Would never go back. Walked in and was invited to take any table. Well, there were plenty of open tables, but none that were clean. Should have left then. While the food was actually quite good, I couldn't keep from wondering what condition the kitchen must be in if the dining room was so dirty. When my order came out wrong, nobody acknowledged it had been a mistake, they just took it and left us waiting and wondering how long I might be before the correct order would be out. Then a server had the audacity to come over and ask us how our dinner was when only three of the four of us actually HAD dinner in front of us. "Oh, let me go check on that." Are you kidding me?
Review Source:I stopped into Pizza Furiosa on a whim, and was pleasantly surprised to find an upscale restaurant with amazing food!
Everything I ordered was top notch. If they happen to have it available, I highly recommend the bacon mac & cheese. So good! The service was great as well, and the place just *smells* amazing when you walk in. It took a little while to get the food, but it was worth the wait. I'll definitely be back again.
We loved this place. Â One of our favs in Flagstaff. Â The pizza with the fresh oregano is so yummy. Â My kids loved the mac and cheese, too. Â We loved the happy hour specials. Â The Spagetti and Meatballs were delicious. Â The staff was super nice....they made it even better. Â We will be back. Â A MUST try in Flagstaff!!!
Review Source:This is one of my favorite Flag restaurants.  The food is really good.  Pizzas hand tossed and then straight into a small brick fire oven.  The portions are ample and filling but this is not where  you go to get 3000 calories of all you can eat pizza.
My girlfriend and I have gone there several times, the place has a good vibe and we like the old style vinyl LP music system, pick your own albums.
Downsides:
1. Â Call before you go, twice in three months we went and they were closed during
regular business hours.  Once was last Saturday in the middle of  the day on
  Memorial Day weekend.
2. Â Yesterday we went there and while cool outside it was hot in there. Â They need to turn on the AC. Â It was either busted or no one was paying attention. Â Watching the oven fires while eating hot pizza in late spring was not much fun. Â Maybe we will go back in late September.
I love this place. Good food, great atmosphere. I believe the tables are made with wood reclaimed from a bowling alley, and the chairs come from old middle schools. There are a ton of board games, which patrons are encouraged to play. There's also a record player + decent selection of records; if you come on a weekday for lunch you're almost guaranteed the position of DJ, since the place can get pretty dead.
As for the food... The #88 was divinely created, I'm sure of it. It's a handcrafted pizza topped with beets, arugula, banana peppers, and fried eggplant; somehow it's only a special, so not always on the menu. The kitchen usually keeps the ingredients stocked, though, so you only need to request it when ordering... it's on the "secret menu."
What a great place! Â Cassidy was a wonderful server! Â We were a group of 10 and had very specific needs, MSG free, gluten free, and vegan options. Â Not only was she accommodating, but she also gave us great recommendations that were perfect! Â The food was fresh and delicious!! Â We will definitely be back to Pizza Furiosa soon!
Review Source:We didn't really enjoy this restaurant. The server messed up our order and brought my husband "regular" pizza instead of the gluten free he ordered. By the time he figured it out, he had eaten a whole slice and later paid the price. Nice guy, very apologetic, but not a good start to our weekend. The GF pizza (when it finally came) was just meh. Bland and not memorable. The regular pizza was ok, not enough sauce though. Better options abound in Flag. Sorry!
Review Source:Great food but a little lacking in service. If your going for the food this is the place. We had fried calamari as an appetizer and pizza and ravioli for dinner and all was great. Service had a little trouble to keep the order straight. But in all, fun place with great food, if I could I would give it 4 and a half stars I would.
Review Source:If you long for flavors on you pizza such as fresh herbs, tasty olive oils, mouthwatering cheeses and authentic wood fired cooked to perfection crust, this is the place for you! The staff that day were helpful, friendly and gave us good tips on creating a meal that was not only memorable, but one to which I will return again and again on my visits to Flagstaff.
Review Source:I wish I could give 5 stars, but alas, the attitude of the employees. This while we were spending $150 on pizza/pasta/wine/dessert. Blech. Fantastic food and wine, atmosphere and price for the quality, but the snobby, borderline rude girls working the front nearly ruined our New Year's Eve visit. We travel to Flag from N. Scottsdale every year at this time, and last year was so very memorable in every way. Need to shore it up, guys or it will cost you plenty of patrons!
Review Source:Amazing food, we got a Marguerite pizza and tried out the green iced tea with honey and the watermelon lemonade. All of it was exquisite. The pizza was made in wood oven. It was cooked quickly and tasted amazing. It was the perfect combination of all the ingredients. The green tea was good my husband liked it more. But the watermelon lemonade was my favorite. Definitely will go back and definitely will recommended this place to everyone.
Review Source:Every Thursday night at 7PM there is live Jazz. Â The pizza is always great, woodfired and fabulous. Â I hear others talk about service, I don't get it, theres no table service. Â You order, they deliver to your table, simple. Â You want something you walk up to the counter you order or ask for something they give it to you....again simple! Â There are games to play while you wait and now BEER and WINE! Â All hand picked by the owner. Â I love this place.
Review Source:I eat here regularly and the food is always very good. Â It is a wood fired pizza that is not dry like some others can be. Â The caprese is one of my favorites with handmade mozzarella. Â Service is fast and there will deliver next door to Wine Style if you want to pick out a wine and now Pizza Furiosa sells wine too. Â By far the best choice on the South/West side of Flagstaff and in the top 3 of all of Flagstaff.
Review Source:I've been back a few times since writing my review. Â My husband and I continue to be impressed with the delicious, creative pizza. Â We've always had good service. Â It's not outstanding service because it's not full table service but we never feel neglected. Â And now they've got beer & wine so I'm looking forward to stopping in during Happy Hour.
Review Source:We were just passing through and had lunch here. It was AMAZING. Seriously, my pizza was delicious. My celiac husband  was in heaven--his pizza was seriously the best he's ever had. The gluten free crust was the crispiest and tastiest, most flavorful he's had since he was diagnosed. We'll just hope we're lucky enough to come through again.
Review Source:My family tried Pizza Furiosa out after reading all the good reviews on Yelp. I have to say that our first experience was not a good one.
First off, they don't deliver despite the info here saying they do. Second, when ordering for pickup they don't have a separate place to pay. One has to wait in line behind all the people ordering to eat in.
In my case, waiting to pay took over 10 minutes and my pizza was just sitting in a box on the counter the whole time. It was cold by the time I paid and left the building. When I got home, the pesto pizza we had was found to be very uneven, with half the pizza lacking any pesto, cheese, or tomato (it was basically just dough). It was also soggy with olive oil and had a puddle underneath in the box. Needless to say, the pizza was not very good.
The restaurant looked fun, the vibe was nice, and the menu sounds tasty. So we're willing to give them another try dining in. But for take-out, Pizza Furiosa should not even be considered.
Got this pizza for dinner and it was soooooo good! We got a pizza with spinach, tomoato, chicken, sauteed onions and alfredo sauce, The pizza is super thin and crispy with thick pieces for the crust, I loved the alfredo sauce because it was really light and not over bearing. The rest of the toppings were good too. Pizza's were on the smaller side I'd guess them at a 12 inch. So it's really only enough for 2 people to share, I'm not sure if they have larger sizes. I will most defineitly be back!
This portion is an update since the last time I have been, unfortunately the experience was not as good. The staff was still very friendly and nice. We had placed another to go order and I was told it would be 15-20 minutes and my pizzas would be ready. I got there at at the 15 minute mark, I was willing to wait about 5 or so minutes. Somehow I wasn't able to pick up our order for another 25 minutes. I don't mind waiting 40-45 minutes for an order, I would just appreciate being quoted a correct time. When we were given our order I asked the lady if it was the #11 #15 and #17, she confirmed it was. The next part was MY mistake for not double checking, but all of the orders were wrong. We ate them anyways and they were okay, but not what we ordered. I thought they either really messed up the order or the online menu was not the same as the in house menu. So I called and asked if the online menu was the same as the in house and the lady confirmed it was the same. So they accidentally messed up our order pretty badly. I am still willing to give them another chance I was just really disappointed the second time around.
Probably the best atmosphere of any pizza joint you'll ever come across. The pizza was pretty great as well. We had their cheese pizza, which was a bit dry, and the basil pesto, which was fantastic. Easily the best of the two.
It would be nice if they had a beer selection, because nothing goes better with pizza than beer! The only other complaint I have is that we arrived around 10 minutes after their supposed opening time, and there was no one in sight and the doors were locked. Had to come back about 30 minutes later to get served.
The place is fun, the food is good, BUT if you are a celiac, you cannot eat their supposedly "gluten free" pizza crust, because while it may be sold to you as gluten free, it is very likely cross contaminated when cooked at the restaurant. Â I, for one, got very sick from eating here, even though I asked a lot of questions before ordering because I am a celiac. Â Please, please, please beware if you are a celiac. Â I was really, really sick after leaving dinner.
Otherwise, for you wheat-eating souls, it's a terrific find for Flagstaff.
The first impression I had walking into the restaurant was that it had a nice vibe and relaxed atmosphere. My ears were greeted by the sounds of a lovely live band (who had no hesitations taking song requests). My family and I came on a Thursday night hungry and ready to eat. The food was amazing!! PIZZA, PASTAS, and SALADS were all wonderful! There is definitely quality and uniqueness in these dishes. Pricing was just as satisfying. Service was great and the food came out surprisingly fast seeing as how the restaurant was almost filled at every table.
Definitely recommend this place and would love to visit again! (I'm from California)
I love this place! Â The atmosphere is fun and quirky. Â The food is awesome. Â The staff is friendly. Â I moved to Flagstaff a few months ago and have been back there several times. Â The pasta, pizza, and salads have all been great. Â I am a vegetarian and my boyfriend is not, we have both always left satisfied.
Review Source:Well, my fourth time here. I tell you, the food is great! My friends loved the food as much as I do BUT once again, bad, bad, bad customer service!
This can be a real deal breaker...customer service was good once, but I think they were told to be on their A game as they knew I was coming from the owner. The evening was ruined as my friends were so frustrated by the nonexistent service.
Not sure how to rectify except fire all, start with a fresh slate and maybe pay a little more for quality employees just like you are paying a bit more to get quality ingredients.
Casual and well done brick oven.
We visited Pizza Furiousa on a week night. The menu has about 8 or 9 pizzas on it and while they aren't traditional, they are not so eclectic that you can't find familiar flavors. There are also a few special pizzas and a pasta dish and some basic appetizers.
We ordered the #11 with veal meatballs and bananna peppers and it was flavorful. Our kids had a plain cheese that was covered in a thin layer of Mozzerella. I also ordered a pizza with chorizo and pepperoni and deleted the chorizo because I just wanted a classic flavor.
I'm knocking them for being inflexible in their menu and for not providing classics like a margherita and a pepperoni. Honestly, what's the deal? There is a reason pepperoni is loved the world over. At least you can delete toppings and can mostly get what you want. Â The crust is thin and slightly charred at the edges but you do get that wonderful brick oven crunch. Â
We finished with the tiramisu which was very good and the lemon cake with fresh strawberries looked promising.
Drinks are sodas, lemondade and bring your own wine from next door (glasses are provided).
I'm knocking them for being too rigid in their menu and not providing the classics but at least the crust is excellent and you should be able to find something you like.
Pizza furiousa is worth 3.5 stars in my book and I will probably be back.
I just want to say to both brick oven places in town. Knock of the pretentiousness and just put the classics on the existing menu. Really, people do know what they like.
My wife and drove through Flagstaff on our way from CA to OK. Relied on the help of other reviewers (like you!) to find decent meals each night. Pizza Furiosa was seriously memorable!
We had an amazing pizza with arugala, banana peppers, and beets on it (sounds weird, totally good), gnocci pasta with pesto sauce, and a salad. The wait staff was particularly helpful in making our selections. Everything was aesthetically beautiful, and even more wonderfully flavorful.
This also happened to be "live jazz" and "bring your own booze" night, which shows that establishment actually aims to create a relaxed community atmosphere. A real treat, indeed.
We wanted to take the meal back to our hotel, and the server & chef were both helpful in packing our food as well as additional condiments to make this easy for us. Thank you both so much!
I'm not sure that we'll ever have a legitimate reason to travel through Flagstaff again, though if by some stoke of luck we do...we will definitely be back to Pizza Furiosa!
Well Done!!
We were driving from California to Dallas, Texas and stopped in Flagstaff for two days. We found Pizza Furiosa via Yelp and figured we should try it out.
The ambiance is very urban chic. The dining area is very minimal. Simple chairs and tables. There is a dj table in the corner playing some really appropriate music. Not too loud or fast paced. Perfect for the meal. They even have an in door garden where they grown their own herbs. I thought that was an adorable touch. Also, the girl who helped us was adorable. Super friendly and very welcoming. It served for a great experience, even though it was just an order for pick up.
We ordered the calamari (#00), the smoked salmon salad with balsamic vinaigrette (#03) and the banana pepper pizza (#11). For two people, this was a perfect amount of food.
The calamari was good. The squid itself was not chewy and the fried breading was very light. Not too crispy or heavy. The dipping sauce was really great too.
The smoked salmon salad was great. I think it typically comes with a honey mustard dressing but I had asked specifically for a vinaigrette and was not disappointed. The roasted peppers, artichokes, and olives were perfect compliments to the strong tasting arugula. And the vinaigrette was the right amount of balsamic and olive oil that allowed for the veggies to do most of the work.
The banana pepper pizza was to die for. We didn't know if an 11 inch pizza was going to be large enough for the both of us because we both really enjoy pizza, but surprise surprise, it was just right!
Whoever is creating these dishes is a true master of complimentary flavors. If I am ever in Flagstaff, Arizona again, you bet your toosh I'm coming back. As for you, if you have an adventurous palette and can appreciate unique flavors, I would highly recommend stopping by.
I went here again, with the same couple after their wedding for dinner! I ordered the #13, with braised mushrooms, leeks, and goat cheese. Again I got a strawberry lemonade, but this time they tried to double charge me because I asked for no ice (which I had also done the first time with no problems)- and they weren't even going to tell me that they double charged me until I asked why the bill seemed higher than it should be. I was pretty taken aback by this.
The food is good, but this night (Sunday June 2), the service was pretty horrible.
Recommended by a fellow yelper, came here b/c the weather in flagstaff was too windy for snowboarding. I would say it was a good choice since the food was good. We ordered a bunch of different pizzas, #10, 11, and 13. I tried all three and were satisfied with all of them with #11 being my favorite.
One thing I really liked about this place is you can taste that they use fresh ingredients plus the pizza dude is tossing the dough in front of you so you know where it's coming from. The place is BYOB which would've been good to know in advance.
The atmosphere is very laid back with a record player, some art on the walls, and board games to play with. We played chess which consisted of wine cork pawns and bottle cap bishops (b/c they probably lost it). Half of the customers were done with eating and just hanging out too, so must be a cool spot to just chill out (maybe they have wifi- did not confirm it)
I would go again to try appetizers, but it wasn't anything that made me go WOW.
Q: What is a dog's favorite pizza?
A: PUParonni!!
I loove the feel of this place! Hip and modern! They actually play songs on records! We ordered #10, the basil and tomato dish!! Superb!!!! The pizza was about 11-12 inches and it was one of the better pizzas I've tried! :( Don't forget to get $2 off using yelp!! This place is so delicious I came here for dinner and then returned for lunch the next day! If you look near the kitchen, they also have games such as chess, Yahtzee, cards, and many more! =) I'd definitely recommend this place!
The food was excellent, easily the best calamari I have had in Flagstaff and probably Arizona given the price charged. The pizza was delicious and full of flavor and imagination. The fact they use a wood fired oven makes the crust extremely delicious. They use all natural ingredients and you can taste the qualty in the dishes.
The Caprese was delicious, the mozzarella was fresh and not overpowering. If you are looking for a new place to eat in flagstaff this is definitely the place to go!
This place is awesome. Â Found it on Yelp while driving through Flag yesterday and the missus and I are still thinking about it (and wishing it was closer!).
Everything about it is great, the food is incredible (the difference between a chef and a cook). Â We had a special pizza that was fantastic and a ravioli special that was great as well. Â They made a wicked grilled cheese for our son (he's 4) and we had an amazing bread pudding dessert. Â The drink selection was very cool, lots of alternative/interesting sodas + mexican coke (yeah real sugar!).
The staff was awesome, Chris was our host/server and he was great. Â His level of service and interest made me think he owned the place.
The atmosphere was great and very fortunately for us it was empty at 12 on a Sunday as our son had the run of the place and got to work out some of his energy (we drove 9 hours from Kingman to Santa Fe that day).
I highly recommend Pizza Furiosa, we can't wait to go back. Â Enjoy!
Great wood fire pizza! Fast service (although we were the first ones seated), friendly staff, kid friendly, local ingredients.
This was such a fun experience. We bought a bottle of wine next door, they even have a wine chiller for the whites you buy and want to drink right away. Pizza Furiosa gave us glasses. My mom and I, and my toddler son shared the iceberg wedge salad and the mushroom leek pizza and the tirarmisu. All super yummy, plenty of food. If you don't like black pepper you won't like the buttermilk dressing. The whole experience was outstanding!
Good service, tasty pizza, and ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS, FRESH, AND AMAZING CAPRESE. Â
The only reason I want to go back is for the caprese. Â The tomatoes were large, juicy, bright red, and flavorful. Â The basil was fresh and the mozzarella was creamy. Â Not to mention, the balsamic was think, tangy, and sweet. Â To die for!
The only major downside is the atmosphere. Â It seems like a relaxed place to have dinner with friends, but the DJ comes in and starts playing rave music. Â Most of the people who are eating there are obnoxiously loud and intrusive. Â However, the service wasn't great. Â Most of the servers were distant and slow to react when we needed anything.
Go to this place for a GREAT dinner, lunch, or snack.
Atmosphere:
Relaxed, modern, and stylish.
Service:
Friendly, helpful, and quick to help. Genuinely happy and energetic as well.
Food:
YUM! The pizza is simple and fresh! It's baked to order and so perfectly delicious. Not heavy, greasy, or boring either. The pesto and walnut pizza was beautifully done. Salad was great too.
Drinks:
You have to buy your wine or beer next door, but they are friends with Furiosa and equally helpful. Their selection is great and the prices are right! At the restaurant, the orange julius is homemade, creamy, and so good!
Overall, this may be the best pizza I've had. I can be picky about good food, and this is honestly some of the best value!
