Pier 27 Tavern

Was a decent bar, not very much of a crowd given it was a Friday night w/ a band. Good service, but the place was really a second-hand smokers paradise. Myself being a non-smoker, I was not a fan, and everything on the menu was fried. Not a deal breaker, but could've had some wings, chips and salsa, etc, to lighten the fare.

All in all it was a solid 2-star bar.

Ok let me start by saying that I am giving it 5 stars based on an overall attendance. I have been several times, although my last experience there this past Thursday was upsetting, we had a birthday party up there & was told that we would have ripon to accommodate, but since three lines of communication were blurred & the manager did not know about us coming up there, we were very cramped & in an awkward seating arrangement. But I was then told by the manager that he found our rsvp, & he apologized, but that was all. They did redeemed themselves in my eyes or we were just too drunk to care. But either way they unlike some bars do have good drink specials  one for sure is $3 vegas bombs on thurs. Can't go wrong with that. Thurs is ladies night & they have a dj who plays some gold music  it's a lay back kinda place. They also haver live bands on some nights. Sports on the telly. I would call this place Dallas Cowboys Headquarters. So if your a fan deffinetly come support your team our talk shit..which ever you prefer. & yes there is smoking, for those that do smoke. Just another plus for some &a minus for others. Deal or build your own bar. I will go back, regardless of this incident. We all have our off days. So cheers to you!

chill place to have a beer. free wireless. sports on the TV. great live music when they have it. the bartenders are not aways paying attention to your beverage needs so they lose a star. also they lose one for smoking in the bar (i know it's allowed in galveston county, but i still don't care for it). come check it out. i might be bellied up.
