I've lived around the Danbury area my whole life but never visited Pippas so I went with a friend last week and my first impression was that it was a 'relaxed low-key atmosphere' which is what I was looking for since I do like sport bars. Food was so-so. A minor complaint that I had was the happy hour price promoted ($3.00 drafts) didn't match what I was charged ($5.00) but I didn't bother saying anything. My biggest complaint didn't come until today when I looked at my bank statement. Being in the service industry for 6+ years, I'm familiar with tip falsification and I make a point to always remember the exact total + tip I left and what the new total is. I don't go overboard with this but I distinctly remember how much I left last week and was charged $4 over the amount. They gave themselves a $10.00 tip on a $27.12 bill which I know I wouldn't leave that much, or calculate the math wrong, without it being a place I regularly visit. I won't waste my time ratting anyone out or complaining to the owner as it's such a minor amount, but the fact that the staff did this (esp. for only a $4 increase) makes me question their honesty and sets a bad reputation.

Needless to say, I won't be going back.

Restaurant had so much potential. It looked like an excellent sports bar with TVs everywhere. The experience was very poor. Service was slow, and the food was average. A bug crawled out of my plate...very disgusting. I told the waitress but she did not seem to care, telling me that she can't control what bugs come into her restaurant. Then after asking for a split check, the waitress charged both of us triple the total amount due. She took a while to sort out the issue. The experience was disappointing. I do not recommend this place. Try another one.

25 TVs in one room A-M-A-Z-I-N-G You can watch and keep up with every game! The food is always delicious and the staff is absolutely amazing, kind and ready to make your meal the best. Some say that a bar atmosphere is very crowded, dirty and not the best place to have a good meal. Wrong! It's clean, it's not too loud and it's really good food!

Pippa's is one of those places you wouldn't notice as you're driving by. Friends brought me here, otherwise I never would have known it was there.
It's a very nice place, and was lively on this particular Sunday afternoon. I ordered the French onion soup and split a burger with a friend. I also tried some other things that my friends ordered: Chicago soup and original spicy buffalo wings. The soups were amazing. The burger was a bit dry. The wings were good, though nothing out of the ordinary.
It's a relaxed atmosphere, and there are a lot of good choices on the menu!
It's a cool local dive with good food and good service.

Amazing, amazing wings! I am a lover of wings and I have found heaven. We went there for Super Bowl yesterday. We ordered 20 wings garlic and 20 wings in Gold Rush..to die for! It's a must for wing night. Plus the bartenders really know how to make a drink.

Great sports bar with lots of flat screens. A must go place for bar food and everything grub. Love their wings (in fact I prefer them over TK's) Though, I wish they had more variety to their sauces. Best thing on the menu: UConn Fries! Great staff. This is a perfect family run  place that even has a kids night (Wednesdays i believe). Kinda small though, gets super busy on game nights.

Pretty cool place. Came here on a Sunday during the NFL (28 televisions) and barely got a seat. It was packed. They also have a front patio which was heated (I'm assuming it's uncovered in the summer?). The staff/bartenders were very polite and accommodating. We ordered the wings which were pretty good (small and crispy), for they had the perfect amount of kick to them.
They had a list of specials and we ordered what was called the "Piglet Burger." It came with bbq, cheese, and really, really thick savory, sweet pieces of bacon. The burger was served on a fresh, soft bun of unknown origin. The bun was dense, and held up very well with a big hunk of meat in the middle.
We also ordered a philly cheese steak. Not the best.  The sandwich was intensely bland in flavor and taste; however, the onion rings were extremely crispy and fresh. They were crazy delicious.
Overall, the atmosphere is great. The food was very tasty (not to mention the dish names on the menu add to the overall persona of the bar), and the staff was wonderful. We were really impressed with how quickly we received our food at such a high volume. Would definitely return.

Not my favorite sports bar but for no good reason either. The wings are good and the staff is really nice. It's not a pub so I didn't really expect a huge selection of beer so I've never been disappointed. The pricing is good and the place itself is nice.

Has a lot of TVs. Could use a larger selection of beer but its ok. I love the front patio. Best place for a Yanks game, hands down. The food is great and the wings are far better than TKs. Great place to catch a ball game during the summer.

Great place for wings in Danbury. Typical bar food so don't expect anything fantastic on the menu. Wings are very good. I prefer them over TK's actually. Can get crowded and hard to find a place to sit.

Ok here goes.  I met a friend to have a couple of beers and some wings. 1. The beer selection wasn't as good as ethier of the two other wing joints in town. But it wasn't too bad, they had at least two beers on tap that weren't owned by the big 3.

    2. They have really tasty if only avg sized wings they have the most crispy of the wing spots in danbury and if they increased the size of their wings and added an actually spicy version of their original spicy wings they could be the best.

Still 4 stars though. I was able to eat my wings and drink while having an actual conversation without raising my voice. Something I've yet to be able to do at tk's. All in all.  For wings they are in a very tight three way race as #2 in danbury though I will occasionally go back because the staff was nice and it looked like a great place to watch the game.  The best wings in Danbury....saddy they come from a chain resterant and they are typically the least expensive. Its a sad day.

Came by on Sunday to eat some wings and drink/cry into my beer over the most recent Giants loss!  Bartenders were fast and friendly.  Wings, while not really big, were tasty in a honey bbq sauce.  A few hours later we decided to eat again and that special Thanksgiving panini was yummy w/turkey, stuffing and cranberry.  2 orders of wings, around 8-10 beers, my sandwich and a burger for my friend didn't cost us much.  I would not hesitate to come by again to watch a game when I am in the area.

We were wandering in the sports bar desert for a little while after leaving Yogi's in Bloomington, IN.  But our recent move to Danbury brought us to Pippa's and we're pretty pleased.

Pippa's is a great sports bar.  The place is packed with televisions.  Even the booths have their own small flat screen TV.  They seem to subscribe to the full range of cable sports channels, so most of the time we can watch our beloved Minnesota Twins.

The menu is good for sports bar standards.  Burgers, appetizers and wraps seem to dominate, but there are plenty of other sandwiches and salads.  We love the UConn fries.  Vegetarians don't have a lot of options, but you're at a sports bar, for goodness sake.  The beer on tap leaves a little to be desired, but the bottle selection is decent.

They've got a nice little outdoor area in front.  The place gets a little rowdy late on big game days.  Parking (a lot behind the place) can be a little challenging if the place is busy.  I just used little in each of the preceding sentences.

This is definitely our go-to spot for sports watching in Danbury.
