Meh....it was pretty good.  Not my favorite BBQ in the area, but it will do in a pinch.

Stopped by to get out of 1-95 traffic for a while on the way back to Chicago. It's easy to get to/find from either of the merrillville exits...

I've got friends who are huge BBQ snobs and I don't know if they'd be into this place, but my whole family loved it. The servings were huge, the prices are great, and everything was super-tasty. We tried tips, pulled pork, and ribs, spicy and mild, and it was all great. The meat's served with a bit of sauce and is great as-is, it came with a cup of sauce that was pretty ketchupy. I didnt think it'd add anything, but I tried a few bites with it and it worked well with the meat, even though ultimately I liked it better without the added sauce. The bun (egg bun?) for the pulled pork was buttered and toasted and just amazing, I don't know how a bun could be so good.

As the other review noted, they were cranking some really good old soul music, TSOP, Stax, Isley Brothers' "Summer Breeze," etc. Really friendly service, the owner chatted with us for a while, oh man, we'll be back.

Good BBQ - Great Sauce.

Only minor complaints, the meat is really tender, but every now and then I run into really tough pieces.

I will definitely keep going back! Reccommended.

I ordered the rip tips, mac n cheese....the bf ordred the pulled pork. We were both very satisfied and stuffed.
