Pepe's Mexican Restaurant

I've been eating at this specific Pepe's for years.
I've tried all the others in the "Region" and I like this one best.
The food is ALWAYS delicious. I've only had one weird thing with food happen. I ordered a taco salad and ordered ranch dressing with it. They were out and the waitress failed to tell me this until it was served. This was a real idiotic move. I choked it down with french dressing ( yes as gross as it sounds).
The 2 downfalls about here is the bar can get loud and the restaurant area too later in the evening. I wouldn't go after 8 on a weekend, but weeknights tend to be ok.

The wait staff. I've watched several servers come and go. If they are covering the bar you can wait quite a while for something. I just grab the busboy the minute I need something cause you never know when the waitress will be back. The waitress (waiters) don't seem to be the kinda mouse to easily find the cheese, if you know what I mean.

But with all this the food is still worth it. Chips and salsa are yummy. I sometimes wait an extra 5 minutes to order, depending on how long it takes to cook my food so I can pig out on the chips and salsa cause the food is so quick sometimes.

Just don't go during super peak times and you should enjoy it.

Horrible! I have dined in and out and each time the service was terrible. The waitresses DO NOT have a clue. And the kicker is the VERY LAST visit i found a ROACH smashed on the inside edge of my to-go box! The end! DO NOT EAT THERE!

Despite the rowdy bar scene upon entering the building, the dining experience was worth the stop off the interstate.

Plenty of food for your dollar.
Food was fine. Not stellar but fine.

Weird things:
"Sour topping" accompanied our meals...which was not sour cream

2 out of 3 chile rellenos had toothpicks baked inside.  The batter on the Chile rellenos also was a bit thick for our liking.

Pros:
Good salsa, pico and the plate of spicy veggies is excellent

Good service

Margaritas were stiff- they were made with sour mix-but $5.50 provided a real drink.
