Powers Pub is fantastic! I recently held a private birthday party here and it was nothing short of PERFECT! The owners were fantastically accommadating and allowed me to choose everything from food, dj, to decorations! This pub is adorable and always has something going on from live music (ecclectic in taste - jazz, 3 peice band, dj) to pub trivia!.its a local neighborhood joint with a NYC feel!
Review Source:Powers is a great neighborhood bar. It is like Cheers, everyone knows your name. Amy, the bartender, is much more than just a beer slinger. She has become a friend, as has Chef Donna. The food is not your average, heart burn waiting to happen, pub grub. Donna cares about the food she serves and makes everything to order. The hummus platter, risotto balls, and specialty pizza creations are tremendous. This is a great place to kick back and relax with friends, sit at the bar to watch a game, or get acquainted with one or more of the friendly regulars. There is trivia on Tuesday nights, and live music on the weekends. I love Powers, and so will you!
Review Source:Over all, I like Powers Pub the atmosphere is casual, small,  inviting, dark and apparently not great lighting for taking pictures.  The bartender, not so personable, not even a smile.  whoa, but she's efficient like a robot and great service,  the owner is much more outgoing in personality.  I like their choices of wine, I met with friends and friends of friends and there was a DJ that night that I was not enthusiastic about.  Melodic time-warp.  They have pretty even keeled menu, the basic and some interesting specials, one customer suggested the beef stew, but nah, but I like that they have a soup on the special board, that's rare.  We ordered the calamari with fries, which was tasty, the balsamic redux was a bit much, just enough on there, but I swear the first bite tasted like an onion ring, not a lot of flavor of squid coming through, the batter is a bit too much and salty.  Aside was a cup of red sauce, which was awesomely delicious.  Once we got to the bottom, squid sat in a fair amount of oil in the bottom of the bowl, along with a lemon wedge.  So, although the squid was not oily, some of the goodness was lost, because you would've already finished the dish, by the time you got to the oil.  The fries were good.  The chicken wrap seemed popular with sweet potato fries, that were tasty but adding more sugar to sweet potato fries is kinda brave,  it didn't work.  The buffalo chicken tenders, my favorite bar food ever was spicy, a bit too brightly orange and the side of fries sufficient, unfortunately the salt factor combined with the tenders' sauce and the  salt and old bay seasoning (didn't know) on the fries, I had a hard time eating and I am not a big fan of blue cheese on my spicy chicken but I had to do, just to cover up the saltiness of the fries and chicken.  Old Bay is a strong seasoning and it also appeared the cook was just seasoning way to close to the bowl, some fries were rife with seasoning and some had none.  In the end,  after more water and wine I had a great evening,  Maybe when I return, I"ll ask for the sweet potato fries, lightly seasoned with Old Bay, lightly.  I recommend going, I definitely  recommend eating here it is that kinda place where people can sit and eat dinner and not feel guilty about it, because its cozy at the bar as well as tables.
