I rarely give out one stars. This place deserved in. Your food is your standard American diner affair - breakfast, sandwiches, soups, and maybe some steak dishes. The food at most Patty's I have visited has been good. This one was a little disappointing.

When going into a diner, expect greasy foods. This was exceptionally greasy. My stomach acted up ALL day and night because of how much grease was in a plate of eggs.

The kicker and the reason why this places a one star is my husband's dish. He ordered a $9 corned beef hash breakfast. He found a BONE in his dish. We were not upset. Simple mistake especially if they make their own hash. We decided to tell the woman who looks like she was the owner.

We got a lecture (almost) of why they don't make it in house anymore and why it is from a can. She went on and on explaining why it was a waste of her time and money to make corned beef when she doesn't give much on a plate to begin with. She explained to us her line cooks don't bother checking for these things, that they heat meat up in the microwave and dump it onto the plate. She then forced a punch card on us and told us to come back.

I know she has good intentions and time's are tough. Running a restaurant is not an easy business, but at least apologize for your customers who find bones and tendons in their plate. We will not be returning to this location. If we wanted corn beef hash from a can, we would have gone to the Safeway four miles north and gotten one ourselves. Would have been cheaper and bone free without an attitude.

Because we're huge fans of the original Lynnwood Patty's Eggnest, we assumed that other locations would be on par with their service and quality standards...NOPE...

The Chuckwagon location is reminiscent of its former "Chuckwagon" atmosphere: smoky, dingy, and ragged.  While it appears there has been some painting, and possibly carpeting was replaced at some point, we were directed to the "backroom", where I immediately got a whiff of musty, dusty and PallMall...after we were seated, my husband noticed the cardboard coaster under his overturned coffee cup was splattered and full of crumbs.  He quickly removed it and found a clean coffee cup and coaster.  The table still had more remanents of prior customers (sticky syrup drippings, crumbs).
The young hostess was cordial, and immediately brought us water and returned fairly quickly w/ coffee.  Waiting on the waitress was another matter.  While two other waitresses managed to make several rounds to the 4 tables occupied, it wasn't until the hostess was seating another couple, and stopped to refill our coffee, that she noticed our menus still on the table.  She was quick to find the waitress, at the counter and obviously spoke w/ her, as our waitress was soon back to take our orders.  Had we actually given it another thought, we might have walked out.  I decided to try the belgian waffle w/ a side of ham.  My husband chose the ham and eggs.  Our orders did come quickly, thank goodness.  The waffle was decent, though it really tasted just like a pancake, and I've always been told waffle batter is prepared differently from pancake batter.  I immediately noticed that the waffle was only lukewarm, since the butter didn't melt.  The butter cup I was given on the side appeared old.  It was rather greasy, maybe they just fill a ton of them early and leave them...but either way, it was rather flavorless.  I used both syrup (from the sticky pitcher on the table) and the wonderful freezer jam Patty's has always offered.  The ham had a lot of gristle and because it is obviously heated on the flattop, had bits of potato and black "stuff" stuck to it...not much flavor either and that was also my husband's complaint about the ham.  He did say his over easy eggs were prepared perfectly, the sourdough bread was delicious, but the hash browns could have used a few more minutes on the grill...they didn't have much crispness.  During the course of our meal, the young hostess and another waitress actually managed to refill our coffee cups...the only time we saw OUR waitress was to take our order, bring our order and drop off the check.  I felt like I should have handed the hostess the tip directly, she did a great job of clearing tables, seating guests and ensuring coffee was always full for all patrons in our area.  Needless to say, we were less than impressed w/ this location.  To top it off, as we were leaving, my husband stepped on a fork that had been dropped...in the busiest part of the restaurant, but none of the staff seemed to notice it.  While we have enjoyed the other Patty's location for years, I really doubt we'll be back to this one.

I really liked all the breakfast choices here and they had amazing biscuits! This place is close to my friend's house where I was staying and she likes to come here on the weekends for a cozy breakfast. It certainly is no fancy brunch spot, just a good ol' diner. Big portions and good service. Definitely would come back!

Make sure you have cash on you! They are cash only, and although they have an ATM it would be good to not spend an extra few bucks just to get the $.

Pretty good. I am gonna go for a 3.5 here. I liked it but the food was so rich and heavy it made me sleep most of the afternoon. I had the Elvis - deep fried French toast with peanut butter and banana and hubby had a waffle - both were smothered in homemade whipped cream. They were both very tasty but coma inducing. Service was great. Our waitress was a sweetie and the hostess had a great sense of humor. I think we will give it another go with some lighter fare. We do still have a favorite breakfast place and although this is good, I don't think we will be naming a new fave anytime soon.

To be fair, we did not eat breakfast here, so my rating could change should I try the meal category this diner supposedly won awards for.

And rather than choose breakfast, I went for a diner staple: grilled cheese with fries. I had thought of potentially starting my "eating healthier" New Year's resolution earlier and going for a side salad instead, but fries sounded way better. Unfortunately, the fries are what tanked this meal for me. They get points for having the skin-on, but they tasted as though they had been previously cooked, frozen, and then cooked again. The centers were tough and weird. I wish I had more descriptive adjectives, but that's what they were: touch and weird.

The grilled cheese sandwich, itself, was what it should be: thick bread, lots of American cheese, buttery and the perfect color brown on the outside. One surprise was the bread tasted as though it had been grilled with a garlic-butter. Whether this was an accident due to whatever else had been cooked on the grill or intentional and they used a garlic-flavored butter substance to grill the sandwich is unclear, but the subtle garlic-flavor was nice.

I would give this place a second chance to try breakfast, but it is unfortunate this diner failed to something as simple as fries well, so I'm still a little wary.

    GREAT SERVICE!

I realize that I am spoiled by organic and healthy food provided at my current in Berkeley, CA. I just haven't found a city that compares, but Seattle is getting there. I ordered the Chicken Omelette and the taste was decent; watered down, but ok. Not surprising given that MOST of the specialty items are premade. One good thing about the food is the large portions. I was hungry and I still couldn't manage to finish it. So in that way, you'll get the portion you paid for. Just whatever you do, DO NOT ORDER THE SAUSAGE LINKS! They taste undercooked, tasteless, and like pureed baby food held together by a burnt skin. YIKES! That'll make you sick. 2 stars on food.

I appreciated the service. They refilled my coffee like 10 times. I had to just leave my coffee filled so they wouldn't come back. I've never experienced that before, but I sort of like it. It's funny that just after you say, "No" they turn away like they get rejected. It's like before I finish my word, they leave midway. Try it. Say "nuh" before you finish the "o" and see what happens. Mind readers? Nuh sure.

Overall, I will come back again if I can't think of other places and especially if I meet with large groups. For the price and the portion, it's not too bad. My most favorite aspect about Patty's is the warm decor and fireplace. I feel like I'm in a lodge at Steven's.

Walked in and sat down... and sat and sat. Saw another party come in and get seated with coffee and waters right away. And so we sat and waited some more... saw that same party that came in after us get their orders taken before we even got our waters. And still we sat and waited. So we were tired of that BS and got up at walked out.

To be honest this review is just for the shitty service and lack of customer appreciation. I was excited to try this place to because the food looked really legit. But if you have 3 waitresses and the place is not even packed,  can't we get a Hello and I'll be right there to take your order?

Lost a customer in me. I just don't have time for that.

If you're looking for a delicious hole-in-the-wall diner in the Pacific Northwest, meet Patty's Eggnest @ Chuckwagon Inn.

I totally found this place on Yelp! I was staying in the Everett area for an interview, and I needed some tasty brunch-esque places. I had to narrow my search by what was "Open Now" (since I woke up so late), and I'm so glad I came across this place. Talk about greasy spoon central! Be still my half-beating, myocardial infarction heart!

I went with the seasons pumpkin pancakes with bacon, and I substituted country potatoes instead of eggs. Holy shizz! These pancakes were MASSIVE and came with a huge, Mongo-sized dollop of their signature Devonshire creme. *DROOL-O-RAMA* The pancakes were HEAVENLY. Just the right amount of pumpkin taste so as to not be overly sweet. And soft!!! The bacon was PERFECT. Thick-sliced, salty goodness not too fatty or overcooked. I could have probably eaten 10 more slices if my stomach would have allowed it. The potatoes were good, too, although probably my least favorite part of the meal. They weren't bad...just run-of-the-mill hashbrown potatoes.

The waitresses here are super sweet and attentive. I sat at a huge booth by myself (in the middle of the day), and they were on top of refilling my coffee and making sure that I was happy. It seemed like a lot of locals and regulars come here, which is a nice feeling.

Although there's not much to do/see in the Everett area, at least you know you can find some tastycakes if you happen to find yourself there. I highly recommend Patty's!

Went there this morning, and waited to be seated, I didn't know you seat yourself. I had the Biscuits and Gravy with bacon and Sausage, eggs. The Bacon was pretty thick and the biscuits definitely weren't pillsbury. It was a decent size for $8.95, so much so I needed a carton to take the rest home. The staff was friendly and the service was excellent.my bill was $12.95 and I left them $25.00 told them to keep the change...

I had the feta omelet with mushrooms and Jason had Swedish pancakes. My food arrived and it looked slimy like it wasn't fully cooked, but taste good. There was so much food I didn't touch my hash browns. When Jason's arrived his three thin pancakes had two huge mounds of white stuff on it. Jason was shocked and asked me what it was, laughing I said it had to be whip cream. Still he didn't want it there so, I walked up to the lady and asked for a bowl to take the whip cream off. She said, "that's not whip cream, it's butter". Boy did Jason and I have a laugh. Even after he took the giant clumps off his skinny little pancakes, they were actually swimming in butter. No joke. So, if you love butter, have their Swedish pancakes. He did say it tasted good, plus the value is decent.

We've become "regulars" at our local little Patty's aka "The Chuck" on Sundays.  I have enjoyed many of their specials and my boyfriend loves the buffet - the bacon is thick and the biscuits are great with the freezer jam on the tables (so I've heard).

One weekend they had the Joe's Italian Benedict and I've not seen it since.  I inquired and the chef was kind enough to make it for me :)  It's hardy for sure and I usually am sent out the door with most of it in a doggy bag.  Broiled up it's just like having it at The Chuck!

Have to admit, we usually enjoy a Bloody Mary or two on Sunday's are deeeeelightful and priced nice!

Oh! They also have a punch card that we just recently were turned on to - a punch for each breakfast!  Full card will give you $5 off your meal.

I know there are a few other breakfast joints around, but give The Chuck a try and maybe we can all have a Mary (or two) together!

PS - Yes Yelp, I think the ambience at The Chuck can be romantic :)

Finally gave a try to this Patty's Eggnest at Chuckwagon Inn. Honestly we like the ambience and food at the Mukilteo location. No wait when we walked in around 11 yesterday. Waitress was very nice and friendly and had a sense of humor. This Patty will need a little update on the interior to give it a little modern and clean feel. Had the Country Fried steak with eggs and hash brown and toast. The fried steak was good with the gravy. The edge of the fried steak was still crunchy towards the end of the meal. Hashbrown was crispy. Didn't like the toast as it wasn't crispy. Hubby got the Corned Beef Hash with eggs, hash and English muffin. That was good corned beef hash was good.

Mukitleo location: need to wait for food longer than Chuckwagon location. Nicer and newer interior. Food might be slightly better.

Chuckwagon location: older interior but with funny phrases on wall deco. Feels like a typical diner. Food was good at our first visit of this location. Friendly and smarter with sense of humor waitress (at least the one we had), can't say for the rest with only one visit.

Short Story: Go here if you want quantity, but don't expect quality...

    Long story:
So we walk in the door, no welcome just "find a seat anywhere" Lady comes over with menus, looks pretty good. I order the chicken fried steak and eggs with wheat toast and my husband orders the special scramble. He also gets a large orange juice. The orange juice comes out and it is a 12 oz glass. At all the other Patty's we have been to the large orange juice is 20oz. We were going to say something but no one came out to our table until the food was delivered which was very quickly dropped off and then she left. My husband says "I guess I'll just take it as a lesson learned" since he didn't want to be confrontational. Half way through drinking the orange juice we see a brown chunk in it. At that point I decided to say something and she says "oh thats a seed" no I'm sorry, can I get you fresh glass, since we obviously had a problem with it.

The food arrives and is totally bland. Even his scramble which has sausage, bacon, ham, green peppers and onions is bland, which I'm not sure how that is possible. I do have to say my chicken fried steak was pretty good, but the hashbrowns were just potatoes with no seasoning.

Then the bill comes. That 12 oz orange juice is $3.95!!! The coffee which is usually $1.25 or so at most breakfast places is $2.00! Total for our whole meal is $29!! Just all seemed a little much, but I guess you are paying for quantity not quality.

As we are leaving the waitress says, "Happy 4th" so I say you too and she says "I'll try..."  Little odd/negative to me...

I'm a big fan of Patty's in Lynnwood and Mill Creek. We go there pretty often actually.

This was my first time at this particular Patty's and it's very different. Not as clean as the other ones, the menu's are different, and it definitely draws a different crowd too than the other places.

The food was still good there, but the atmosphere and the old rundown feel ruined it for me. I'll keep going to the other ones.

First I should say my parents ate there on the same day and had a good meal.

We went for a late breakfast. It was not good. we all had VERY over cooked omlettes. If we were not so hungry, I would have sent mine back.

The eggnest can't cook eggs. I'll not be back.
(well, I might try the bar. looks really divey)

They have the BEST (real) turkey san around!  However, the FROZEN (gag) french fries have got to go!  They make such a big deal about home style cooking, this place just begs for 'real' fries, despite the time consuming hassle of making them!  Good portions; casual: improved on since it was the really tired Chuck Wagon. The waitress charged us $1 because we asked for a 2nd plate, without telling us first.  Not a big deal, but surprises on the bill are not customer friendly.  Also, another waitress made a big deal about the bum who left her a huge handful of change hidden under a few dollar bills on the table.  Yes, it was really tacky of him, but it was tacky of her to criticize him loudly after he left.  Rant to the cook in the back or wait til your break; we don't want to share your anger while we are enjoying our meal.

I earlier said they have "to go orders."  After this morning, I give them a 2 Star for today's service - 10;30 a.m. we called in a to go order: 2 cold sans to go (with hash browns).  She took the phone order, but called back in less than a minute:  "Can't do your sans.  We're only doing breakfast now."  I guess the cook couldn't put together 2 cold sans before 11:00 (isn't that when lunch technically starts?).  Irk.  I will go back for their turkey sans and to try the Challah French toast, tho.

I come in when my church has a mens breakfast.  The first time I ate there I was very impressed.  Very genreous portuions, in better words enough food fill you up and take some home. Really great waitress Danica useally waits on us, always positive and smiling, and always gives us excellent service.  She will be missed for sure, but her replacement will be just as great since she is learning from her.  I highly reccomend this place for breakfast.

Elvis French toast.  Two pieces of french toast with sweet cream and peanut butter between, panko crusted, and topped with banana and whipped cream.  I am willing to drive to Everett just to eat this, it is that amazing.

However, the coffee service was abominable.  If a waitress walks by a table six times with the coffee pot in hand, and fails to notice that the coffee cups are empty, then that is enough for me to deduct two stars.

We have eaten here a handful of times, but won't again.  Not after our last experience.  The food is good, the service is usually pretty good, but the clientele is what ruins it.  It's pretty much anything goes.

This restaurant is a hangout for the owners or manager's friends and/or family.  I have seen kids behind the counter doing things that require a food handler's permit.  I have seen some of the most obnoxious people there, people who are obviously acquaintances of some kind of the management.  People you wouldn't want to eat on the same block with let alone in the same restaurant.  Children running rampant in the restaurant, adults screaming at the top of their lungs, and nobody says a word to them.  Instead, they treat them like special guests and encourage not only the bad behavior but ensure they will be frequent repeat customers.

There is also an odor in the restaurant.  A very "not pleasant" odor.  You can get past that if you sit there long enough before your food comes.  You start to not notice it.  But if you are unfortunate enough to have some of the unruly guests arrive during your visit don't expect the management to ask them to behave, instead expect to be ignored in favor of them.

With all of the 4 and 5 star restaurants we have in Everett, I can't imagine any reason why I'd want to return here.

First, let me say that I think this is the right Patty's Eggnest.
We stopped here on the way to Vancouver on the basis of a passing recommendation while on the road. Enormous portions. I had a 4 egg omelette that filled and fueled me until the late evening. Somehow I managed to clear my plate, although I felt like a glutton for doing so. Apparently it's part of a chain, although it has a definite mom&pop down-home/midwestern familiarity.

The Big Chicken Fried Steak is really a breakfast of champions. A lot of good food.

The Eggs Benedict are among my favorites too, and I really like their thick-cut side of bacon.

One thing that annoys me a bit, is that even though the food is always served very quickly, it's never really piping hot.  Not cold by any means, but a tad warmer would be nice.

I love Patty's Eggnest.  I've been to both the Everett and Lynnwood (Mill Creek) locations, and while the food is pretty much the same at both, I prefer the atmosphere and service at the Everett location.  Lynnwood's has a more modern, updated feel, while the Everett location looks rather sketch from the outside (and the former is larger).  However, the Everett location feels homier, and even if old is clean and well kept.  Plus the service was waaaay nicer and friendlier (though that could have been our particular server).

My bf got the greek omelette, which, despite being a GIANT platter of food, he devoured in minutes -- it was that good.  There were so many hash browns he couldn't eat them all.  It came with toast as well.

I got my usual, the chicken fried steak, which comes with 3 eggs, hash browns, and toast.  The cfs is drenched in country sausage gravy.  The whole thing is simply delicious.  Healthy?  Uh, no.  I'm not writing for a health magazine and it's not the sort of thing I would have every day.  This too was a giant plate of food.

Tip: If you have a Passport, you can get a free breakfast entree with the purchase of one, so a really nice, filling, and satisfying breakfast for two can be had for $11 or less (plus tax/tip).  Even if you don't, they have a great deal going on right now -- a 6oz sirloin steak with 3 eggs, hash browns, and toast for $5.95 (!!!).  If we hadn't been doing bogo I SO would have gotten that.

We go to Patty's pretty regularly....on Saturdays. On Sunday there is a manager / lead waitress / shrew on duty. She thinks nothing of yelling across the room at other waitpersons and it really is distracting. She is the type of blousy blond that looks like she just rolled out of bed and would prefer to still be there. For the life of me I can NOT imagine how she even works there, let alone has come kind of managment position. It is really a shame because all of the rest of the staff are just great.  They keep your coffee cup and water glass full, service is fast and the food is fresh and always good. Just don't go on a Sunday when Miss Thang is in charge.

My regular breakfast spot was closed for renovation, so Country and I took a chance and came to The Chuckwagon/Patty's for a late breakfast.

The interior is divey-diner and smells old and musty. The floors aren't the cleanest I've seen but it was fine. I ordered a Gyros and Eggs - Gyro meat, tomatoes, onions, and feta scramble with hashies and toast, and the bf had the Lumberjack- a massive plate full of hash brown, peppers, onions, mushies, sausage, ham bacon, cheese and eggs- a real man's breakfast.

Portions were huge, and the food was definitely pretty fresh. I would call it a step up from Denny's for sure. You definitely get your money's worth eating breakfast here.

The waitress we had was pretty indifferent towards us, but the lady that cashed us out was sweet as pie. I would recommend them for breakfast over a chain establishment any day, and they have an extensive menu. Basic breakfast with lots of choices for a good price in a no fuss-atmosphere. The food tasted good, but they might think of replacing their carpets, they still have that set-in smoke quality from the days that restaurants used to be smoke-friendly.

I am surprised at the bad reviews because my three times I have eaten here the food was great. They serve huge plates for breakfast and the meats were very tasty. The bacon was worth a trip back by itself. Long thick slices of smoked bacon, not the OMG it looks like my bacon got shrinkage most places serve. The Fish n Chips I ate here was awesome with some great tartar sauce and crispy skinny fries. I know I am going back when ever I am in the neighborhood.

I just hopped back in there last week, after not going since childhood.  It hasn't changed at all.  In fact I recognized atleast one of the waitresses from close to 15 years ago or so.  Sure some of the waitresses are former crack heads so that effects your service a bit, but the food is delicious.  Me and my mom didn't get our bloody mary's and when we went to pay the other waitress asked the our waitress why she didn't bring them, and totally made fun of her for being stupid...it was priceless.  It's all good.

My husband and I loved going there for a while. It was our favorite dive. Then one sunday morning we complained about our eggs being super runny and our waitress flipped out. She accused us of  "trying to get our meal for free" and rolled her eyes at us. I was shocked. I have NEVER been treated like that at any establishment no matter how smutty the place was (and I know smutty). Yeah, needless to say I will NEVER go back there again.
