OK, so we head over for a couple of take and bakes and the kid at the counter told us that the Lite Crust is best cooked by taking the pie off the provided baking tray for the last 2 minutes and to put on the lowest rack in the oven. Â One word...Burnt! Â Not the best suggestion. Â We have had the Lite Crust several times and it comes out fine just the way you are directed to do. Â Now we have to go back and try again!
Review Source:This is the best pizza and it's so easy! Â They make the pizza right in front of you...any way you want it. Â Then take it home and bake it in your oven. Â It smells so good when it bakes. Â The Chicken Bacon Artichoke pizza on the delite crust is soooo yummy! Â Best cookie dough too. Â I've been there a number of times, It's always been great.
Review Source:It is rare that I give a dining establishment 5 stars - there's always something that pisses me off. Â Not at Papa Murphy's! Â They just opened a San Clemente location, and I tried it the other night. Â
In case you're not familiar, they sell uncooked pizzas, which you pick up, take home, bake for 12 minutes, then eat. Â They have several excellent signature pizzas, or you can "build your own". Â I walked out with two larges - one pepperoni, one "cowboy" (pepperoni, black olives, mushrooms, italian sausage) - for $20.98. Â
They always have a special or two - I got the large pepperoni for $7.99!
I can't get one large pizza delivered to my house for less than $20. Â So what if I have to cook it - it's that much hotter and fresher. Â
The crust is great - not too thick and doughy, not too thin and crackery. Â Great sauce - lots of oregano. Â All-around great pizza. Â They prepare them in front of you, so you don't have to wonder what the moron is doing (picking, scratching, etc.) back in the kitchen; he's right there!
I can't wait to try the stuffed pizzas...
Give it a shot. Â You'll not find a better-tasting pizza at any delivery place.
