Came here to eat in an OMGWEARESTARVING find-the-closest-acceptable-restaurant-thats-open-Âon-Sunday fit while we were in town. Â It was super close to the hotel, got good ratings here, and was open. SOLD.
I really dig the patio out back, although most of it is above the back parking lot  versus waterfront like I was expecting.  You can still SEE the water, though, so that's definitely a bonus. I liked that there were umbrellas over all the uncovered tables, although in the afternoon there's not really much you can do to get away from the sun.  It was okay since it was nice and cool out, but in the summer I'm betting it gets pretty brutal out there.  I found the picnic-table seating outside quaint but uncomfortable, and the guy agreed with me (which is rare since he has more padding, ahem).  Also make sure to choose an upwind table if you are sensitive to cigarette smoke, though, because there is smoking allowed out here.  The atmosphere was exactly what I expected for a sports-bar type place, although it was definitely more sports than bar which I appreciate.  Lots of big TVs even out on the patio, which will be a big plus for any diehard sports fans.  A metal bucket recessed into the table for a roll of paper towels, which was kinda cool.  No pretenses and cloth napkins here, y'all.  Come as you are -- which was kinda scrubby because we had been in a car traveling pretty much alllll day long.  I really love a laid-back kind of place, in a very big way.
The food was fine... nothing to write home about, which is (again) exactly what I expect from a sports bar. Â You don't go there for the food, you know? Â I had the seafood sampler. Â The shrimp (four of them, if I remember correctly) was large and butterflied, battered with the big-panko-type batter (what IS that stuff, anyway?) -- tasty, but a little on the greasy side, even for fried food. Â The crab balls were slightly bland but still good. Â The fish was battered in a floury almost tempura style batter which I personally don't like -- it just holds way too much grease and always tastes funky to me. Â The fish inside (which was one huge long piece, by the way) was moist and flaky and delicius, though -- definitey worth the hassle of picking it all out of the batter shell, haha. Â The hush puppies had a great flavor but were ever so slightly doughy inside. French fries tasted a little off, like they're cooked in the same grease as the fish maybe (?), but they were fair enough. Â I appreciated that the meal came with ketchup, cocktail sauce, and tartar sauce without me having to ask. Kiddo ordered a cup of the red beans and rice off the regular menu, which was in actuality a fairly decent sized bowl. Â You could easily get this as a meal, which is exactly what we did. I was a little surprised to see big HUGE chunks of celery and bell pepper (my NOLA roots were screaming "wrong!!" haha). Â
Service was friendly and capable, no complaints there. Â The drinks and food came out quickly (we came at a slow time, though, so I can't speak for service time during peak hours) and we were checked on often. Â All in all, it's a decent place to go if you want to grab a bite to eat in a super laid-back kind of place. Â A step above chain food for sure.
I was here for a NASA event... so it was early and rather low key. Â To me this place is just a regular bar with decent happy hour prices. Â The best part about it is the view of Clear Lake while sitting outside. Â Of course if it's too hot or too cold that might not work out all to well. Â I don't usually hang out in Seabrook but if I happen to be that way, I'd be game to go again.
Review Source:i hate this place. my best friend likes to hang out here. so, i end up here against my will. the drinks are normal priced, food is over priced and lacks in taste as well as quality. the bar tenders are rude. they have their favorites and pay little attention to you if you arent a regular. Â the croud is loud (i know its a bar) and obnoxious. a lot of older men with money and younger jock types that like to yell at the TVs when the game is on. most of the time there are few women in the bar. i avoid it when i can , but if my buddy is paying i cant complain.
