Buffalo wings are good, Monday night's its $.50 for each bone-in wing, but they only offer either 5 or 10 wings so I don't get the point of making them $.50/each anyway. I didn't really like the male bartender, he was a bit snappy and I don't see what all the stress was for. It was my first time, and first impressions are everything. I's rather sit at a table than the bar with this guy working. They also add an automatic 20% gratuity which I don't like so I wouldnt have tipped the guy at the bar on account of his poor customer service

Owen O'Leary's is an old pal of mine.  For a few years in my early 20's, it was the "Central Perk" meeting spot for me & my friends...of course, booze & brews taking the place of the real "Friends'" java filled mugs.  We were literally here Thursday through Sunday & then select Tuesdays when a friend's band would perform.  My family often-times hit up the breakfast buffet after special Masses at our local church...it was pretty good.  I think that Owens may have fallen off a bit since those good ol' days.  It's under new management and nothing has really been done to spiff up the place.  I hate when you're eating in a restaurant & you keep catching the stench of an old wet sponge.  That was the unfortunate experience during my latest dinner at Owen's.  Our waitress was a flighty teenager, nice girl, but expressed apologies because of how eager she was to get back to college and that she wasn't "all there" that night, being that it was her last shift before going back.  We found it endearing and struck a conversation with her each time she came to check on us.  The pizza was soo very good years ago, I wouldn't write home about it now.  I do enjoy the Pot Pie & French Onion Soup & one of my friends raves about a dessert special that they make...I can't remember the name of it but I know it has vanilla ice cream & maybe some sort of banana or fried dough type thing under it all & topped with drizzled caramel or fudge.  Also, I think they still serve the Loren & Wally, it's a chicken breast sandwich for around $10 and .50 of the purchase goes to the Flutie Foundation.

The food is ok, typical bar food, and the bar tenders are very slow unless you're rocking a double D cup. I think the only time this place was every really clean was its first week open. At the end of it all you just have to ask yourself what kind of a bar is it if they need a full time cop detail inside there every Thursday-Friday-Saturday night.

I used to go there all the time.  I loved it, but for some reason I stopped.

I went recently and was shocked at how gross the carpets were. (Call Gary's Steamway 508 587-3562)  Seriously - it is nasty

    Service was sssllllooooowwwww

Food was good.  Prices were decent.

I would love to start going there again but can't get past the dirt.

They just really need to focus on cleaning (walls, knick knacks, booths, carpet, windows, etc.)

Oh, COLLEGE.  I miss Stonehill, and Owen's.

I've come from very near (and as of late, very far) for something that I consider the one of the best reuben's i've ever eaten.

Come here and play mildly entertaining games in which you will likely lose money, hang with the Brockton locals, and get fat on beer and very toasty, very reubeny reubens.

Come over and over again, come on the weekend, come after class, before class, or for a bachelor or birthday party.

I can't say much regarding the other menu items -- because as long as i've been coming here, its been reubens and reubens only.  Rest assured, other food does exist in some form.

Service is whatever, as long as they bring me my reubens and keep the beer flowing.

Hang with a biker, come with friends, eat a reuben.

I don't care how you get there, who you go with, or what time it is.

    Eat a reuben.

Owen O'Leary's has gone down hill over the past few years.  They used to have a great manager who made sure everything was great, probably atleast 6 years since he's been gone.  Now the food is OK.  I used to go atleast once a week, now average once every 3 months or so.

Hasn't changed in 15 years. Good service decent food but cleanliness is lacking. Broken glass on the floor of the dining room at 11am for brunch which leaves me to believe it's from the night before and didn't clean properly.

First of all I usually don't write reviews, but after last night I felt the need to share with people my experience. Tardy service, followed up by a concrete prime rib, only to be followed with the most annoying co2 noise every 5 mins.. I know it's a Irish pub but did you really have to write my order on a napkin? Lol and finally, is it just me or are the cougars at the end of the bar looking worse and worse as each beer goes down... Shouldn't it be the other way around...

Good Food, Cheap drinks not much more to ask for.

I've only been early evening, and it usually consist of a lot of older people who have probably been going there for years, so it can have that weird geriatric smell. I'm willing to over looks that since I've never been disappointed by the food, Its you standard bar fair. Chili is delicious, love the country chicken and white pizza.

Don't think of this place as a restaurant with booze, or you'll be disappointed. Think of it as a dive bar with good food. Get the pitcher-and-pizza special ($7 pitcher and $1 pizza, if memory serves) and be happy. The rest of the menu is good, too; it just costs a bit more than a buck is all. The service is very friendly and prompt. The atmosphere is varied; it fills up with townies during the week and Stonehill College co-eds on the weekends. If you like trivia on Wednesday night or beer pong on Thursday night, all the better.

I would often drive by this place and on their sign for awhile it said, "Let us be your hidden treasure!" I kind of wish it had stayed hidden.

The food isn't completely awful but it surely wasn't worth the 40 dollars we spent. We tried the boneless buffalo chicken appetizer, that was okay. The blue cheese dressing was strange and didn't taste like blue cheese at all. My fiance got a sesame chicken dish that was decent but almost too sweet.

I ordered a pot pie and got a strange order of what seemed like the insides of a chicken pie (minus the goodness, the gravy had the strangest taste and wasn't thick or creamy) with a strange piece of crust (felt like a plain pastry) sitting on the side/top.

The service was fine, they gave us plenty of napkins and the bread was also pretty tasty.

I don't think we'll be going back anytime soon, though.

This place has been consistently decent for the past 15 or so years I have been going there. They have a great mussel appetizer as well as a decent selection of healthy items that include nutritional information. The inside could definitely use some updating, but the service is usually very friendly and fast.

Stonehill bar. go Monday for the cheap wings/pizza/pitcher special. I think the pizza tastes bad but it's edible when its a $1 and you're drunk anyways.

but please ownens, for the love of god, hire/schedule more than 1-2 servers on Monday nights so the poor lady that we always have isn't stressed to the moon and I don't have to wait forever for a pitcher refill.

Ate there last night (see attached pic of their Greek pizza). We were very satifised with our meals and the service was excellent. The Greek pizza was the best I've ever had- it had the perfect amount of mozzarella cheese (I hate when there's too much) and I loved the abundance of veggies on it. Most of all I loved the egglant- it's a nice touch. My fiance got the "no name" panini and also was happy with his choice.

Despite being in the bar area, our waitress was very friendly and attentive- checking in with us regularly.

We had house brews- Irish Red, and IPA. Both were very good.

    We'll be back for sure!

    It tastes like college!

I don't know whats up with all the haters below.  Nobody goes to Owen's for a gourmet meal.  Its pub grub.  Simple, un-sophisticated, fried and fabulous.

I still dream about the wings. AND THAT BLUE CHEESE!

With cheap drinks, cheap bar food, and literally no dress code (HELLO sweat pants at the bar!) can you really go wrong?

I, like Jess T., am a Stonehill grad.  You've gotta love Owen's!  It's getting 5 stars for the Monday  night specials on pizza and wings and because I have some great memories from there!  Dollar pizzas and quarter wings are a great way to start off a school week, especially when you've got Tuesdays off like I did.  There was always room in the bar for the large group of us and the waitstaff was great and very helpful (they even gave us plain wings instead of buffalo wings for our anti-buffalo-sauce companions).

We always had a good time no matter when we've gone and we make a trip every time there's a reunion.  It was a quick ride from campus, also, which was a bonus.  Trekking into Boston for weekday wings and pizza specials definitely wasn't happening.  There's a ton of parking in the lot and it's in a safe area of Brockton.

You're not going to get 5-star meals or upscale dishes, but for a pub that's frequented by college students (since it's all we could afford) it's pretty damn good.

Ahhhh Owen's. Memories. Now as a Stonehill alum, it would be a crime not to praise the hell out of this place as it spurned many memories, 21st birthdays at midnight, and shenanigans. I've been there post college and it still has the same charm and allure it always did.

Look...this place isn't fancy....but come on...where else will you get a sizeable pizza for $1 and 25 cent wings on a Monday night....in Brockton....that you will be safe coming and going to.  Nowhere else. Owen's is the perfect Monday night football destination as there are plenty of TV's and a large projection screen for your viewing pleasure.

Even 7 years post Stonehill, each time we go back, the 2 things we all order (aside from pitchers of beer) are the wings and the pizza. Even at non-Monday night prices, the food is good, cheap, and matches perfectly with the Irish/sports bar motif. I'm sure I've tried other things, but alas, with all that cheap beer running through my system, it's no wonder I don't remember.

Later in my college years, and post college, Owen's jumped on the handheld bar trivia machine bandwagon. Great move.

So, if you can handle dealing with drunk college kids spending their hard earned work study money on beers and cheap food, I recommend Monday nights as they have the best specials around. If not, I would still recommend this place to watch any sporting event, talk sports with strangers and enjoy cheap eats and cold beer.

Decent beer selection and friendly service.
I used to come here a lot with friends from work in the late afternoon. This is not outstanding food, but we stick to appetizers and sides - wings, onion blossom, baskets of fries - and we were never disappointed with the portion size/price.

Avoid the nachos, though. Those were some limp chips.

I am so surprised to see such low ratings below! I think Owen's is great. My co-workers and I come here often after work and it has always been really good. We actually even get takeout from Owen's every now and then for lunch. I really enjoy their Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad, their White Pizza, and their Buffalo Chicken Fingers. Their Calamari is simply great. Also, I have always found the staff to be very accommodating and extremely friendly!

Food is very spotty here. I have had decent meals, but I've also had terrible meals. Most recently, a friend of mine ordered the Reuben. It totally fell apart when she tried to eat it. We complained to the waitress, suggesting it might be too soggy. She seemed extremely annoyed that we lodged a complaint. Then she brought back a better sandwich. No apologies, nothing. When we told her it might have been nice for her to remove the meal from the bill (there were two others who purchased meals and drinks) she said, "we don't do that here" She was downright rude, and refused to even get a manager because "that's not what we do here"  We purposely left her only a ten percent tip, and she literally THREW the change back at us when she realized. I have never, ever had such atrocious service in my life. Having worked in the service industry for many years, I am a generous tipper, normally. So, while I might give Owen O'leary's 2-3 stars for the food, the service brings it back down to one star. On the positive, they mix a very good drink, and the bartenders are excellent.

The food here is average.  Nights at this bar seem like a high school reunion, but good nonetheless.  On the flip side, this is probably the only safe bar in Brockton to go if you want local.
