Sistah's Vegan Restaurant

I was a vegetarian for 3 years, until grad school destroyed my will to plan any meals ever. My life is now a lot simpler, so I've been contemplating "going veg" again. The only problem is that I live on the far South side, and I freakin love going out to eat. The vegetarian options down here are limited. So I was excited to try Sistah's after seeing the fabulous yelp reviews. We ordered the enchiladas and the African marsala. The good news is that it was absolutely delicious. The sides, the entrees, the soups: all great. The bad news is...everything else. We thought our food would take 20 minutes tops. Over an hour later, our food came out. Finally. During this ginormous wait, no one came out to apologize or inform us of any approximate wait time. No one even offered some soup (which comes with the meal)  to tide us over. When we got it, we were sick of waiting awkwardly at the little tables, and my boyfriend asked for it to go. The guy working seemed annoyed at that request. Hm. The food was delicious, so maybe next time I'll call ahead an hour before I think I'll be hungry.

I came here after I left my Dr. Appointment. I can't have beef or pork so I decided to go hardcore and do vegan.Yea, I know that's impossible for your hardcore meat eaters,but this place got serious flavor. I adore their chipotle sauce and wish they bottle that stuff and sell it by its self. I will be coming here for my vegan fix. Oh and by the way,as I waited on my food,I had great talk with the young lady who is a cashier. She is the reason for the five star review(and that sauce).

Sistah's is off the chain!!!  People do not allow your narrow mind to block you from this culinary delight!  This restaurant shows that you do not need to consume all of those nasty foods to have a great meal.  I have tried their roti sandwiches, the salads, the tacos, the panini and the pizza; I am working my way around the menu.  Please support this wonderful establish so that they may hire more ppl to improve the speed of service :)
