws restrict that particular way of ordering)--it must be a drink with a sidecar.

    4. if you order a shot it should only be jagermister or rumpelminze. Anything else will get dirty looks.

    5. Grease is the number one component in all recipes. The burgers ($3 on Tues, but not the veggie burger) are decent and served with a variety of condiments. Fry sauce (mayo and ketchup) is always used most amply.

    6. If you are wearing anything but jeans and a t-shirt/hoody you will stick out like a sore thumb.  However, it will be generally obvious that you aren't from pc, because you won't address the bartender by name.

    7.  Big Buck Hunter always has a line, except early on off days. Its fun... the pool table is less so, but its there.

The music is loud, the place is dirty, its usually crowded (if you happen to be around in the summer they have outdoor seating!), but its my home and I love it.

Very cool people here, the bartenders are always friendly, and the people are fun to talk to! They used to have oysters, but apparently no more. Rated 2nd best Ski Bar by someone. We went here after the owner  next door picked a fight with our friend, and we had a way better time here!

Stop in for a garlic burger and peanuts. Tuesday night is locals night and the big beers are discounted.
