Pileggi's Italian Cafe

We found this wonderful gem on Yelp & decided we had to give it a try! We were in town (from Columbus) visiting family for Memorial Day weekend & love supporting small local businesses so we just had to go here! This place certainly surpassed our expectations! We made reservations & they had a table all ready for us when we got there! The owner greeted us with hugs & showed us actual samples of all their specials & they looked amazing! They had a nice selection of Italian wine & beer as well. Needless to say the food was amazing - the red sauce was some if the best I have ever had (and my Grandmother is Italian)! Our waitress was so friendly & very attentive working very hard to satisfy her customers - wish there were more people in this world that loved what they do as much as she seemed to - so refreshing! Don't be turned off by the lack of occupancy in the strip mall area they are in because once you get inside you will feel like you're in your own family's home for dinner! We will definitely be back soon! Highly recommend trying this place!

Food was pretty good, but pricey.  The owners are extremely nice and the service excellent.  You will be warmly greeted at the door by Ferna who will explain the specials.

Pros:  The food was good, everyone, even the kids, liked it.  Huge portions.  The entrees were made from scratch.  The homemade Italian dressing is out of this world good.  The rolls they serve are intended to be dipped into the Italian dressing.  That was odd, but oh so good. The restaurant is nicely decorated and warm and inviting. Service was quick and outstanding.

Cons: The plaza they are located in is mostly vacant and run down. It was hard to find.  The food was pricey.  I believe the crab cakes and fried cheese sticks were frozen, as were the french fries.  I love lasagne, and while there's was good, I have had better for less money.  After we left my wife and I lamented the price we paid and wished we had visited another Italian restaurant that we like that is much cheaper with food that is just as good.
