Lydia's Cafe

This place Is disgusting !!! Food poison central . No hygiene here. Look at the floor and behind the counter .wow.where is the board of health ?!?

I am the occasional take out sort of customer.  After shopping for groceries on Friday, I decided to grab some carry out from Central Gyros on Broadway.  However, when I pulled into the parking lot, I was surprised to see that Lydia's Cafe was now there instead.  Although admittedly the business has some kinks to work out, the food was well worth apparent  inefficiency due to just opening this past week.  I ordered their Dolmades.  I am a HUGE fan of stuffed grape leaves, in fact, I have attempted making them at home, have ordered them in many restaurants in the past but never have I tasted anything more delicious.  I also ordered two Lydia's house special 1/2 Greek Chickens with rice for my husband and son.  An amazing deal and in a blink they devoured their food with the only response being how flavorful it was.  I will definitely be back to try BBQ lamb, pastichio, moussaka, spanagopita and (going against my diet) some of their European Cakes and Greek Pastries on their menu.  I truly appreciate the uniqueness of this new restaurant and I highly recommend giving them a try.
