When I first tried Pizza Deepo it was delicious. The last few pizzas I've ordered have been almost all crust and no cheese or ingredients. The last pizza I ordered was a cheese and spinach but it was all bread! It was hard to find the cheese and the spinach was burned on the top. Not sure I'll order again any time soon. Can't pay hard earned $$ for a loaf of bread when I want a pizza.
Review Source:Good food, and love the byob, but it really seems that the staff is inexperienced in the restaurant world. They were all very friendly, but we waited an hour for our pizza, and had to ask for everything...water, ice, etc. Good food but they need a major crash course in customer service.
Review Source:good pizza on the first two visits, Â Slow but good, Â customer service was shaky at first visit after opening. Â
- the next visit was a bit worse service waiter seemed to think he was doing us a favor by serving and did not follow up with the table.
- third visit service was downright rude. Â It takes years to build a customer base seconds to lose a customer, Â I was willing to give them a couple chances as they were just starting, but I will never enter their door again. Â sad as we live very close by and it would be great to have a good business in that location. Â will not recommend to anyone, in fact will advise friends against going here. Â Â pathetic
Unlike other area pizza joints, Â and as the name suggest, Pizzeria Deepo specializes in deep dish. Â So if you're looking for thin crust, seek elsewhere.
They make a mean spinach pizza and the sauce is fresh and tomatoey.
So why only 3-stars? The pizza is excellent. I've never dined-in--only have done carry-out. Seems like they need to do a better job at predicting when your carry-out order will be ready to be picked up.
The typical wait for their pizza is usually an 60 minutes, but I've also called and given a 90-minute wait. I don't mind waiting for a good pizza.
Here's the rub though. If they give you a pick-up time, they SHOULD be able to stick to it, right?
Not my experience.
Several times I've had to wait as long as 15 - 25 minutes once I arrived. Granted this is typically a weekend, but how come most of the other local pizza joints can seem to have your order time down. I chalked the first time up to the fact that they had just moved to the new location on 99th, but it's happend practically every  time.
Bottom line, is it worth the wait? You bet, Just be prepared to add 15 minutes to the pick up time they tell you. Better yet, if you're in the neighborhood, maybe they can  ask them to call YOU when your pizza is ready for pick-up.
Awesome! Had pick-up last night. After arriving to pick up, I definitely will come back to enjoy dinner here in this wonderful little restaurant conveniently located at the 99th St. Rock Island line station. The sauce was the best that we've had on the Southside. The crust was a close second. I can't wait to have some more!
Review Source:THE best pizza on the soutwest side handsdown.
This pizza has its origins in Pizzaria Uno's from the 1950's. Same pedegree as Louisa's in Crestwood. Both places were started by women who had worked at Uno's for years. Louisa's has seen much better days but Deepo takes me back to "the days" in the 50's and 60's. BYOB which is great for a craft brew and wine drinker like myself with a limited budget. The staff even gave me an ice bucket to keep my beverages chilled. These folks are always very friendly to me and I especially like the waiter who does a take on Little Richard. Very cool. BUT, the pizza is the star here.
Great Beverly spot. Â Fantastic pizza (similar to Lou Malnatis or Louisa's), cool environment, and the best part is that it is BYOB! Â An eclectic but fun and interesting owner and wait staff. Â My only complaint, which is very minor, is that you can smell a bit like food after leaving the restaurant.
Review Source:We've been back a couple of times since our first visit. Â The pizza remains excellent, but the customer service ranges from so-so to abysmal.
Our second visit was on a Sunday night when the place was fairly quiet. Â Only a few tables were filled, and there was some takeout business. Â The pizza was excellent, but the waitress was a bit clueless and inattentive.
A few weeks ago, we called ahead for takeout and were told it would be ready in one hour - the standard wait. Â My husband went to pick up the order at that time and was told there had been a problem and the pizza would be slightly delayed. Â He waited... and waited... and waited. Â It was finally ready half an hour after the promised time. Â We couldn't understand why they didn't call to let us know about the delay, since they did get our phone # on ordering. Â The pizza was excellent, but the lack of courtesy was inexcusable.
They've had a few months to settle in, and they still don't seem to care or have a clue about how to treat customers. Â I think I'd rather go to Giordano's next time I want a deep dish pizza. Â At least those folks understand customer service.
The pizza was great, we also got a special salad which was really good, we just expected it to be a little bigger, it was more of a side salad than a Salad to share. Â
The service was all around pretty pathetic, they were slow and didn't really seem to know what they were doing which was weird because the place is pretty small and the menu is very simple, just deep dish pizza, salad, and a couple appetizers.
Even if the service doesn't improve, I'll come back for pick up when I'm craving deep dish pizza.
The pizza here was definitely  5 star! I agree with other posters - it actually IS better than Lou's!  The only reason for 4 stars in my review is that I had to wait 30 min. longer than expected for my pizza (1hr 16 min) -carry out.  Understandably they are a new restaurant and have some "kinks" to work out.  I'm really hoping that they do!  Note - this restaurant is BYOB.
Review Source:Based on other reviews, I brought a crowbar to work my way through the crowd to pick up my pizza, but it was totally unneccesary. Â There were even tables available. Â Since the original Pizza Deepo (and I just caught on to the double entendre in the name) closed, I mourned the loss of this deep dish pizza that is not an avalanche of cheese like some places downtown but a perfect balance of crust, sauce, cheese, and fillings. Â Pizza pound for pound, less expensive than thin crust from other local joints.
