Great booze.  Love the kilts.  Get a pint with a 4 leaf clover on it.

Not quite like a real British pub, but still a very good selection of beer and whiskey & the best local source for fish & chips, shepherd's pie, bangers & mash, etc.

Went here for a birthday meal. Laid back kind of place with (obviously) pub food and lots of beer. Had a Guinness, beer cheese and the fish n' chips. HUGE piece of fish and lots of fries. All exceedingly delicious. I got a free dessert since it was my yearly holiday and tried the whiskey bread pudding. BLEW MY MIND. So good. Overall one of the best meals I've had in a long time. I don't know what the people complaining about the prices were expecting because our bill included a beer, an appetizer and two meals for about $40. That seems pretty reasonable to me.

Great British and American pub fair.  All the expected British foods are present for the most part.  Kind of reminds me of a British Hooters given the Euro sports bar feel with the waitresses in mini kilts.  Have been there a few times now and have yet to get a bad meal of drink.  Always good atmosphere.  You can tell the owner really wanted to go all out to make it really feel like a legit british pub when you walked in.

This place is a fun place to go eat.  They have that traditional Irish Pub thing going on where you can sit at the table and play games and do trivia which makes the environment one that is open and enjoyable.  Their beer selection is extensive, which is great for a beer lover like myself.  I ate the lamb burger, it was great but the fried pickles were my favorite part of the meal.

Okay, so I came here twice while I was on vacation in KY..   Being a cityslicker from CA, I felt bad for all-ya'll in KY...   But while out, I wanted some Shepards Pie, so came to Yelp, for Help..   Thankfully, this place delivers!  I dig the decor, I dig the ladies in the skirts, I dig the clever shirts...  The bar is cool, and I love the 2oz pours with a nice selection of bottles..  Try the sampler too, three diff 1oz shots for $12..  It's even done very well too with tiny sniffer glasses..  Anyhow, both times I sat at the bar and had good service..  First time, bar maiden told me if I didn't like what I ordered, she'd have it and bring out my second choice..  Second time, bar maiden was just too cute-n-sexy..  Both times, great Shepards Pie and fair whiskey bread pudding...  Add the fact that both times, the music in the place, while not brittish, was on point if your in your 30s or 40s...  Ahh, memories....     Anyhow, this place gets two thumbs up from me..  Anytime I come back to KY, I'll be back here...

    Try the Shepherds Pie.

We tried this restaurant for the first time and the food was good but not as good as I was expecting. The shepards pie was a little salty. Must say that the whiskey bread pudding was the highlight of the meal. Must try this delicious dessert. Their Margarita's are also very tasty. The music too loud for my taste.  Overall I would visit again and try something different.

While I was impressed with the drink selection, and the stiffness of them, the food was over priced and i left wanting something else.  The outside patio is nice, the flies not so much. The service- friendly, knowledgeable and quick. I had the bangers and mash, very disappointing for the price and small quantity.  The side salads are good, nice size. People in my party had burgers, they looked good, but $12 really? Most everything was $3-4 over priced than any other place similar to this. The only reasonable thing were the drinks. I'd go back for boozing and maybe try lunch, this time inside at the bar.

This is a cool place to have a drink and some lunch before going to mall. We usually sit at the bar and get pretty good service. I think they have an excellent French dip. I would also recommend the chicken pot pie.

Imagine if TGI FRidays or Chili's had a British cousin, it would be The Pub. Lots kitsch from the UK adorn the walls and ceiling and ALL the servers wear kilts. I am not sure what that is about. A large selection of beers and beer steins adorn the bar. The menu consists of typical pub fare: bangers and mash, shepherd's pie, fish and chips, etc.

I opted for my old stand by of fish and chips and ice tea. My order was more traditional than most fish and chips. A large filet of beer battered cod laid on a bed of thick cut french fries. Thankfully, this place was authentic enough to have malted vinegar on the table. The fish was not too heavily battered which was nice. The star of the dish however, was the tartar sauce. Creamy, tangy, with just a hint of saltiness. One of the better tartar sauces I have had in a while.

Service started slow, but quickly improved. My waiter was always on top of my drink order, bringing me fresh glasses of ice tea without me having to ask. So despite the decor being a little cheesy, the tartar sauce and service save the day!

The beer selection is good, but I find this place a little overpriced for what it is.

Mediocre franchise, pseudo English pub.  Okay beer selection, okay service.  Felt like Bennigans with upgraded decor...  Not very much by way of TVs...

Last night was my first trip to The Pub. It's had quite a reputation, by my observation, for quality and atmosphere and, by my limited experience, it lives up to the hype. It was a Wednesday at around 6:30 PM, the crowd was minimal, the server was awesome and the atmosphere was quite welcoming. (The 3-star rating is because last night was my first trip to The Pub. I'm a writing teacher, I'll revise.)

Aesthetics: Someone very clearly put a lot of work into arranging the interior of The Pub. It makes one feel as though s/he isn't sitting in the middle of a commercial center in Lexington. And the music! The music -- early 90s and indie rock/folk-sounding -- really completed the place.

Menu: in short, the food was fantastic. I had the fish and chips and, being a nut for such fare, was duly impressed. The dish has a plate-sized piece of fish served atop thick-cut fries and is served with a creamy and rich tartar sauce. A friend made a meal of the goat cheese appetizer dip; I grabbed a piece of the pita, tried it, and... wow. I loved it; to be fair, it tasted like the inside of a fancy cheese stick, but I loved it. At some point, there was a cookie and ice cream dessert. It kept pace with the rest of the fare and tasted as though the kitchen didn't begin work on it until we'd placed the order. And the drinks. A full 60% of the menu is devoted to drinks, so if you leave thirsty, shame on you.

Money: You get what you pay for. I've eaten at pricier places, but I've also filled-up for a lot cheaper. My fish and chips ran me around $14 and was worth twice that. Don't fear the prices. I felt as though it was money well-spent. Also, they actually publish ALL of their drink prices in the menu which, to me, was quite convenient.

All in all, you should go.

Basically a sports bar with a British, Scottish, Irish dacor, drink and food. A little higher priced foods but the drinks are average for the atmosphere. The menu is a mix of american and english with a sprinkle of asian (coleslaw which was very good). Here I wouldn't bother with anything but the traditional english fares as you can get plenty of the american choices at any of the many surrounding bars and restaurants at a little better price. Think, "...you don't go into a Japanese Steak house for a hamburger...".  Five stars for the beer selection! Don't bother with the Ahi tuna appetizer. It was, disappointingly, five tiny pieces of fish that I had to search the plate to find. It was camouflaged by the huge amount of asian coleslaw. Go for the English Pot Roast or the Sheppards Pie. They were Yummy! I would definitly return for that Pot Roast again.

Slow bar service... More than decent food, quite a few bar options. I really enjoyed my stay. Nice decor.

I've been to London in Europe and this place is close to an authentic British pub (which I have been to) although its definitely been Americanized. Haha, for sure. The food is pretty darn close though! I'm not a huge fan of authentic British food, and this place as it. Do not order the bangers and mash (unless you like that kinda stuff), they were horrible. Fish and chips are delicious! Very fun atmosphere!

It is also pretty pricey! I wouldn't call anything here cheap, it definitely seems overpriced.

We ate here after a recent UK football game.  We had a wonderful experience even with a large group.  I had the fish and chips and my wife the bangers and mash.  Both were really good.  I also loved there bourbon selection.  I had a nice Knob Creek and a bourbon barrel ale.  Also both very nice.  We would drop by again if we're in town.

Fun atmosphere and good food. They waiters all wear kilts, which is a nice addition to the British feel. A great selection of beer - and you even kinda feel like you're in a pub (even though you're in a strip mall type building).

It has a nice look on the inside, very british. If your not sure what kind of beer to get ask for a sample

Another update from the Pub.. I guess I have always had high hopes and expectations from this place that  every visit turns into another review..I just hope they can fix certain things..
Don't get me wrong, even though I give this place 3 stars (more like 3.5 stars) I really enjoy the place but there are things that could be done better.

It has a great atmosphere with a large floor plan and dim lights with a perfect pub feeling..Outdoor seating is a plus on the summer nights. They have a pretty good beer selection and an option of sampling 4 of your favorite draught beer in 5 oz glasses..

However, I can't just ignore the fact that beer prices are slightly higher than average that you would find in Lexington. The relaxed atmosphere is perfect for enjoying several pints with friends but when I see the check, I realize they are operating on a high exchange rate from pint to dollar!!!

Another problem is the changes in the menu and the quality of food. Menu seems to be slowly drifting away from the "pub theme" but I guess it appeals to a larger group of people with more random items on the menu. However the quality of food is definitely affected- I feel like recently the kitchen staff might have changed because things don't always taste consistently good . Sometimes they are mediocre to OK and few times it has been really good..I used to  tell people to go to the pub for a great fish-n-chips or pot roast, or bangers and mash.. now I think it is more of a guessing game..
Let's hope they can start fixing a few things here to keep people coming back for an overall great experience!!

It is a pretty good British-themed bar & restauraunt (or gastropub, if you want to use the term).

It has a very comprehensive bar, with a vast catalog of beers.  It serves mostly British cuisine (or American interpretations of British cuisine).  My personal favorites are the curry chips and shepherd's pie.  They have the requisite burgers and pizzas that people would also expect of a family-friendly restaurant in the US.

The atmosphere is friendly and relaxing, the drinks are good, and while the prices are just a tad high compared to other family restaraunts, it's a nice place to go if you want a good evening meal.

Being an anglophile, there's a lot to like here. The bar is cozy, elegant and something right out of London. The staff are all very good, friendly and welcoming. The food is really good, especially the Fish N Chips and the Bangers and Mash. On top of all of this, there's a comfy deck for those summer days, and they frequently host events.

The beer selection is pretty good, although they seem to have stocking issues from time to time. And the main criticism I can level is that the beer is pricey. Even in the various discount clubs, you're still paying four dollars a pint.

However, it's a nice, atmospheric and family-friendly place to wet the beard.

They have an incredible beer and whiskey selection. The Fish N Chips are fantastic.  The staff is very friendly and attentive. Try the Scottish Egg, it is amazing.  The downside is that the menu is a little pricey.

The atmosphere at The Pub is really fun! Unique dark wood furniture, large bar in the middle of the restaurant, and a friendly wait staff make it a great place to go. The food is alright, I had the Pub Burger. The portions were quite large and it was fairly priced. I would recommend visiting at least once!

The food here is a pretty good approximation of English pub fare.  If you don't know much about British food, that means, it's edible -- the Brits are not known for their cuisine.  But seriously, I ordered fish and chips, and they were very tasty, and the curry sauces that you can get with your fries are really good.  I think the most authentic thing about this place is the prices - you feel like you're in England because you're paying too much for something that's not that special.

When friends of mine told me there was an English pub in Lexington, I was excited.  When I heard it was called "The Pub" and located on a mall complex, I was disappointed.  The food is good, the beer selection is great, but the staff can be a little too cheesy and in your face like Jennifer Aniston's co-worker at Flinger's.

The Pub is very large and noisy.  The round booths are small even for four normal sized people. I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to visit here.  If you're in the neighborhood, stop in.

So I love the people, the atmosphere, and of course the English jargon...but the 3 stars are for the food. The food is okay. With a list of many foreign beers, it is obvious the food is not the main attraction, but it is fun, fun, fun. I recommend  the shepherd's pie if you are eating, and don't forget to leave with your "Bugger Off" T-shirt.

It's been a few years since I got to spend much time in Lexington and I can't believe how much it has... spread. :) It may not be great for urban renewal, but the plus side is that there are lots of new-to-Lexington restaurants to try. If you know what's good for you, you'll start with The Pub.

Now, if this isn't a chain restaurant, you could've fooled me. Everything screams "British spin on Outback Steakhouse" -- you've got your vocab list in the menu, your servers in funny t-shirts, and your sprinkling of pseudo-authentic dishes. But I like Outback, and I like The Pub. The booths are plentiful, there's lots of good beer on tap, and the bangers and mash is in every way delicious.

Lexington expatriates everywhere, come back soon and see what's new! Grab tickets to a movie at that new gignormous theatre and make it a night.
