This was our second visit for dinner on a Tuesday night using a $30 Colorado's Best Deals offer.  It was Kids Eat Free night and there were a lot of kids there.

They still need a website and available Take out menus.  They do have a Facebook page.

The server brought us a wine bottle of chilled water with 2 small glasses.  We also got a basket of bread with olive oil and a plate of parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes and oregano to dip the bread.

We started with the Stuffed Shrooms appetizer ($6).  There were 4 stuffed mushroom caps on a bed of fresh arugula.  They were stuffed with cheese, pancetta,  sausage, breadcrumbs, and parmesan.  The parmesan could have been melted a minute longer.

We ordered the large 14"  NY Style Taylone Pizza ($24) which had mozzarella, tomato sauce, pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, and roasted onions.  Once again the crust was soggy.  The toppings were not evenly distributed.

    Service was friendly and attentive.

    We probably won't be back.

Always get great service and delicious fresh pizza toppings and salad dressings. Ideal place for a lunch meeting. Relatively quiet and inviting. It's easy to miss (north side of Arapahoe and Peoria) but definitely the best pizza in DTC.

Awesome pizza! Haven't experienced the drinks so I can't speak for anything beyond the pizza but that alone is worth the stop.

Obviously there are different expectations for giving 5 stars for a pizzeria vs a steak house. I was so pleasantly surprised by the food, I couldn't find a reason to not give them 5 stars. Everything we had was fresh and tasty. Overall everything was great.

Hats off to Pizzeria Di Olinto for serving simple delicious food.

    "Something besides Maggie's."
    "How about a wine bar?"
    "Okay."
    "This is good."
"Let's come back again and eat dinner."
    Big wine pours.
Weird appetizer....but it was Happy Hour....
    Did I say, "Happy Hour?"

I dont know if the 2 bad reviews even know where they ate.  We stopped here for lunch today and I can say WOW.  If you think the pizza tastes like frozen then you must have eaten at Peppenios right down the street.  We would make a stop at Peppenios every couple of weeks when we were in a hurry.  This place just made a regular weekly stop on our lunch route.

Very friendly wait staff and from what it looked like the owner was as well.  I dont care how the walls were painted I normally care what my food tastes like and looks.

Dont let the 2 1 star reviews stop you from trying this place out.  Trust me you wont be sorry.

I may be rating this a bit too high but I am always happy when there is a new restaurant.in my neighborhood that is not a chain.  I hope this restauant makes it and I see no reason it should not.

The grilled vegetable salad with balsamic vinegar and the pizza with 2 different salamis was very good.  The homemade bread is pretty  tasty as well.

There is a small bar and there is a HH   Nice especially for that neighborhood.  Could easily be a fun hangout.  The walls are grey and I just painted my sons condo in a few shades of grey.  Nice.

Everybody working including of course the owner are friendly and helpful.  I know I will be back.

Oh geez...I hate to ding this place because I think the owner is trying really hard to get her business going.  But, based on the food I ate, I cannot recommend going here.  We came armed with a Denver Daily Deal, which brought the total bill to $25 for two people.  Much better than the regular $40, but based on the poor quality of food, still high.  The atmosphere was not what we were expecting...it was more like a bar than a cozy, quaint Italian restaurant.

We were really excited to try the food, based on the Yelp reviews we had read.  But now I can say that I have no idea what everyone else is talking about.  The bread appetizer?  Plain bread with olive oil and some garnishes.  Okay...I can buy that and eat it at home.  Nothing special and actually really flavorless.  House salad?  Dripping with way too much oil and lemon.  I had to shake each leaf before I could eat it and I ended up giving half to my husband because I just didn't like it.  I went for the spaghetti carbonara with meatballs based on what the other Yelp reviews said.  I think I ate maybe a 1/3 of my plate and left the rest - didn't even take a box home.  I often eat the Weight Watchers frozen carbonara meal and that is so much better than what they charge $15 for at this restaurant.  Go to Walmart and save yourself a lot of money for way better pasta, seriously.  The carbonara here was so dry, coated with parmesan, and had no flavor at all.  Meatballs were clumped together and dry.

My husband ordered pepperoni pizza with olives.  I saw another review on Yelp saying it was like a frozen pizza from the grocery store - that was our impression too.

Maybe happy hour is better?  I don't know how it could be because the food is the same.  We will not be back.  For Italian, our favorite is still Pasquini's on Broadway.

Well, the pizza crust was good but Margherita was bland - had to ask for more basil. From the reviews maybe need to order something bolder. Staff very nice. Suggested another pizza "for next time." Happy hour 2 for 1 on wine though, that always helps.

I don't know how they do it. They manage to perfectly duplicate the taste of frozen pizza. I should have known when my "pie" to go was ready in three or four minutes. The dough was like cardboard and the sauce tasted as if straight from the can. I wanted to like this place because despite all of the restaurants with New York in the name, I haven't found one that comes close. I may give them a second chance in the hope that it was a off day when I was there, but so far this is about as far from authentic Italian or even New York Italian as you can get.

So I have now been here twice.  The first time, it was just the kiddo and myself.  Second time, I brought my hubby along with us.  This review combines my two experiences.

I have been DYING to get a decent italian restaurant in the southern suburbs.  Maggianos just doesn't cut it people.  And when your neighbors tell you, "so we're going out to a nice restaurant tonight....  Olive Garden has GREAT breadsticks" that's when I know we've hit rock bottom.

So I saw this decent review of Olinto in Westword and that night I took my kiddo for a late dinner at the joint, praying the whole way there that it wouldn't be an utter disappointment and shutter within a month.  Well, I could tell they were still getting their footing, but Teri, the owner, has an amazing drive and really wants everyone who walks through the door to enjoy themselves.  She is what makes this place 5 star to me.

Kiddo decided that her go-to dish of alfredo would be a good basis of judgement for her.  I decided to go for the carbonara - its a bit rich for my palette normally, but I was feeling adventurous - throw on some sausage and we're golden.  I had a fresh-made caesar salad (the dressing was fresh, not just the crisp lettuce). The meal was yummy, fresh, you could taste the craftsmanship.  Service, not as attentive as I'm used to (but it was later in the evening).  Teri recommended the smores pizza to us, so we gave it a go, and loved it.  Nutella, marshmallows and graham crackers - YUM!  Vowed to Teri that we'd be back with my better half soon!

Second visit - well, it was a fluke night, I'd say.  We ended up in a corner table, and Teri greeted us after a bit - she remembered me from the first time we came (again - that's what I look for in a local italian joint).  But things seemed to go downhill.  Took awhile to get drinks (over 5 minutes), then we had to ask to have our order taken after another almost 10 minutes.  We were the invisible table it seemed.  We flagged down other servers to refill drinks and bread - food took longer because we were behind a big table.  Then hubby just wasn't pleased with his food - flavor profiles didn't mesh with mine it seemed.  Though I had the salccicio pizza and it was mighty yummy (he even enjoyed it).  Kiddo tried the Olinto pasta and she ate it up - veggies and all (which is not an easy task for an anti-veggie kid such as herself).

But once Teri found out that we were having a rough night, she did what any good owner would do - she made sure we left happy.  She came over, apologized, explained the situation (without making excuses) and made sure my husband understood.  Now, he's willing to give it another go - and he appreciates her passion for her business.  She honestly cares about making Pizzeria di Olinto a success - and it shows by how she greets the tables, remembers her guests, treats her employees (she doesn't raise her tone, she corrects by saying "here, let me show you...") and wants everyone's experience to be a good one.  She makes things right.

We'll definitely go back - and keep trying new things.  I'll be getting my hands on the Pasta Olinto next time.  And I can't wait to have the Smores Pizza again! (Perfect for the whole table!)  Don't take my review as negative - take it as a growing experience.  Every new restaurant has a moment or a fluke.  I've worked in restaurants myself - I understand things happen.  This is a great restaurant with great potential.  It will be successful, because the owners care.  It shows.

Awesome wood fired pizza place at Arapahoe and Peoria.

The decor is modern rustic. I think it might be a nice place for a romantic pizza dinner after a movie in the evenings. It has a very warm atmosphere. There is a bar area towards the back and seating outside.

First off you get bread (soft, obviously made fresh) and oil and a large bottle of water. We ordered a salad and pizza.

The salad ingredients were fresh and crisp. Nice light dressing.

The pizza ingredients were also very good. Nice mix of cheese. Sauce had fresh tomato-y flavor. Giant pepperoni slices got crisp like you want them to. The dough was crispy and chewy. Overall very good.

The owners and staff were very friendly. Service was good.
