Coming from texas, I have quite an opinion of Mexican food, especially in the Midwest. However, I've been up here several times for work and many of my friends who work locally rave about pepe's. I tried it tonight since their new ownership, and it was very impressive. Â The staff was great. The fajitas are great, steak tacos were quite tasty and I really loved that they had a plethora of salsas to choose from. I will be back in the area in a few weeks, and I will definitely bring some customers with me on the next visit to pepe's.
Review Source:After being neglected for awhile the place is under new management and has really turned around. Â
The food ordered was quick, hot, and tasted excellent! Â All the entrees were around $10 or less. Â Having RC Cola also makes this place special. Â
We used to try to stop here every month or so, but now that's going to be much more frequent!
Steak tacos on flour tortilla are good and the pickled jalapenos come in an adorable little packet..so cute! Calling in for pickup can be a pain. They put you on hold and may or may not come back to you...if so, just hang up and try again until you get pissed off, then go to El Famous Burrito!
Review Source:This restaurant is close to where I work, so I go here for lunch a few times a month. Â The food is what I think of when I think of Mexican food. Â The service is usually pretty efficient (which is important when one only has 45 minutes for lunch). Â Yes, I'm pretty sure that the tortilla chips are from a bag and the salsa is from a jar, but I don't care. Â The food is fresh, flavorful, and hits the spot. Â The price is right, too.
Review Source:This is my daughter's favorite restaurant. I like that they have combo dishes so you can order three different items. The salsa is delicious. And the service is usually pretty good because they don't get too crowded. I would have given this place 5 stars if the bathroom didn't always have a funny smell, kinda like a sewer. I know, GROSS!
