I had relatively high expectations but I guess I should have read these reviews first. This was the biggest waste of money. The mazes were long but very little haunted action. Lots and of walking down long hallways to finally come upon a room that just had some Halloween decorations. When there were actors, they seemed rather unenthusiastic. The best part of the whole thing was the little old lady showing the way back to the main entrance. She was funny. If they do this again next year, no way in hell I'm going again unless reviews indicate a major improvement.
Review Source:Took a lady to this and she was scared...I however was not. Â I wasn't expecting this to be as good as Universal. Â Buuuut, for $24 (plus service charges), I wanted a little more for my money. Â OK, a LOT more. Â Hardly any set decor at all. Â Waaaay too well lit. Â Like others have said, the Granny one was the only passable maze. Â Not even good. Â Strictly D+ territory. Â The rest were big fat F's.
Review Source:I came here last night (Sunday). Woohoo! Hardly any people. Now I'm not sure if they just didn't like the prices or maybe the whole operation had run it's course because it was already close to Halloween. But I'm glad we didn't have to wait. Okay, thank you to Goldstar for only paying $16 because I feel like $30 (regular price) would not have been worth it. There are 3 mazes and scare zones. I do love a good scare...it makes me feel like the heart is still good. LOL
Let me break it down for you:
THE INFIRMARY: Out of all the mazes, I think this one is the longest. I did get a good scare several times but there are some parts that were a little cheesy like the psych ward which just had a bunch of people walking around and trying to talk to you like they were crazy. LOL
THE CLOWNS: This one is the shortest. Not as bad as I thought it was going to be because I hate clowns. There was a part of the maze where we entered a room and we couldn't find the opening in the wall and the clowns weren't really trying to scare us but laugh at us while we tried to find a way out. It was weird! I wasn't scared at all. :(
GRAMMY'S HOUSE: I really liked this one. You can tell that they put a lot more work into this one. There are more props and special effects here than in the other mazes. The actors here really did scare me good. YOU BASTARDS! LOL :) Some of the scares came from the actors as wells as from the props popping out at you. And in here you get to take a souvenir picture. LOL :) There are some cheesy parts in here too but I think this one was the best one out of all of them,
Scare Zones: Once you are done with each maze you have to walk all the way around to the front to get to the entrance of each maze. Since essentially you are passing by the entrances for the actors, they will occasionally pop out to scare you. They caught me a couple of times when I wasn't paying attention. LOL It is kinda creepy that they really do have a an old lady (Grammy) saying scary things to you as you walk by. She told me she wanted to put me on a spit and eat me. LOL
Once you get your wrist band to the place, then you have unlimited access to all the mazes and in-out privileges. We got there a little after 9:30pm and we were done a little after 10:30pm (going through everything once) with us having to wait in line at the clown maze for like 10 mins. It's nice that they send you in small groups which gives the actors time to scare us. I loved that touch! I even got to do the infirmary and grammy's house twice. I did buy the souvenir pics because they were just so much fun. Yup, it says sucker on my forehead! But me and my friends split it. LOL
They did offer Zengo as an option to dine there with our wrist bands for Happy Hour prices, but when we got there around 11:15pm they were already closed. I wish we would've checked to see when they closed. Oh, well! Next time.
Since this was their first year, maybe next year will be better. But I'm still not paying the $30! That's the cheap-ass in me. Until next year boos and ghouls...LOL (evil laugh)
