I was introduced to Jackie's about a year or two ago. Â Most of the time, the crawfish is pretty delicious, and they offer mushrooms, potatoes, corn, & sausage a la carte. Â Typically, if I'm having a craving and in the area, this would be one of the places I'd go to. Â
They have crawfish specials on Tuesday and Thursday, but be prepared. Â It is almost always packed. Â You have to search for a table yourself, which might require you to use your vulture-like skills. Â
This past season, there was one time when I was extremely disappointed with the crawfish. Â It tasted like they didn't purge them very well. Â I ate a few and gave up. Â If you knew me, then you would know that means the food was terrible. Â I was very reluctant to go back because I was so dissatisfied, but despite that, I went back with friends. Â The food was back to the standards I remembered. Â
Overall, I would go back.
We used to come here every Thursday night during crawfish season. $2.99 crawfish and 1.50 domestics if you have the "Jackie's" glass. If you plan to go for their crawfish specials, get there before 530 for a seat.
Good spicy crawfish, always a good band playing.
Downside is the slow waitstaff. I guess thats what happens when the place is jam packed. I am going to agree a few of the previous posts. This place was ALOT of fun until it got really popular and now the service and food isnt the best. We only come for the crawfish because the food isnt anything to rave about.
Parking sucks. Its a large dirt lot behind the place but it gets full fast and when it rains, its just a huge mud lot. What is cool is that they have a guy on a golf cart come pick u up from within the lot and take you to the front. Not a bad addition.
I used to love this place but then it got too popular. The staff changed, the crowd changed, the food changed. All for the worse. I like draft beer but they switched to plastic pint glasses! The glasses are not even chilled. Â I keep trying to go back but each time I do I am let down by the quality. Lately the crowd has thinned out and I wonder why.
