This is always a great place to hang out, listen to some live music, and drink some beers.  Their food is good, the beers are cheap, their waitresses are nice, and the bartenders are great.  You really can't go wrong with this place.  They book some pretty good random bands and I've enjoyed with every time I come here.  There's no cover.  There's TV's everywhere.  This is always a good place to come if your friends cannot decide what to do.

I wouldn't go there for the food. In fact, the bar tender steered me away from certain types of items on the menu saying that I would be wasting my money. I liked the honesty.

However, the beer was really cheap and the staff very friendly.

The atmosphere was "super dank bro." Lots of merry danksters noodle dancing to a Grateful Dead cover band. Pretty funny. It's nice to revisit 1993 now and again.

I would go back to Penuche's, but I would have to be really stoned.

Stopped in for a beer on a Monday afternoon, we were the only two people in there.  Place is kinda sketchy and I'd classify it as a dive.  Menu was scary, we didn't order food.  Draft beer selection is decent but not spectacular, definitely won't return.  Single star is only because
they played one of my favorite Springsteen songs while I drank my beer as fast as I could so I could get out ASAP.

They had a live band, cheap drinks, and a nice bar staff that got me drinks without also giving an attitude.  The crowd was wildly varied as far as age, etc. went, and although their dance floor seemed cool it was empty the entire time.

I've never tried the food so I can't comment.  My drinks were all excellent and priced great, and I liked that there was plenty of seating even when the place filled up.  I would return for another night out, definitely.

    Not bad.

It's got a pool table, surprisingly good food, and a decent selection of beers.  Crummy bands play here sometimes, or not.  I've been here for lunch a few times and drank here as well.   It's ok.  We do usually end up here for some reason or another, so it MUST have some kinda draw to it, right?

i like this place. i liked it more before i had crappy service.

it took 45 minutes to get the tab one night, and by that time i had sobered up and missed meeting up with friends at the brew on a slow thursday night. there was no reason for the waitress to be so moronic. she got no tip.

ummmm...$3 beers everyday. best place to go after you're done all your vodka drinks and want to laugh at the open mic people.

update 2010: since the new owner/manager arrived this fall prices have gone up and service has gone down. even trivia moved to strange brew! sad, because they have the best doorman in town--love you bubbah!

Penuche's has apparently expanded out of Concord and moved into Laconia, Manchester, Nashua and Keene. All the larger towns in NH.
In Manchester they have joined the boom of Irish pubs in the area, but they missed the mark.

They messed up the beer and drink orders of just about everyone in my group... Though they have a dance floor foosball, and big buck hunter video games as well as golden tee, the place just feels blah. No real charm or character.

UPDATE: The menu selection here has been reduced considerably to appetizers, salads, and sandwiches. No more pasta dishes! The Fried Pickles are still on the menu, but however they got creative & cheap and sliced the typical pickle spears up the middle in half. Penuche's Grill is still a pretty good place to grab a beer. play pool, and watch sports. They are now open at 11AM daily for lunch.

ORIGINAL 4 STAR REVIEW: Ahh yes!! My buddy and I occasionally stop here after work to unwind over some drinks and good food. Penuche's (formerly the New Cheese Grill) has a typical bar atmosphere with table & booth seating (self seating), red pool table, foosball table, TVs, and live entertainment on some nights. FUN, FUN, FUN!!!

Sometimes, we sit outside along the sidewalk patio. The good pub menu includes appetizers, soups & salads, sandwiches, burgers (veggie too!), steaks, chicken, seafood, pasta dishes, kids menu, and desserts.

The FRIED PICKLES ($5-five dill pickle spears, corn meal breaded, deep fried, & served with cool horseradish sauce) are sooo good and very clean that we end up getting two orders. Be careful, the pickles come out very hot.

The half-pound sirloin burgers served with fries & pickle are pretty good. I enjoy the Chicken Parmesan ($11-very hearty sauce over pasta) and the Shrimp Scampi ($13-lots of lemon butter & garlic), both served with garlic bread. Good sized portions!!

For dessert, the Ultimate Chocolate Cake ($4) is very HUGE and very sweet!! The Tollhouse Brownie Sundae ($4.50) with vanilla ice cream & fudge is very sweet and refreshing. Be careful, on my last visit, the brownie was soft towards the center and very hard along the edges-ouch!!!

The service here is good, attentive, and friendly, offering reorders on beer & cocktails and free refills on Pepsi fountain drinks. The servers here are very knowledgeable and make recommendations regarding the food offerings and the drinks at the bar.

My friends and I like the outside seating a bunch. we're making it our regular nice-day-out spot. Cozy little feel on a quaint quiet street. Catch sports games on their TVs through the window. Attentive service. clean bathroom. Inside looks like any other bar. Food is surprisingly great for a bar joint though. HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Artichoke bruschetta. Heaps of artichoke piled on top. Teriyaki beef strips were unexpectedly tender. good portions. Havent tried other things YET.

Acoustic open mic night on Sundays. local guitarists drop by and have a stage to play on. and $1.75 bud. Specials on other nights too. (Leinenkugel on tap... just in case you were wondering. haha)

SO. in conclusion.. my friends and I really like this place so everyone else should give it a chance too. (don't forget to sit outside)
