The name is very deceiving. Not only because it wasn't very pleasurable but there were children still in the area. Nothing wrong with kids but if you have an area titled, pleasure island and its aim is to be touted as the "adult" side to disney you miss the mark when kids are still involved. Its made up mostly of restaurants and a couple of bars/lounges and small shops. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit personally and would recommend others not to go out of their way either.

Eeek! Pleasure Island was not what I had hoped for during my visit to Downtown Disney.

Like so many others have said, it is a bit of a trashy tourist trap. There are some good things about it, like the Irish pub and the music coming out of the bars, sort of reminiscent of being in college, but not what I wanted to experience. I want to be in college in order to experience college night type of atmosphere, not Disney.

I think if I ever go back, I would give it a try during the day, not later evening, before it turns to sketchville.

I come from the old school PI days. Comedy Warehouse, Adventurer's Club, Mannequins... I miss them! The new stuff is pretty decent.., Paradiso 37 is probably one of my favorite places at DTD. Try their fried mac and cheese app. SO GOOD!

I'm sure this is more of a night place, but I've only ever been here during the daytime. Walking around, you'll find several restaurants, pubs, retail shops, and different forms of entertainment from dance clubs to arcades to movies to a bowling alley. They even have a tethered hot air balloon ride that takes you up allowing you to overlook the Disney area. If you are already in the Downtown Disney Marketplace, it's probably worth the time to walk through Pleasure Island. If you have kids with you, they will likely want to go to the bowling alley or to Disney Quest, which is basically a bunch of arcade gams.

Wow has this place turned all tourists!  Back when I lived in Orlando and Pleasure Island opened up it was an adult spot with great bars and clubs.  Now its a family destination with the ambiance of a circus.  Don't get me wrong, its perfect for that but if you are looking for a nice night out with dancing, PI is not the place.  If the weather is nice, there are numerous restaurants that have outdoor seating and on many occasions you will have the outdoor live music which is nice.  PI is a good place to go, just expect to be bumped by a lot of people.

Used to be a giant area of non-stop fun, dancing and drinking now it's all open with individual clubs. Loved how it used to be because if you didn't like the club you were in you simply walked over to the next one lol.  Now they downsized your options and opened it all up for pedestrians. You can now relax in the big couches, by the West Side area, and listen to the live outdoor cover bands.

Still who doesn't want to party at Disney?? LOL :)

There is not too much to do here except for tourists and House of Blues. Planet Hollywood seems to be busy but "been there done that" attitude keeps me at bay. One thing is completely solid FIVE STARS.....Cirque du Soleil® -- La Nouba!!!!!

Pleasure Island...many people think that it is gone completely...it is definitely not the same adult entertainment district of Down Town Disney...but there are still some reasons to stop here on your next trip.

Pleasure Island used to be a group of clubs that was open only to the adult crowd. Disney shut down all the clubs and has been re-vamping this area for the past couple of years.

There are several Restaurants, including Ragland Road (Irish pub) that offer entertainment, food and drinks. Several locations also have patio seating and some offer live music.

Just across the bridge from the giant hot air balloon, are two outdoor stages with live music sessions most nights. Two bands alternate 30 minute sets to entertain guests. There is some seating at tables and some outdoor sofa's in the area. There is usually a Gypsy Flamenco Guitarist, Nicholas Marks, who is extraordinary...really a must see. Then there is usually a pop/dance band as well, who get the young and old alike jumping to their feet. So it is good entertainment and good people watching too :-) There is an outside bar is a full bar.

Across from the twin stages is an area where they often have "living statues" who pose for photos. The kids and adults alike stand and gaze at them in amazement as they stand "statue still" until they move to pose for a photo. There is a popcorn cart with different beverages in this area.

Note: The official stance of Disney is that the district of Pleasure Island is still in development. Buildings from The Adventurers Club and Comedy Club and some of the dance locations are still there...so hopefully we will see some of the old Pleasure Island come back in the future.

Is pleasure island dead?  No! It is no longer an adults only night club playground but it is still open.  There many nice restaurants and bars. There is live music Tuesday through Saturday.  Two different bands switch off 30 minute sets. There is plenty of tables chairs and couches to sit on while you enjoy a cold beverage.
